it's been a long time since I got a new iphone (2014) and I don't remember how I upgraded back then. I ordered the XS Max from apple online, and I'm trading in my current 6 Plus. I just realized I'm not sure how it'll transfer my number over when I received it in the mail.... it is automatically tied to my number? I assume I chose my number when ordering. My wife has a phone on the account too but it wouldn't be under my login. Will I need to move over the sim card or will it automatically be all set for Verizon?

Thanks!

Thanks! I tried that and couldn’t find my usual cc. Had to call ups to manually change it

The website wouldn’t find my CC locally either even with the correct zip code.

I had to edit the location for searching and put in the address of the customer center for it to finally pop up. Got it changed this morning and it’ll be ready for me at 8am on Friday morning on the way into work.

It should come ready to program your number...BUT ...last year, when I was upgrading from my 7 plus to the X, my phone came registered with someone else's number and I didn't notice until I already programmed the SIM. ( I registered it with MY number) At that point, ATT just had me move my old SIM from my 7 to my X. I feel bad that I bricked someone's SIM and stole their number, but that was all ATT/Apple's fault lol. Easiest way is to just switch the SIM card. I'm not going through that again! I spent the entire night on the phone with ATT...the closest ATT from me is about an hour and I didn't have time for that and to be without a phone. They always say not to move the SIM card and to reprogram a new SIM, I don't know why they say that because I've been doing it for years prior to last and I've never had a problem.

Do y’all trust UPS support with telling you the correct CC? I have two CC locations in my city and I’m terrified that UPS will just tell me to pick the closest one or the wrong one and delay my order.

Did you order on apple.com or the french site ? Just curious because if you used the french site very probably your phone could be already in europe and it will show up only the day before 21st

Yes , I used the french website (apple.com/fr/ ) as it's the one associated with my address are in France . It never crossed my mind that I could use the US site ;)

Haha, false. That’s been the case with my phones maybe 2 or 3x in the last 7 years or so. It made for a super-boring week between preorders and launch, as I got a tracking number late and then saw zero movement until the night before.

Yep, totally normal. My iPhone is in the same boat, and so are the watches I ordered. I do have tracking info for those, though (showed up in UPS MyChoice). Nothing whatsoever on the phone.

How do you get it to show up in MyChoice?

I had a glitch when I ordered my sim free sg 256g max. It switched to att and I didn’t notice and ordered it. Next day I ordered another one that processed sim Fred for 9/28 - 10/1 delivery. I called and talked to Apple sup. He tried to put a sim free in his cart and it loaded att for him as well. His explanation was that it defaults to what was available, which I’m still not convinced that was what happened.
I need to decide to whether to keep att 9/21 delivery and get unlocked through att or wait for sim free. Anyone heard if locked and unlocked have the same components this year? On the X last year one had Intel the other had Qualcomm. Just curious.
Edit: I know all are Intel this year. Just wondering if any other hardware differences. If not, easier to just get att to unlock. I PIF.

Absolutely not. Those calls go to a call center in the Philippines and all they do is Notate an email and send it to oblivion that’s when you understand what they are saying
