No. I actually called UPS when my status did that to ask. They said they send the paperwork to customs ahead of time to help make the process take less time. She told me that status means the paperwork is submitted. After mine did that it still had not left China. Since then mine supposedly departed Hong Kong but that was over a day ago.

If thats the case tracking is pretty useless

That's simply not true though. My store hasn't had a 512gb Xs Max in any color every time I've checked. And now I'm traveling and just hoping they get their sh*t together and get it to Louisville when I'm passing through there on Tuesday.

I've arranged to pick it up there since that is the date they have been saying it would have been delivered in MI.

Thats the problem for all of us, it has shipped but seems to be stuck or tracking does not update.
Can’t just go pick another one up at the store now unless we want to own two IPhones

I'm in Toronto (Mississauga to be more accurate) and last scan shows my phone is in Mount Hope, ON but it's been in customs since Saturday morning and now it's Sunday night and it's still in there with an unknown delivery date but Apple says its coming tomorrow. Should I be worried that it won't be there? It would be be pretty stupid didn't come but I'm just getting worried now. This phone was supposed to come on Friday, then on Saturday and if it doesn't come tomorrow, there has to be some sort of compensation for stuff like this. First and last time pre-ordering, should have just gotten it in store like I usually do.

It’s a four hour round trip to the Apple store.

I’ve called Apple and UPS for several days, they both offer no help whatsoever.

This is getting ridiculous. I got my order confirmation email from Apple for the iPhone XS 256GB Silver (T-Mobile) 35 minutes after pre-orders started. I have yet to receive my iPhone.

Most people's iPhones appear to be coming via ZhengZhou/ZZ, but a few of ours have been routed via Shenzhen (China) + Chek Lap Kok (Hong Kong).

UPS status has been stuck at "Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery." for quite some time, while the Apple website suggests "Arrives Mon Sep 24", which I believe to be inaccurate at this point (on Sunday, Sept 23 night).

No clue what is going on. Disappointed with Apple and UPS, to say the least.

I have a feeling Trump's trade war with/tariffs on China has something to do with this. China holding onto our iPhones a little longer in retaliation?

Like last year, this year too, I did not preorder. I looked up istocknow.com inventory at my local Apple stores, bought through Apple store and picked up this evening. I picked up a Xs max 64 GB Gold with a red Apple case and a screen protector installed at the Apple store itself. The camera is better than my iPhone X.

It’s a shame that this happened but hopefully Apple gets its act together next year. I was one of the lucky ones who got one on launch day at 8am from a ups cc

but somehow they didn't deliver instead ups send it back to Louisville
then send it to salt lake city and just returned to oakland
WTH????? so dumb.....

Yes, finally a Louisville scan. I’m glad that Monday delivery is still looking good! Can’t wait to have a larger phone. Love my X, but Xs max will be awesome! Congrats to all those who enter their third day with a new iPhone.

Good luck getting your phone!!! I’m like you. I loved my X but the Max is the best iPhone I’ve ever owned. Absolutely crazy about the size of the screen and no bezels. It’s worth the wait!

UPS just updated my delivery date from Monday the 24th, to now Tuesday the 25th. In the description, it says that my package was not able to be loaded on the plane as scheduled. This whole thing with the pre-order going smoothly and then the actual delivery has been a nightmare. In years past, I have never experienced this. I know it's just an iPhone, but I pre-ordered specifically so I can get it on launch day. It's pretty bad as UPS and APPLE are both telling me to contact the other, meanwhile, there had been no explanation why this was happening in the first place. It went from Kentucky back to Hong Kong, and now stuck in Anchorage... Something screwy is going on and the Apple Specialist said there's nothing that can be done right now but wait.

Soooo sorry! I’ve never seen such mess ups in all the years of ordering iPhones. I had a couple of scares on Thursday but received my phone and watch on Friday. It could’ve been me so I really sympathize with what all of you are going through.

Not true. Apple cancelled mine on the phone and rerouted the box back to Apple.

Order is processing. Arrives Oct 8-15. Any guesses on whether it might show up early? Anyone else order today?

I just ordered my XS Max Space Gray 64 GB today also with Oct 8th-15th delivery. Mine is with T-Mobile. However I did pre-order the iPhone XS Space Gray 64 GB through At&t (I am now with T-Mobile.) For the Upgrade I just made the last payment on my X as part of the IUP upgrade to the XS. I ended up returning the XS though, since I switched providers. Biggest reason I returned it is because I decided I wanted the Max version instead. Anyway the point is you could of pre-ordered on Sept 14th, as the last payment would of been made as part of the upgrade.

My phone shipped Friday, toured China over the weekend, and landed in Taiwan this morning. I’m hoping it at least gets to visit Japan on its way to the states and makes it home for the holidays.
