Mine is out for delivery as well. iPhone XS (256GB Unlocked) Ordered on September 22. Very surprised it is almost here, having ordered so late.

I really, really hope that it works well out the box.

Btw i just checked, and i think this past weekend was a 3 day federal holiday in China. Might explain the delay in updates, as nobody was working.

I placed order for three phones (2 xs and one xs max) on 9/14 and was indicated for 9/21 delivery. As of today, one xs showed up an hours ago, one xs still sit in Louisville, KY, and xs max is still in Zhengzhou, China.

This is the first time I tried pre-order and certainly didn't give me a warm fuzzy experience for the most. Even more confused UPS logical, two xs arrived at Louisville the same time, scanned same time, yet only one has been delivered. Even more comical when I talked to Apple, they said "we are doing everything to accommodate for your delay problem, and we are upgraded your delivery option to next day air.....", I guess they just didn't to reference the NEXT DAY is to which base date :) Another way of saying "Check is in the mail" :)

This is insane and honestly extremely unacceptable! I saw a few stories about the "Delivery date" delays UPS...etc. Big mess. What the -- is the reason for this UPS extreme fail??

Did you get it yesterday - is it coming today??
I am so sorry for those who haven't received this yet!

Apple selected the carrier so yes, they have some responsibility.

I absolutely agree with this - the failure always comes back to the original company - in this case Apple, even if UPS royally screwed up! God, I remember what felt like a lifetime ago, I worked as a Customer Service rep and Promotions at CDNOW .com back in the late 90s, early 00's

Sounds primitive now..this days of online ordering CDs,DVDs, etc. But anyway, there here was BIG promotion for the new Backstreet Boys CD in Spring 1999. Massive pre-order promotion and there were well over 10K of pre-orders, that number was a lot at the time. Well, About 95% of those CDs never reached the people on the Tues. release date. Again, that was failure from UPS. And the CDs that did arrive..quite a few had smashed cases, CDs shattered. Other orders...the CDs eventually arrived...some 1- even 2 weeks later.

So the outrage was insane..lot of sad kids, teens not getting this big new release - then the angry parents emails, called non stop for what felt like forever. The solution for some was a total refund, many would get a $10 off for the next purchase. Big loss of money

No one cared UPS screwed up, it was CDNOW's fault and yes..I agree.

What I am saying, it all comes down to Apple. Those who dropped 1000+ on the phone, 500+ on the watch - super excited to get that on Fri. - watching videos, news of people getting their devices at the store, even having some devices like the watch in stores on Sat! That is a deflating, depressing, even anxiety inducing feeling for many. And they STILL haven't seen it today - they should be compensated.

I would say a $20, 30 Apple gift certificate should be given either a physical card - or a code that can applied to the accounts.

Just my opinion on that.

So my final update, I had my iUP pickup scheduled at 630 on launch day and it got delayed. Spoke with Apple through the weekend and kept being told different things (it shipped, its at the store, its at the warehouse etc). Spoke with them yesterday and they said it will now ship this Friday and pickup would be some time next week. I looked online and saw that 1 of the stores in my area had the Xs Max 256GB in stock. I called Apple back and after 40 min. of arguing, got them to cancel the order and was able to re-place it online and go pick it up. Even with arguing with them to cancel, they still couldn't tell me where my phone was. This launch has been a disaster, to say the least.

I totally agree that this is Apple's responsibility. As I talked with Apple CSR and complaint non-stop on the problem. But Apple's legal footing is "delivery date is never a PROMISE" if you look the final prints. At the end, the Apple CSR did offer me some sort of "discount" for net purchase with $15 off one $100+, $30 off on $20+0, $45 off on $300+, but will all expires on 9/29..... So, they just don't forget the make sure to be on the up hand. I guess when they have enough in line for their products, your royalty will become secondary!

The fine print is always a bunch of BS. Yeah you have to Live chat, or get an actual person n the phone and plead the case. I'm glad they did something...but use it or lose it by 9/29. C'mon, that's lame.

Well, nowadays...every single time we deal with customer service, even a transaction at a physical store - I fully expect that "How was your experience" email within 2 hours of my interaction, purchase. (Even Apple did this when I was in store on Sat) Just let them know.

Will this do anything...no 99.99999% chance it won't do jack squat.

- Little off topic, I hate those email survey's.
If you want me to waste 3, 5 minutes of my time filling that out, give me something in return.

I ended up just going to my local Apple Store with no lines whatsoever and getting the phone I want.
Lucky for you guys that has the local in stock. In my area, just simply none. Even with orders online, the local pickup option is not available. Never been in this pre-order process before, so I couldn't speak for the past. But for this launch, Apple certainly didn't do a very good job on that aspect. Then again, maybe it is designed to be that way, and may generate even higher hype on the products...... Definitely will not do that again for sure.

My phone was stuck in China for a few days, then stuck in AK for a couple of days and now is stuck in Louisville probably due to the rains last night.

Update: Left Louisville at 3pm and arrived at my hometown at 4:15pm. Should be delivered tomorrow.

Bah, missed the UPS guy. It didn't state that it needed a signature, and I assumed he/she would leave the package. Well, I guess I will have to wait till tomorrow.

Complete weirdness with my order. It was showing as delayed and in China this morning, and delivered via UPS.

I left my house, and it's showing as DELIVERED, No Signature, via Fedex. Very strange.

Was your shipment like this, mine was supposed to arrive today, but UPS never updated it until today. This is really weird.

My fiancee’s phone is still in customs. It has been for a few days. She isn’t worried about it. She says it will get here when it gets here. She isn’t trying to cloak impatience in “well they said it would be here on this day blah blah blah”. She doesn’t need immediate gratification of having the phone in hand. She has had the 6s for over 2 years. Another day or another week isn’t going to change her life. The phone being late isn’t a disaster or a catastrophe. Crap happens. She isn’t calling ups. She isn’t calling apple. It will get here when it gets here. Hakuna matata!

Did you get your phone through the IUP program? If you did then the phone is shipped UPS and the trade in kit Fed Ex.

I have ups my choice or whatever it’s called and it shows the delivery date under the “manage my deliveries” section. It was pretty accurate for my iPhone shipment last week so I’m assuming it’s correct this time as well. But who knows, with all the issues everyone else have been having I might’ve just been lucky last time.

The ironic part is after I got home from the Apple Store the UPS guy showed up to deliver the phone I preordered so I had go back to the Apple Store to return the preordered one.

So Apple should compensate you because of shipping delays/issues? Apple is ultimately responsible, but that doesn't entitle you to any compensation. Your phone will arrive, just a few days late. Life goes on.

Unfortunately there are those on this board who are painfully impatient and want immediate gratification. No delay is acceptable and those that cause this delay will feel their wrath. Someone has to pay for their impatience. They will attempt to justify their impatience. It’s a damned phone. It will get there when it gets there. An extra day or two or a week without it won’t make any difference. I don’t understand where this need for instant gratification comes from. I never had that problem.

I assume that they update on the destination scan will update at OOB tomorrow. I'm anticipating that the next update will show the phones in the US with a new delivery date (probably 1 or 2 days delayed). Not exactly ideal, i'm just eager to play with my toy!
