Sounds good! Let’s see if they have real joint accounts with personalized cards for every owner and so on. Then it’s time to rethink again.
[doublepost=1533631563][/doublepost]
N26 Space. „Unterkonten“ and later this year usable as joint accounts.

https://www.mobiflip.de/n26-spaces-unterkonten/
ok, after reading the english blogpost, they only say something about "shared spaces", they don't use the phrase joint account. Looks like, it's just shared access for other N26 users.

hm. let's see what they announce the next weeks.

OK maybe its a bit childish, but what about a little poll about the exact starting date of Apple Pay in germany?
First it's a bit of fun, and second we will get a feeling about what the other guys think, and maybe the predicted date of the majority will be the day we are all looking for.
And whoever wins is the "king of forum" ;-)
I am starting with my guess: September 18

I think mid of September is a good date to start... at least I do think it will start in this running quarter... and not in oct/nov/dec

First or 2nd week of September, right before iOS 12 launch. If you do look back at the latest additions to ApplePay then there is a bit of timeframe to be seen. Announcement at earning call typical meant a launch 5 to 6 weeks later. Still there may be interference with the upcoming keynote and/or iOS 12 launch.

I think also, iOS12 or iPhone Launch +/- a few days would be a good day to start. Buy your new iPhone and start with Apple Pay right way.

That‘s what I think, too. They could simply use one ad to advertise both, the new iPhone and the new service.

Therefore I think it’s either before the new keynote or on the same day, without any word on stage, but with a press release or something afterwards

So I updated to the version (N26). For all the people interested I made some screenshots of the new feature called "Spaces". For free users there is a limit of 2 Spaces, customers that pay money can get max. 10. Now compare that to bunq...

You can not share those spaces or connect them with other people. And you cannot connect your card to one of those spaces. They dont have a own IBAN like you get with bunq for example. So you will only be able to put money on this "space" and if you want to use that money you need to transfer it back to your real account.

What I like is that you can set a goal (eg 1000 €) and you'll get a small progress indicator.

All in all its a very simple update and a good quality of life improvement. Waited for such a feature for a long time and one of the main reasons I use bunq. Just like to organize my money. But two spaces is for me not enough I need at least like five or so. And I still miss that you cant share them with friends, family, etc.

Ok, if they say, you can only pay from the main account and they state that "shared spaces" will komm, then it will be impossible to use N26 spaces as a joint account

But they are quite easy to use and features like goals are nice.

I agree. Just missing the possibilty to share those spaces. And more than two would be nice too. Because I have set up my bunq like this: 1. Groceries & Daily Life Payments 2. Vacation 3. General Savings account 4. Savings account for kid 5. Savings account for other kid 6. Account where save money for maintenance (house stuff etc.) Just like to keep it clean and organize my money like that.

Multiple cards, shared spaces/joint accounts and N26 would be in a good place I think.
[doublepost=1533638867][/doublepost]BTW is anyone else having problems with N26 and cash withdrawal? I cannot activate "withdrawal" in my app anymore. Always getting an error message.

This above and the possibilities for real personalized cards with all rights for the legal co-owner and it would be a safe bet, that we become bunq-customers :)

so both either bunq or n26 are really nice but meh.... there is something important for us missing. and that bothers me a little bit.

Yep but I'm sure with time they'll get where we want them to be. They are working on it even if it takes ages but they have to catch up in a few months or years what other banks had decades for. Right now they are more or less just a playground. N26 I only use every now and again when I'm abroad because you dont have to pay a fee. And Bunq is - even though I use it on a regular basis - not my main account either. I mean my salary is not going to bunq its still going to my old fashioned "real" bank since I am bound to them for another four years till I payed off my mortage. But it is nice to play around with those finetechs.

"Update: Noch in diesem Jahr ist eine Erweiterung des Spaces-Angebots geplant. Kunden werden ihre Spaces als Gemeinschaftskonten nutzen können. Zusätzlich werden später personalisierbare Budgetierungsregeln und automatisierte Features für die Finanzplanung eingeführt. So können Kunden zum Beispiel festlegen, dass jedes Mal, wenn sie Geld ausgeben, die Differenz zum aufgerundeten Betrag zur Seite gelegt wird."

Apple Pay launch date? Probably in October, either the 10th or 17th...

Don't ask me how I knew if it turns out I'm right :D

Seeing some of the reactions you get in Germany when using contactless, an advert like this might be appropriate at launch... :D

Damn, this just could have been the perfect ad for a German launch!! And of course at the beginning of that clip they could have added a very short scene where the person in front of him have problems counting his coins at another cash register while saying "Moment, ich habs passend...." :D

For me this N26 bank seems really hyped. But if you look behind the curtain on the naked facts, they cannot compete with other direct banks like DKB. No Girocard is still a risk here in Germany, even if it may only be in few stores but when it happens, you better have your cash ready (oh, only 5 withdrawals per month free..). Which could ironically lead to the circumstance that you carry more cash than ever with you due to the 5 withdrawals/no girocard problems.

But I guess for free as a 2nd/3rd account its ok.

There is a VoBank officially talking about a Q4 start... so I wouldn’t bet on September

Or someone else who puts his giro in and does not know his pin, types the wrong pin or simply looks it up in his leather-wallet (had this with some polish guys in front of me paying with credit card at Aldi, very obvious that he was reading his pin from the wallet)

Maybe... or maybe Q4 is the only time frame they get from Apple in the invitation

Or maybe they have no idea at all what they are talking about. If they would be on board they would have talked to Apple and surely not be allowed to call out a time frame other than the standard words we heard so far „later this year“. Since they don’t want Apple Pay they probably ain’t know ****. :)

ING have changed their tone about AP a bit, slightly less negative.

Quote (taken from here):

A question to all you avid German bank fans out there... Does anyone have a Deutsche Bank Card Plus? (https://www.deutsche-bank.de/pk/kon...-plus.html?tp=parsys-tabs-tabsParsys-tabpanel)

According to some bits of information I found you get a MasterCard Debit for 18€ a year, 1% AEE and you don't need a DB Girokonto. That would be a good replacement for a boon. to be honest. Better exchange rate, cheaper yearly cost and a physical card. I could also just keep my account for the time being and not have to switch all my accounts. But the Deutsche Bank website doesn't give enough information.
