Battery life is still horrible on 7 Plus

[doublepost=1511955620][/doublepost]
Believe it or not but there are millions of people out there who never heard of a tvOS profile workaround.
And once u update to ios11 and experience the slow GUI there is only ranting left or buying a new phone.

So u wonder why some people don't accept Apples planed obsolescence???
They are in denial. iOS 11 has made it clear as day that planned obsolescence exists.

Using a 6s and 5s and neither of them has slowed down from iOS 11b5.
My 6 and iPad Air 2 have slowed down on iOS 11.

My 6 and iPad Air 2 have slowed down on iOS 11.
Takeaways:
1. Planned obsolescence doesn’t exist unless it can be proven. Opining is not proving nor is claiming the denial meme.
2. Battery life is better on my 6s.
3. B5 is subtely more fluid.

All of my devices on iOS 11 have battery drain and stuttering. Fact as in real world. So nothing wrong in me saying planned obsolescence exists as my devices are trapped on slower iOS versions.

None of my iOS 11 devices on b5 have neither of these. Facts. QED: planned obsolescence just doesn’t exist except as an unproven meme.

I had iOS 11 on both iPads (went back to 10 for other reasons) and iOS 11 on an iPhone 7 and iPhone X. Zero battery issues. Specifically, no change at all in battery use on either iPad or the iPhone 7. Comparison on the X is obviously impossible, but it gets amazing battery life (as you'd expect, with that monster battery pack).

I have full right to say planned obsolescence exists because my devices have been ruined with no way out.
Sure and I have full right to ask for proof since that’s what you “accuse” Apple of doing. I don’t doubt planned obsolescence exists; it has to to make consumer goods affordable. It just doesn’t exist in the nefarious way you allege. All of that stuff eventually comes out and I’m waiting for the inevitable breaking story that won’t happen.

The proof is my slowed down devices

Yes it's already come out for a certain percentage of Apple's user base and as said earlier a sale is a sale.

There is a petition started for ios10. More than 300 thousand signers.

So probably u got an individual software version running as good as new...

For all the others:

Here's the petition to make iPhones last longer, because Apple has been sabotaging devices for years with software "upgrades" that slow every device except the very latest model.

It's a strategy called planned obsolescence, and its one of the ways that Apple and other gadget makers are getting so filthy rich while the planet and everyone else pays.

Will you take a look and sign the petition too:

300,000 out of a few hundred million? .15%? No wonder Apple is seemingly not responding.

As far as the petition no thank you.

That’s not proof. I really hope “the planned obsolescence “ crowd takes this to heart. My stock in Apple can only go up. But your right, you can’t “prove” why anybody bought a phone other than yourself.

Then why have the devices slowed down?

Sure every iPhone user knows about the petition;)

don't put yourself in this ignorant corner.

In the U.K. at least if a petition gets 100,000 signatures, it will be considered for debate in Parliament.

Not to mention if planned obsolescence results in at least 100 people upgrading Apple still wins. They don't need everyone to upgrade.

You certainly have the right to say you think that's what's happening. Thinking something doesn't it make it so though just on its own. We've been over this far too many times that it's beyond silly.

That's all good and fine. It doesn't actually prove a malicious conspiracy though.

The petition is just an empiric proof of slowdown. And there are dozens if not hundred articles u find on google of slowdowns. Arstechnica has measurements for the 5s:

Please provide me any reports or numbers stating the opposite.

If its not obsolescence maybe Apple just can't afford good programmers :)

How do you want to proof it? with an evaluation lead by the United Nations?

[RANT ON] If Apple isn't engaging in planned obsolescence then that means that Apple just doesn't give AF about optimizing their newer iOS versions to keep the older devices responding as snappy as they used to. That's just as bad.

It doesn't need to do anything faster than before, nor do I expect it to be as fast as newer models with faster processors, but it certainly SHOULD NOT BE DOING THINGS SLOWER THAN BEFORE!!! Yes, I'm yelling in all caps.

Apple has not introduced a new iPhone that didn't have a fast response time between telling it to do something and it starting to do that something. Show me a 3 year old iPhone or iPad that's on a newer iOS that responds like it did when it was new. Benchmarks not changing that much doesn't matter when every-day actions are slow as molasses now.

IT JUST TOOK 22 SECONDS TO OPEN SAFARI AND LOAD THE PREVIOUSLY OPEN MACRUMORS WEBSITE ON MY 128GB iPHONE 6!

IT JUST TOOK 9 SECONDS TO LOAD MUSIC, 8 SECONDS TO LOAD PHOTOS, 7 SECONDS TO LOAD SETTINGS, AND 4 SECONDS TO LOAD CALENDAR, REMINDERS and NOTES!

SERIOUSLY?!?! Don't tell me it was that slow before iOS 11. You'll embarrass yourself.

Now, if the apps are already loaded they launch much faster, but with the limited RAM once I play a few games on the 6 then the standard apps start to take a long time to load again. Once inside an app, performance doesn't seem that bad, but when turning on the device and launching apps the 6 is now slow AF.

We have two iPad Mini 4 here - mine is on iOS 11.1.2 and my wife's is still on iOS 10.3.3 and everything objectively launches and opens much quicker on her's with the old iOS, just like mine did before the upgrade. Whether launching an app or getting the keyboard to pop up, mine feels more sluggish in comparison to hers (and vs how it was before).

My iPad Air 2 on iOS 11.1.2 is no longer slightly faster than an iPad Mini 4 - it's halfway between my Mini 4 on iOS 11 and hers on 10.3.3. Even then, at least it's not as bad as my iPhone 6, and the Mini is still useable.

Typically, I'm finding that the older the device, the worse the issue - my 1 year old iPhone 7+ is only very slightly slower than my son's 7+ which he still has on iOS 10.3.x, so I hardly notice the difference and I'm happy with iOS 11 on the 7+. I don't have my 6s+ to compare speeds anymore, but my daughter's 5SE is still fairly snappy on iOS 11.

But my 6 is useless now, about as slow as my old iPhone 4s on iOS 9.3.x, and worse than my Mini 4 and Air 2 of the same age. Fortunately I've been able to leave my other daughter's iPhone 6 and our spare 5s on 10.3.3, as well as my wife's iPad Mini 4. My son's 7+ is on 10.3.1 which ticks me off that he blew it and can't get 10.3.3 now. [/RANT OFF]

I agree not all devices slow down, much. I still have NO idea why my old 5s is still pretty responsive on iOS 10.3.3 when it shipped with a much older version, but it's probably a fluke just like your older device running faster on iOS 11. My 5s on 10.3.3 runs faster than my iPhone 6 or Mini 4 on iOS 11, and if the 5s was my only device I'd probably be an "Planned Obsolescence Denier" too.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation

Proofs are called proofs for a reason.

PS: All those apps load 4-5x faster on my iPhone 7+ with iOS 11.1.2 and it seems like 1-2 year old devices are safe, and the tipping point is with a 3 year old device.

I've decided that I should NEVER upgrade an Apple device that wasn't introduced last year or the year before.
[doublepost=1511989082][/doublepost]

Just like most people agree the climate is warming, but can't agree on the cause.

I agree not all devices slow down, much.
And there you have it--experiences aren't universal it seems. If it was truly something really maliciously planned seems like everyone would be in the same boat, but while there are people with bigger issues or issues that affect them to a larger degree, there are others (with same type of devices as well) that don't have those type of issues or nowhere to the same degree.

My two 5s and 6s run pretty good on iOS 11. This includes my 6s+ and 7. Why you are seeing that in your iPhone 6 i don’t know, but it’s not what I am seeing.
