There is a lot of discussion going on for ApplePay. I am amazed how much this start influenced all the media.
And I was really surprised that they brought ApplePay to Germany in such an event they did with FCB. I mean this was the VP for ApplePay which came to munich to show the stuff. Has never happened before! This shows how important Germany is as a market for ApplePay.

It's in their top 10. Jennifer Bailey (VP for Apple Pay) said so herself.

They've put a lot of effort into this launch and it is already paying off. DSGV / Sparkassen needing to issue a press statement on the same day as the launch says plenty.

BTW is anyone a Deutsche Bank customer here? Any experiences with them (customer service?). I use Commerzbank for cash deposits and withdrawals and some other small bits that I could cover with Deutsche Bank and get Apple Pay as a bonus. Hmm

I am a DB customer since 2014, what can I say ? I really do like DB, well I am forced to use it (international student). Never had any problems with customer service, btw i really like the design of their online banking.

In the case of comdirect, the credit card isn't connected to the main account but to a sub account.

wait what? I guess I have to recheck, I thought comdirect did withdraw the money from the giro account when the visa account was negativ...

I am such a noob, using comdirect literally less then a month now...

Thanks a lot!

Comdirect Visa is a normal credit card, meaning it sums up all your payments in a month and at the end it debits it from your Giro account.

It’s not a debit card like at ING.

And there’s also the option where you don’t get a monthly limit for your Visa but they set it to 0€ so you would have to first transfer money to the visa account in order to use it.

I'm with DB for many years now and I'm very happy with their customer support. The only thing which I don't like besides some bad businesses they did is the €1,50 minimum fee for credit card payments in non EU countries. That's why I got the Gebührenfrei credit card.

Customer for more than 15 years.... if there was any problems they try to solve it, especially in the retails...

But if you visit Suisse or UK you should think about MC travel cause 1,50€ for every non € purchase maybe the virtual card has not this ...but in general DB has more service than my account at VR, there I may pay and that’s it

"card wich only uses the money thats on it" it's a debit card), with CC you can go minus. You can take AMEX payback card and connect it to your account.

Yep here too. Was removed, opened up the app, got a new creditcard number and readded it to wallet. It's maybe just because I agreed to move to a German account.

I finally got a new passport so I can upgrade my boon account but haven't actually thought about moving it to Germany though my address has always been Germany... do I have to move it and how is that done?

How did you do that?

I haven't done anything :p I am used to it because my DKB account does that, but now I have the Tagesgeldkonto Plus as well so I put some money on all 3 (Giro, Tagesgeld Plus and Visa) and withdrew more from Visa then I had put onto it and on the 3. of this month "they" withdrew enough money from the Giro account to balance out the Visa one which actually already had been set to 0€ on the 30.11.2018... not sure it's Outbank or how they have an internal delay... with DKB I remember it more or less being instant... I was confused that comdirect was like days behind with updating transactions...

That one?
https://www.payback.de/pb/americane...go=510&pct=3MV&dealid=00114&partnerid=PAYB-DE
I never looked at payback so far... is it worth it?

Would be my first Amex card as well... (Boon. + DKB + comdirect)
It‘s not really worth it imo, you get maybe 1-2% rebate if you count everything together depending on where you shop. But it‘s a free Amex, and every once in a while you can withdraw a couple of bucks from Payback. Nothing particularly bad about this. I use that card for most of my daily shopping.

I have DB+Comdirect+N26, however my main Bank is DB, so actually i can use DB prepaid card. Comdirect is credit one , so at the end of every month it will be debited from girokonto. Many members of this forum have AMEX card, so it looks okay to use it. Comparing with comdirect visa card which debit Comdirect girokonto, amex can be debited from your main konto (Boon,DKB,comdirect).

I don't want a monthly Abbuchung. Is there an alternative to boon.?
In that case you can apply for DB mastercard, it is a prepaid one, and there is no abbuchung at the end of month.

Seems to be a monotonic and stormy day outside the apple pay bubble

What do you think who will survive? Apple or will they get regulates by the EU?

Thanks! I guess the other question for me is: Do I need anything else despite my visa cards, I am not only lacking Amex, but I am also shy of a Mastercard :p

comdirect: visa
boon: mastercard
payback: amex

should give everyone the most important CC's :)

But some are credit, other debit... in bold the cards you can add to Apple Pay. bunq being the special case with a Maestro card.

American Express Amex Credit
boon. MasterCard Prepaid
bunq Maestro + MasterCard Debit
comdirect Visa Credit
Deutsche Bank MasterCard Debit + Credit
fidor BANK MasterCard Debit + Credit
Hanseatic Bank Visa Credit
HypoVereinsbank / UniCredit Bank AG MasterCard Credit
N26 MasterCard Debit
o2 Banking MasterCard Debit
VIMpay MasterCard Prepaid

The upcoming banks in 2019 will be interesting:
Revolut (free Maestro / MasterCard Prepaid)
DKB (Visa Credit)
ING (Visa Credit + Debit)
Consorsbank (Visa Debit - a first in Germany!)

Also comdirect has announced that the VPay part of the Girocard (but not Girocard as a payment network itself) will wonder into our Apple Wallets.
