Mine is usually set to UK, so that's the default list that's usually shown. I've never seen a list of French banks (Revolut card must be recognised as a French card) and the N26 card still shows a blank screen. Very strange... All other cards (CoBa/DKB/SPK/ING/Amex) default to the UK list
I switched to France, UK and finally Irland. Same result. List of supporters, no blank screens.

Odd... well thanks for checking everyone!

I recently moved so - although very unlikely and couldn't explain why - it might have something to do with that.

Yep, same here... but that’s related to Apple Pay Cash. Probably just a bug.

What I like about iOS 12/Watch OS 5: FINALLY the Apple Watch mirrors the cards on the iPhone and I don’t have to delete and re-add cards to get them into the order I want. Also: some banks (ie. Monzo) send an additional push notification from their app after payment. That meant two notifications per payment - once from the app and once from Apple via Wallet. In settings, Wallet notifications can be switched off on a per bank basis. Great!

Sweden, the 'cashless country' in Europe, is behind Germany in terms of contactless payments? Unbelievable!

I would say they are again ahead of the Germans. Everyone is swishing in Sweden. Means they are paying with their phone with the payment App Swish.

Swish is only for peer-to-Peer payments mostly. So for sending people money. And it’s great because the money is directly on your reals bank account.

Not really. It started with this but now you can pay in many shops with it and also in local markets etc. using QR codes.

Right... I've seen a further change of behaviour: The empty "learn more" has disappeared, the adding of certain cards now prompts the "Setting up Card for Apple Pay" message (after taking about 5-10s), before giving me the usual "your card issuer doesn't yet offer support for this card". This isn't restricted to VISA cards, as the N26 shows the same behaviour (as my original theory was that this was connected to the recent "software update required" message we had a few weeks back).

This happens with:
-N26 MasterCard Debit
-ING Visa Credit (Debit)
-DKB Visa Credit

The usual immediate error message shows with the following cards:
-Commerzbank MC Debit
-Revolut VISA/MC/Maestro
-SPK MC Credit

Sadly no T&Cs have shown up yet!

Maybe of interest: I did read that many more users were able to add their Revolut MasterCards and even Maestro cards with Google Pay today (it launched in Italy early this morning).

EDIT: As usual my region is set to UK.

Just tried adding my comdirect Visa card, trying both France and UK as regions. Still getting the same screen “your issuer does not support this card”.

Ok. That's "good" news in my eyes. That means this definitely isn't related to VISA cards and seems to be different depending on which bank the card is from. Just strange that ING DiBa is showing this behaviour...

I'm not familiar with the exact process behind adding the cards and what steps are followed, but I assume Apple's servers first check the BIN with a simple binary "allowed / not allowed" and then collect the data they need from the banks to authorise adding the card - including generating the device account number for tokenisation. That's where this second step must kick in. From what I can see it tries to add the card but fails then. That's one step further than a locked BIN number (such as with Revolut). Interesting...

Would be happy to hear what you are all seeing. It would also be helpful to state with which cards you have tested it with. Amex would also be interesting but don't have a German issued one to test.
