Since no other german-speaking Country has supported APC yet, I suppose that the this support-article-entry in german language on the 28th of August makes it pretty clear what it is related to.

AND... they seem to have added the same entry at the same time in all AP-supported "european languages", what gives wheight to speculate about a european release of APC

I would not care too much at the moment.

We have German Apple Pay support articles for years. Literally. And they were different to the swiss articles.

I just noticed something related to Apple Pay Cash as well. Got an iMessage and looked at the notification on my Apple Watch, and saw a large "Pay" button. When going in to the Watch app on the iPhone I can start the flow to add a card to Apple Pay (but my German N26 card gets rejected). It's also possible to start the flow for Apple Pay Cash, but cannot progress from the first view. If I go to the iPhone settings there still no mention of Apple Pay.

Something is happening for sure!

Looks like it.
Although the card is handled by the DKB, they are handled completely different with different setups:
- own portal for managing the card
- more options to setup: limits, sms messages, Region config, Cash withdrawal settings, online payment settings etc.
- Mastercard, which is not the standard of DKB, as they have Visa.

I myself have a miles and more card, but must admit, I only still have it any pay for it, so my miles will stay. To get miles, the miles and more lost a lot of value when they changed their miles per euro ratio.
I will try to get rid of the card as fast as I can.
The card itself is way to expensive.

True, the card lost a lot of attractiveness. I only have it, because it is free for me. I collect miles with Amex. Much better ratio.

Haha, heared an Interview with the ceo of ing diba. Saying that today more than 20% of their customers are doing banking stuff with smartphones or tablets. And ing diba wanting to be a bank of the future and digitalness...

But not wanting to support google pay or Apple Pay. Idiots...

Sometimes it is so weird.
Just went to a pharmacy, they would take wireless, but the BANK (Sparkasse) called them and told them, that wireless is not secure and they should use chip. I bet it's more, because at that moment when they told them this, they were not giving their customers wireless cards....
very weird. Told the pharmacist, that wireless with smartphones is even more secure then wireless with cards, as the phone has to be unlocked/authorized by fingerprint or other methods, or the watch will not accept payments anymore when taken off the wrist.
She said, let us talk more about this next time (there was a queue behind me)

I really doubt, that "their bank" told them that rubbish within the last three years. And girocard wireless is around since late 2015, early 2016.

I can assure you there’s so much misinformation even among bank clerks.
My mother in law has her current account at the local Raiffeisenbank. In January she got her new/first nfc enabled Girocard. So as she tried to make her first NFC payment it didn’t went through because she didn’t used her card with chip n pin first to enable NFC. But she didn’t knew about. So she went to the bank counter to ask what was going on with her card. Guess what...the clerk had absolutely no clew and told her that her card must be defective and ordered a new one...wait for it...without NFC.
I had to attend there to get my mother in law a (now 3rd) card with NFC again. /facepalm

I can only tell you what she told me.
It was just crazy as I believe the device would have worked as it showed wireless symbol and I know this device from other stores.

Yeah, that's when Apple Pay Germany will launch ... and maybe some iPhones and all that other boring stuff... :p

On a serious note: A launch in September isn't very likely but if Apple Pay Cash expansion is on the cards, the keynote would be a damn good time to publicise it (and use it as a marketing tool for the new iPhones).

Tbh I think it will be released with the new iPhones. Because it would be possible to make adverts where they advertise the new iPhone and the new way of paying and they would have more partners paying for the ads. The communication providers and the banks...

I also think it wont be september. there seems still a lot of negotiations ongoing in the background with some banks (like VR Banken, Coba and i guess DKB). this takes time

Tried another little round of adding various cards. I can not bring up the "Software Update required" notification any more. What about you all?

I tried: SPK MC, CoBa MC, N26 MC, DKB VISA, ING VISA
