Thank You, Mister Cook, for eliminating the only small phone in your line up. The only Phone, that is not a ridiculous phablet.

I had no idea, that You zeroed out customer satisfaction.

And still no new mac mini. Apple just hit rock bottom.

Bozos all over the place.

Steve would have never allowed this.

Ugh, another “this would never happen under Steve!” post.

The SE was never a big seller, for better or worse (about 8% of total iPhone sales), as most people want a bigger screen (again, for better or worse). With the iPhone 7 at $449, it has basically taken over the role of the SE.

And did you really expect a Mac announcement at an iOS focused event? Most signs point to another Oct event for the Mac.

Stop pretending Steve was perfect - he wasn’t, he made a ton of controversial decisions.

Understood about getting rid of 6S & X, they both have an adequate replacement, but quite sad to see iPhone SE go, it was a nice little gem.

I eventually switched over to BT headphones, but I bought 6s+ because it HAD an headphone Jack.

Apple to SE owners: "Your kind isn't welcome here anymore. Move along."
No small phone for you...

. But the XR has a longer battery life than the XS and has a bigger screen. So you can decide for a much cheaper XR with one Camera, better Battery and larger display, or a more expensive XS with a smaller screen, two Cameras and less battery life.

The XR has a physically larger display, but it's lower resolution and PPI.

XR: 1792 x 828 @ 326 PPI

XS: 2436 x 1125 @ 458 PPI

So depending the app, type of use, font-scaling/settings, your eyes :) you might get just as much content, or more, on the XS.

The customer base desiring a small iPhone is virtually nonexistent. Steve would have wanted more expensive phones if he could get people to shell out the cash.

The first statement is pure ignorance.

The second one is inaccurate. Steve did like money, no doubt, and he thought, that success is measured in profit.

But that was not his driving force.

Steve wanted to change the world, to redefine industries, to build extraordinary products.

Not just bigger is better.

Those phablets are as stupid as those people, who take photographs on the street using iPads.

Utter stupidity.

Lame design.

Lack of true innovation.

Bozo blah blah about retarded games for 9 year olds.

I don't want any stupid haptic game feedback on my phone.

I want a phone that fits my pocket!

They are so caring about the environment, they recycle their junk and charge us more per gadget to make up for their higher terrify and levies - nice. They care so much about the environment they had to make a larger than large enough phone with no stylus, just an overblown iPod with calling capability - wow. I will still get 3 MAX’s please.

I love you all.

Well it is time to retire my old iPhone 7 plus and upgrade. I always use Target to preorder my new iPhone, because they will have them in stock when Apple or other carriers make you wait weeks for the new phones. Also, Target gives you a $150 target gift card which i can use for anything in the store like food. My friends always try the store route and wait weeks to get their new phones. And they always ask me how did you get your Apple phone so fast and i said i got it at Target and they gave me a $150 gift card on top of the same plan you would get at a store. Target is like the hidden gem that people forget about and you can get your phone on Verizon, AT@T and Sprint carriers and you get a great gift card on top of the great service at target.

You are totally right!!!

Steve made a controversial decision by selecting Bozo-Cook as new CEO.

He should have picked Will Ferrel instead.

So buy yourself some pants with bigger pockets. Apparently they were all the (impending) rage only a few years ago when the collective were still NOT believing Apple would dare make phones with screens bigger than the "perfection" of 4 inches. And then Apple actually embraced what "we" had referred to as "abomination" (sized screens) and ridiculed for the developer misery of fragmentation, etc.

By this point, there should be bargain bins loaded with pants with bigger pockets and those man purses "we" were slinging around in those days too.

I don‘t have to as my SE works perfect.

PPI for OLED and LCD are measured differently because Apple uses PenTile OLED.

The actual PPI is closer to 300 for the iPhone XS and XS Max.

Great event. The only slight disappointment was the "MAX" name (and general confusion on what's the exact difference between the XR and the XS, except the price) and lack of the rumoured iPhone 9xc with plenoptic camera. People on stage were great. Overall, very enjoyable. Tim's pre-show tweet (now deleted) was brilliant. Are there any rumours on when and where the next event announcing new Macs will be held?

Sigh..... looks like my SE is my last iPhone.

Apples new lineup is too big, physically and price wise for me.

I was going to buy FinalCut etc this month but I think instead I will be looking at Windows/Linux and alternative software.
I am not sure Apple makes anything I want to buy anymore.

Note is cheaper and has a jack

How many is "everyone"? You, me, and how many more? If the buyer market is not sufficient, no company is going to produce a product that does return a significant profit. You might as well call ALL the phone manufacturers greedy since no one has produced a competitive model at the same size as the SE or smaller.

There was an article not too long ago that mentioned people with larger phones spend more on apps. I believe that since the people who want a compact phone don't plan to do everything on it. It seems Apple (and everyone else) just wants to cash in on the app store revenue as well (on top of hardware).

I think there would be plenty of demand for a smaller form factor, but it's difficult to measure when people haven't had an option to purchase a flagship 4-inch phone for many years now (across all manufacturers). I think the closest you can get is measuring regular vs. plus lines (pre X), where the regular, smaller, size outperformed plus all the time. I'm not looking forward to having to move to the huge phones when my SE breaks.
