Very smotth transaction. Although I cancelled my order due to not knowing what was going to happen with my trade in. I ended up going with Verizon.

Either there is a large supply or not a high demand. I can still get an Xs Max 64gb on September 28 if I order right now. Wow.

I made a new thread with this info, but it got lost into oblivion, so I’ll paste it here, in case anyone may find it useful!

It's that time of year again! I have gathered together a bunch of useful info for tracking your iPhone order (if you order it through Apple), perhaps the mods can sticky this, as I think people will find it helpful and it may help prevent duplicate question threads.

So, order date is in a few hours, 12:01am Pacific time on the 14th. Delivery date is the 21st.
This same info will work for those of you holding out for the iPhone XR later on!

Once our orders move to processing we should start seeing some movement to 'preparing for shipment' over the weekend.
Once this happens you should be able to get details on your phone and let the tracking begin!

Here are some notes to help track orders:

If your phone status has changed to "Shipped", you can view the invoice on the Apple site.
That invoice has the serial number on it.

Go to Apple.com, then pick the ORDERS page (the little "shopping bag" icon at the far right on the home page... go to your orders page). Now, log in, and find your iPhone order... and click on Print All Invoices to see your shiny new iPhone serial number.

You can look up the week of manufacture and factory here, using the serial number:
http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html
or
http://sndeep.info/en

Links for tracking:

http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/reference?loc=en_US
https://www.fedex.com/apps/fedextrack/?action=altref&cntry_code=us

Another way to find it, enter your phone number + zip:
https://www.villagedrapes.com/html/tracking.html

If your phone number isn’t working for UPS tracking, use your order number but subtract the last two numbers/letters. Say your order number is: W123456789, you'd put in: W1234567 - make sure to use the tracking by reference feature.

Flight info:
http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/UPS
http://flightaware.com/live/iphone
When you see the time that your flight leaves China (make sure that the UPS or FedEx info is showing it per China time, or do the math), and you can usually narrow it down

Have fun!!
hmmm....looks familar.

Glad someone picked up sending out the message

It's great fun, isn't it? I saw the Fact Sheet earlier, but I didn't bookmark it: now, I've got to hunt for it. Happy tracking! :)
I copied it and pasted it into my Notes App on my iphone. I believe he reposted it or put a link a page or two back. Wonderful list of the upcoming scenario or saga! Thank you to vtboyarc!!

so let the magic questions begin.

1. do we think it will be fedex or ups
2. who is going to have the package held at the UPS center. I did it last year and it worked out great, but it was so stressful, i might just cancel my day and stay home and wait all day/night for it this year. i dont know.

Probably FedEx since they usually handle more time sensitive deliveries. Also if the past is any indicator it seems that FedEx gets the majority of the early iphone deliveries.

Prolly a little of both if that could be a reality. I’m sure many are choosing to hold onto their X if they are not “Max” people. I’d be confident that Apple wanted to insure more than adequate supply in case of huge demand. Once the XR is shipping you’ll see Xs Xs Max sales fall fast. :apple:

Actually you don’t need a computer. You just need to view your orders at apple.com

Hmmm, I thought you can't change it until it says preparing to ship.. But my phone was in the preparing to ship stage like 20 minutes after placing the order. its in the processing stage and I cannot change the order..

For those who might also be wondering. I was able to edit my ship-to address online, in my case, just adding an apt number, and it didn't change my 9/21 delivery date.

What was the status of your order when you changed your shipping address?

You still have to pick out the carrier to make sure you get the right, but if you don't go through all of the verification stuff you just have to move the sim from your old phone to the new one instead of it just working out of the box.

Does this mean I would avoid the activation fee? How can I check if I picked the right carrier.... I know horrible but I was half asleep.

Just pre ordered SG XS Max. 64G sim free for 9/21 store pick up. Used the Apple app on iPad with Touch ID Apple Pay. Confirming e-mail was received before I closed the Apple app. Easy transaction, now to pay for it when bill comes.

Interestingly I Clarified indicated the arrival date for my phone as being a week later than the email from Apple said. I wonder if the date they had was for orders that were later than mine. I got it in at the stroke of 3am.

Last year I was on a boat on the Douro River in Portugal when ordering began for the iPhone X. I could not get wifi. Frustrating! When we got to Porto with wifi, I had a December date. Finally got my X at my Apple Store right before Thanksgiving. So grateful to have 9/21 Arrival this year, We leave for Ireland & Netherlands on 10/8

My wife would kill to be able to travel that much or to places like that.

I've had a UPS Store mailbox since 1999 (back when it was Mailboxes Etc) when I closed my medical practice, and needed medical record requests to go somewhere other than my home. So, I've been using them to sign for packages all this time, and then I can pick them up Mon-Sat at my convenience. When we do get to travel my packages are safely waiting for me. For instance, our being gone for a week in October.

Anyone know if fedex will allow you to change the pick up location? In the past ups allows me to change pick up to one of their hubs and I can pick up as early as 8 am.
