Given that Maps releases seem to be likely on Thursdays, and that they have been in testing for a while (since early August, if I remember correctly)...I'm going to throw a guess out and say we might see Israel, Palestinian Territories, and Saudi Arabia get released today. 🤔
Not next week after everyone gets their new iPhones??

EDIT: ...and I think it would have already been released over there if so anyway....

Mmm good point.

Plus, not to mention the 10 year anniversary of Apple Maps is Monday...

It seems likely that Apple will release the new map data of Israel, Saudi Arabia and the Palestinian territories today or tomorrow. The latest new Maps data released were released on Thursday or Friday.

16.1 beta 2 definitely has fixed every issue I’ve had on my new 14 pro max including the GPS bug that popped up a couple of days ago for me.

Crazy in NYC this week while the United Nations is in session. Walked to dinner and used Maps with my AirPods so I could get notifications.

Not sure if it is the dual GPS, but had me exactly where I was…even on the correct side of the street, even with tall buildings.

in the very very few places it’s available the quality is unbelievably beautiful. Now if they just hired 100,000 more people to drive vehicles around, they will catch up to google and what a decade?

I was amazed how well it worked in Central Park this past weekend.

Kind of surprised we haven't seen the newest expansion yet. This is the longest testing period at this point, if I'm not mistaken.

However, I wonder...since Saudi Arabia doesn't have turn-by-turn yet, I wonder if that's being tested as well at the same time. Haven't seen anything about that one way or the other though

Also surprised. I hope Apple won't do things halfway. Logically, the new map data should be released today or tomorrow.

Yes, I regularly follow Justin O'Beirne's blog. But we also know that in general Apple releases the new map data after a test of between 40 and 50 days. We are currently at 58 days of testing. So the new map data can be released at any time.
...but typically always on a Thursday (local time to the release area).

The thing to remember is Apple is not constrained by anything we know about. So while their pattern is 40-50 days, they can choose to release either before or after that time. It is not a law of nature.

Not sure if a bug or a fix but when you are coming upon an accident, it doesn’t start counting down until you are passing it as opposed to before when it would time out before you even got close due to traffic.

That would definitely be a fix. Given that most accidents result in a traffic slowdown, having a timer that would time out before you could even see the accident was a poor design decision.

They should have something that counts down the distance until you reach the accident. Then give a timer during which you can report ever it’s still there or not. Are you now seeing both of these elements or just the second part?

Yes and no. If Apple takes too long to release expansion 16, it will delay expansion 17. Apple is committed to liberating the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Liechtenstein before the end of the year.

I saw that Zillow now has the Look Around feature in the app. Now that that is out, the question is going to be how far off are we from a large-scale Look Around release? A part of me thought that wide-release would come before Zillow added it to their app. (Especially because I figured the announcement that Zillow was going to add it meant the wide release was coming shortly)
