"Wallet & Apple Pay" has appeared on my MBP! Can't set up and German cards though. I've put in my UK ones and they all activated nicely (never bothered with the Region workaround). Region on MBP has been set to Germany since purchase in August.

Nothing on AW or iOS. Anyone else?
Nope, nothing on iMac (10.14) or MBP (10.13).

As far as I know the "Wallet & Apple Pay" option will only appear on MBP's with Touch ID (newer gen). My iMac doesn't show the settings either. I tried to bring them up by switching to the UK on the iMac but still nothing. Or am I misinformed?

Yeah as far as I know only devices with the Touch Bar can set up Apple Pay. All other MacBooks later than 2012 without Touch Bar will need an Apple Pay enabled device such like iPhone or iPad in order to be able to use Apple Pay.

You're right. Had forgotten that Apple bundles Apple Pay on the Mac with this already dead technology "touchbar" ...
(not on one single desktop computer, not even the iMac pro, not on all mobile macs)

what i discovered on my regular tries to add some of my German cards to the wallet:
The usual process steps that I see after using the camera or editing the information manually is that Apple Pay tries to contact the card issuer and then show me the notification box "not suppoted yet yadda yadda yadda". correct?

Today, at one of my cards there was a "setting up the card for Apple Pay" step before showing the box. Don't know if this has something to say or if the process was a little bit slower this time and this message disappears to fast to read it?

Just to inform you: no change in region settings in that json file
Yep, I checked ;-)

Btw the activation of the settings for Apple Pay doesn't depend on the JSON file provided. That's just the authorisation to make adding cards possible (ie. on iOS via the small + button).

I would also like to put some statistics. Apple Pay was introduced in Russia on 4 October 2016. iPhone 7 was released in September 16 and iOS 10 on September 13. Ofc the announce date may still vary for Germany. However, the closest date can be the first week of October.

Dont think so because of the 3.10.

Polish bank PKO once again confirmed on Twitter that they are on track to launch Apple Pay in September. That's only this week left. It doesn't have to mean anything for Germany, yet the only week in October left that is free for such a launch is calendar week 42.

What I am thinking about? Does Apple care of the holiday? If they would launch on 4. oct, why should it matter?
The banks need to have time for initial IT support. Apple and the (larger) banks will certainly agree on a timeframe.

When you look at previous release dates it was Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. So they not always gave the banks really much days after the release. Thursday 4th would be same case as other countries.
I don't believe that Apple takes this support into calculation.

I could be wrong but it seems foolish to launch a feature which requires resources of companies where staff normally would be on leave. Every professional deployment process should include monitoring. If problems arise on the banks’ back-ends (e.g. authorisation) and there is none or limited staff to fix it, this will trigger unnecessary frustration in the user experience. I‘d like to think Apple has it’s risk management in check and accounts for this scenario.

Do u really think that the ppl doing service to the main Backend infrastructure of banking are on something like weekend or holiday...

Normally, yepp. IT staff also love long weekends. But if major rollouts have to be managed, „Urlaubssperren“ are set.

Don‘t think that this week will something happen. We would already know. There were always rumors and leaks the days before.

Is this page really new? Thought I have seen it a few days ago...

BTW: No change in region json-file
[doublepost=1537986907][/doublepost]Another thing: met a friend working for Sparkasse today, told me that there were an internal mailing bout mobile payment in the last few days. Stating that mobile payment will start on a specific day. He didn’t really read it but said it was not about google in a specific way. Just stating that mobile payment will start. He’s going to read the mailing and going to tell me more...

(I have some more information bout dates etc, but don’t wanna write about it for keeping my friend out of giving away internal information maybe being able to track back to him)

The polish bank PKO wrote today on Twitter, that they want to share more information about their Apple Pay rollout on October, 2nd. So Apple Pay in DE next week?

I also think so, the probability for the next week launch is extremely high.
