Shouldn’t have even expected it. It’s know they don’t announce dates regarding new Apple Pay countries on stage.

I just cancelled my Boon because the fees would start next month :<
Come on Apple Pay! Start! :D

What do you think, no AP on monday with iOS 12? Only with a short Information for the worldwide press and without the announcement of Tim Cook

So, let's check possible launch dates in October:

October, 2 (Tue): possible, (Simchat Tora Day in US, California)
October, 3 (Wed): no, because of "Tag der Deutschen Einheit"
October, 4 (Thu): unlikely because "Tag der Deutschen Einheit" the day before

October, 9 (Tue): possible, (Leif Erikson Day in US, California)
October, 10 (Wed): possible
October, 11 (Thu): possible

October, 16 (Tue): possible
October, 17 (Wed): possible
October, 18 (Thu): possible, (Alaska-Day in US, California)

October, 23 (Tue): possible
October, 24 (Wed): possible, Japan started at this day two years ago
October, 25 (Thu): possible

October, 30 (Tue): possible, (Mischief Night in US, California)
October, 31 (Wed): no, because of Halloween and Reformationstag

Thus, we have 11 possible launch dates, correct?

I think you can rule out the first week and last week of October. I also don't think that those "special" days you noted in Califonia will have any impact. The launch is still way off. We haven't seen a single indication of an imminent launch, not even the appropriate banking apps have been updated yet. It will launch in October though, as the next bunch of countries will be announced at the end of October (next earnings call).

for me after some time of the iphone r would make sense. i think they want full attention on the iphones first (unfortuneately..)

Yes. Oct. 23-25 seem like a good bet.
Hm wouldnt that be a bit too early? Iphone r preorder is just at October 19 with selling date October 26. I think that would be too distracting from the iphone r. My guess is more like November (like Rudolf Linsenbarth said who is in contact with one bank) or even December if we are unlucky.

Then there would have been no point in announcing it now. They could have just announced it at the next quarterly earnings call in November. The recent pattern has been: Announce, 1-2 months later release, next earnings call the cycle begins again.

It will be October. Promise

Don't want to get anyone overly excited, yet when adding my N26 MC (and only that one) I get the usual "card isn't eligible for Apple Pay" text. BUT: The look up of banks supported ("Look up") doesn't show me the usual UK list of banks. Instead that screen is just empty. When adding my Revolut card (BIN is in France) it shows me French banks. Some sort of localisation must be going on in the background and the behaviour has changed for the N26 card - at least compared to a couple of weeks back when I last tried.
All other cards provide the same results as before.

I am on iOS 12 GM.
And I get to see the list of supported banks of the set region. No blank screen for me with an N26 MasterCard.

Mine is usually set to UK, so that's the default list that's usually shown. I've never seen a list of French banks (Revolut card must be recognised as a French card) and the N26 card still shows a blank screen. Very strange... All other cards (CoBa/DKB/SPK/ING/Amex) default to the UK list
