Guys, what difference does it makes if apple or google...
...we don't have either of them we are in neuland
If you are on Android, you don’t need any of them to pay with your smartphone. Neither Apple Pay nor Google Pay. Sounds funny, but is true. Wow. Such Neuland. Mobile payments without Apple or Google? Crazy Germans.

What does the wirecard bill look like? What information shows the boon. app?
In the boon app as well as the transaction list in the AppleWallet lists the merchant plus ID (for example the zip code or some other identifier plus often the city where the merchant is located), time of purchase and of course the amount of the purchase.
I would assume that this is the same information the banks will have too if they introduced ApplePay. From that perspective, they would be able to gain the same information as with card payments.
So Apple claims that they don't "see" all the information due to the tokenization of the payment but then the user and the bank sees all of it. Does that just mean that Apple does the whole transaction encrypted and promises it won't "look" and the users have to trust that?
edit: I guess the merchants should be afraid the most because they will lose the most "data" about their customers. Thanks to the tokens, the merchants can't track people with the credit card information any more. So they would have to rely on their loyalty cards...

So, my point seems to be right. Neither Apple nor Google hide information from banks and creditcard issuers have and use today. And they don't have and therefore share any additional information about the purchase.

Considering that they obviously don't know what they are talking about ... i would not care too much.

The requested feature was "payment via nfc chip", on Android they do not need Google for that. They can do it on their own, if they want to. So their answer "Google does not support it" is not totally true if not false. So ...

No rumours on Apple Pay at WWDC (anything about expansion plans, Apple Pay Cash etc.). I'm partly hoping this is a good thing, as we have had plenty of let-downs over the last years with know-it-alls.

On a side note: Does anyone frequently try to add their cards to Apple Pay to see if Ts&Cs come up? I have tried my Sparkasse, ING, Revolut and TransferWise cards. None of them produce any further steps and just cancel after putting in the expiration date. Other ones worth trying would be VoBa, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank / Postbank, DKB, Comdirect and Consorsbank...

Apple to Expand Secure Wireless Chip Beyond Payments

Apple is making a significant change to a wireless chip in the iPhone that will allow users to more securely unlock doors enabled with the same technology, a person familiar with the matter said.

The change to the near-field communication, or NFC, chip, which is expected to be announced next month, could pave the way for people to use iPhones for other security-sensitive interactions, from paying transit fares and opening car doors to verifying their identity in other ways.

Hmm. There might be a way to use the new nfc core subsystem for payments as well. A new golden bridge for financial institutions?

Honestly, I think that opening the NFC for third party payments would be a bad idea. Then we will never get Apple Pay because each bank would try their own app with their own "Insellösung". I want one uniform solution integrated in iOS.

If I try to set up Apple Pay with region set to Germany, I only get this. But after that I get an error message.

I said that before i think in here, Apple has to enable NFC to more things. You can use an android phone with some cars to open and start it and that doesnt work with iPhones yet. It seems like that will finally come in iOS 12.
And i dont think that they will change anything about payments.

It don't think, they will announce it next week. If we are lucky maybe this year. But I wouldn't bet on it.

Apple CreditCard by Goldman Sachs? Sorry, I Will Never ever be a customer of this group of criminals.

Welcome to capitalism. You can say that about every bank. Some things get public, some don't.

How often have companies made business models for people who want to have a clean conscience? Thoughtful banking etc. That's for making money. It's a great business model right now.

For myself, I choose companies who have a good service and reliable products that work and doesn't f?#k me up all the time.
