Man, I'm so jealous. Ordered on the App Store app at 2:05 central time, the moment the app let me in, had my confirmation email by 2:07 and it slipped already to 2-3 weeks. It HAS improved to 1-2 weeks, and Sep 28th to Oct 5th, as where Im HOPING for a launch day surprise, I highly doubt it. This is my very first launch day miss, and it took minutes. :( I ordered the 512K Space Gray iPhone XS Max on AT&T by the way. 2 of them. Both same ship time.

The smart way to go is to buy an unlocked phone paid in full. Less wait times. I ordered mine at 730am and it will be here on the 21st

I ordered 2- xs max and 1- xs, all IUP and was able to order all three before 3:05 EST. Best year ever. I did the pre-authorize on each the day before.
Even though I didn't think I minded the past 2 years with dates 1-2 weeks after launch, I wasted TOO much time checking shipment status in hopes they would ship faster.

All of my devices are now preparing to ship. Charges on card, nothing in tracking and probably won't for a several days.
Chase must know my pattern because they didn't flag the multiple charges.

I plan to do a hold at our UPS Cust Center 10 min from me to pick up Friday morning after 8:30 - much better than worrying about missing a knock on the door. I'll be able to do that with UPS My Choice once it shows up in the tracking. For those new to My Choice, it's free and it rocks.

When they 'prepare to ship' this early, I wonder if they are in a warehouse stateside somewhere????

Yup, I double and tripled checked. put in my e-mail and order # W....... I hit the + then Apple and filled in the e-mail and order number...and it just gets stuck in "contacting apple"... I even tried quitting and restarting the app and hard restart too.

I have the same problem for my Apple Watch order. Probably because that order has an extra strap that’s shipping after 9/21 and a trade in kit in pending shipment while the Watch is processing. My order for iPhone Xs that only has 1 item works fine in Deliveries.

I ordered an AT&T XS Max 256 with a day one pickup.

Because of my schedule I really don’t want to risk waiting all day to get it delivered. I see a lot of people that plan on switching their orders to pickup at the UPS Customer Centers Friday morning.

Does it matter which customer center I choose? Will picking one over another change the date or time I can pick mine up? Will the phones be there Friday morning or could I be risking having to wait longer then what a delivery would actually be?

Thanks for any info, it would be my first time diverting to a customer center.

Still “in progress” here.

Ordered AT&T Xs silver 256gb at 3:04 a.m. - bit surprised it hasn’t kicked to prepared yet but it will soon enough.

It most definitely matters which Customer Center you choose. Choose the one that's associated with your UPS Hub. Find the one at the hub your Apple stuff will come from.

How do I find that out? Can I call UPS to find this information out?

Can you expand on this answer please? if we have multiple customer centers- how do we know which one is the apple hub? Also what's the downside to picking say a UPS store or something?

I think you can call them and they'll find the hub or Customer Center associated with your delivery address. Or you can check an older tracking number and see where your package was before it went out for delivery.

If you choose a hub that's not your hub, you won't be able to pick it up in the morning. It will have to go on a truck and eventually show up at the new hub, pretty much the same as choosing a UPS store.

If there's some question as to your CC, call UPS and give them the tracking number. Ask them which CC it will come out of. You can then ask for it to be held at that particular CC.

yikes. that would suck if you had to wait an extra day cuz you picked the wrong hub.

In my particular case our building is usually one of the first stops anyway and our customer service center doesn't open till 930. so likely it will be on truck at 8- at my building by 10 or 10:30 at latest. Seems wiser to just let it deliver and not mess with it.

I checked an older shipment and it just says Tampa, FL. There are several customer centers in Tampa lol.

I may need to call them.
