I don't see the point of 512gb on your phone especially at that price. I was worried when I went down to 64 for my X but a year later im only at 41gb.

I appreciate the small form factor that better fits in my pants and pockets. Not the small screen. I hope for the day Apple introduces a X with the SE outside dimensions.
I have a 6s+.
Samsung has a phone called the Note that has that

If you launch the Apple Store App, you can go ahead and go through the steps of choosing your phone and submitting your "next year" application. Still have to get up at 12:01 PT if there's a model you have to have. Still "first come first served".

Thanks StarDal!

Anyone else on the iphone upgrade program check your eligibility and see they want a payment. I ordered on X on launch day. That needs to be fixed by friday.

SE phones are too small and not practical for anything besides getting lost in your pocket/purse. I have small hands and love my 8+. I can see the iPhone XR doing really well. I will most likely get one next year's iteration.

Where were you in the years when Apple spun 3.5" as perfection... and then 4" as perfection? I recall almost no such comments about them when Apple endorsed them... when "one-handed use" was seemingly paramount and anything with a screen bigger than 4" was an "abomination." Funny how our opinions can so readily evolve to fit whatever a corporation has for sale at the moment.

I'm an NBA-sized man myself and I can see the merit of an SE-sized phone and right up to phablet-sizes. To each his own. One may readily agree or disagree with your opinion but there was a time when every iPhone fan readily laid their money down to buy the "perfection" of a 3.5" and then the "perfection" of a 4-inch iPhones- generation after generation- gushing, praising and defending the size to any and all challengers. If it was "perfection" for them then, it could still be perfection for them now... not 'getting lost in their pocket or purse' then or now.

The tears in this thread are delicious. Apple didn’t make something specifically for you, boo hoo. Find another manufacturer that fits your needs if Apple isn’t it any longer.

Ugh, another “this would never happen under Steve!” post.

The SE was never a big seller, for better or worse (about 8% of total iPhone sales), as most people want a bigger screen (again, for better or worse). With the iPhone 7 at $449, it has basically taken over the role of the SE.

And did you really expect a Mac announcement at an iOS focused event? Most signs point to another Oct event for the Mac.

Stop pretending Steve was perfect - he wasn’t, he made a ton of controversial decisions.

I don't disagree that some people want a bigger screen, but I'm not convinced that there isn't an equally large market for a smaller form factor. The SE was not a flagship phone. People want the latest and newest tech, and the SE wasn't that, so it's not quite fair to assess the demand that way.

To think I was sweating buying airpods last week for someone’s birthday and getting the BOGO ATT iPhone X offer in late spring.

Gotta remind myself - the rumors and Apple will always oversell these events.

Also, where’s the $150 phone charger announced in 2017? Lol

All of you clamoring for the SE fail to realize this is a business decision.

The SE had very limited users (clearly) and Apple made the decision to kill it because of what is probably low adoption.

If the SE were even close to popular, Apple would have updated it. It's simply not worth it as evidenced by the decision.

They also won't take away for the "iPhone Event" with a budget phone with a niche following. If anything, they'll release a new SE quietly in March after the excitement has died down.

Good point. I actually was hoping for an update to the SE, but really wasn’t surprised that not only it didn’t get an update, it also got discontinued.

It’s interesting, before the iPhone 6 was released, a LOT of people were complaining about how small the screen on the iPhone was compared to other phones. Now that the iPhones have bigger screens, people are complaining that they’re too big.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

I don‘t have to as my SE works perfect.

Actually, I'm a big fan of the iPhone 5 design too- just playing with the idea of how our consumer sentiment seems to so readily evolve based on a corporation's actions, not really taking a poke at you. "We" DID used to ridicule bigger-screen phones before Apple went there, slinging the "pants with bigger pockets" and "man purses" to no end. Your post was just a good prompt to remind us all of that.

Personally, I still think that iPhone 5 design was the single best design of any iPhone generation ever (the SE being pretty much a refined design cut from that very same cloth). I (too) wish there was an updated SE and, again personally (my own preference) that it kept the headphone jack option too, so that we can enjoy the benefits of iPhone and iOS without having to just roll with dongle-mania to be ready for whatever audio-connection needs come up in the real world (outside the bubble).
