Below is the config I ordered and it's due to arrive at my house on Monday, I'm located just outside of Toronto. Crazy fast.
I think they send them in the country and then dispatch from local facilities to be honest yes.
That’s what happens when they deliver iPhones too, they come from a local location. Hopefully they deliver on time because a part from being curious about the new processors I also need a laptop because I sold mine 😀
So I took a look on the iPhone threads - people were tracking UPS flights on Flight Aware. I take it all shipments to the US from Shanghai (PVG) go through Anchorage (ANC)? Is that most likely true for laptops? So if a package was through "Export Scan" they might be on their way?

Eastern Canada here, Ordered 16/256 Mini on the 10th, shipped the 13th, currently in Hong Kong and on its way. Scheduled for delivery on the 17th.
My 16g/8core/512g now shows a delivery time of 11:45am-3:45pm on Monday. Left Shanghai. I can't believe I'm this excited tracking my new toy across the world. Feels like the iPhone 5 all over again. 
The only update is that the ETA changed from: Monday 10am - 2pm to "Scheduled delivery, check back later." The only explanation is that Apple has forced UPS' hand and told them to hold these packages until launch day, 11/17

Everyone seems to be getting shipments pushed up ~a week that would certainly be awesome hoping, would love to get mine end of this week or next vs December 7-14th

Yes. I ordered day after. Originally showed 11/17-11/24. I had to modify the order, now shows 12/4 - 12/11. ARRRG!
My MBP 256GB/16GB RAM order was updated this morning and is now showing as shipped with a delivery day of 11/19 revised from the 11/24-27 Hoping it gets here sooner.
Me too! Probably because November 16 isn’t the launch date for the new macs. So, they’re holding it until the 17th.
Maybe, but the reason for the "date tentative" warning could also be some other reason we are not aware of. Still, the Apple Store website states a delivery date of November 18th but I do hope UPS delivers on the 16th.
Mine just changed to preparing to ship. Yay!! My 2012 MBA died 2 months ago so can’t wait for the delivery.
I received an update on my MBA that it is ”being processed at the clearance agency”. I would say that my MBA is ahead of most of everyone else‘s MacBooks on this forum leaving Shanghai.
