We seem to be in a dry spell. Wonder if supply is dwindling based on huge demand that's been building.

Seems like a lot of people bought refurbs just to flip them on Ebay. Maybe shop owners or resellers? I don't see many getting into the hands of actual end-users or Mini enthusiasts like us.

I agree. Looks like the flippers have discovered the refurb store and are having a field day. Doesn't look as good anymore for the small-time regular Apple customer on a budget looking for value to simply replace his aging machine.

This exactly my situation. I've just about given up hope for a refurb quad from Apple. I'm thinking of just going with 2012 dual, so now I'm trying to decide between a 2012 i5 and a steeply discounted 2014 mid-level i5.

Geez I shouldve bought a lotto ticket instead with how lucky I was to snag a 2.3 i7 refurb about 2 weeks ago.

GO GO GO...all 3 models available now!!!

Yes, snagged a quad for myself.

I've had a script polling the site for the last week and paging me if any minis appeared. It actually pinged me a minute or so before they appeared on the site - I guess they upgrade their html in stages. So that was nice.

Finally snagged a quad-core thanks to refurb tracker which alerted me at 5:47 PM PST. ReFurbMe only alerted me at 6:03 PM PST.

The fees to sell on eBay is contributing to the explosion in prices. I had an extra new & sealed i7 2.6 from Best Buy that I sold on eBay. CL was full of low-ballers! In my listing, I had a "Buy It Now" for $975. I listed it in the morning this week...4 hours later, received an email that someone bought it! eBay will take 10% of the sale (anything that is charged to the buyer, which includes shipping). The shipping fees that a buyer selects doesn't include insurance -- so that's about an extra $10 - $15 cut. In addition, PayPal takes a 2.9% cut... essentially you have to set your reserve price high to ensure you don't end up with a loss if you sell using the Auction feature and / or Buy It Now!!!

e.g. refurb for i7 is around $630 with taxes... you have to price it at least 14% above what you intend to profit. $800 => profit is $42

I used Paypal for seller protection.

Snagged an i7 server (Refurbished Mac mini 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 with OS X Server)

Going to upgrade my 2011 Mac mini to a 2012 :) Should have it all ready to go by 2015 ;)

Just ordered the i7 server! Hopefully it comes with extra ram so I can return the ram I just ordered. I got a killer deal on an i5 a day ago, but now I don't have to order the dual drive kit and a bigger hard drive!

I just got an i5. My 2011 MacBook Pro died last week, and I'd upgraded the RAM in that to 16GB and an SSD. I replaced it with a new 15" MacBook Pro so figured I may as well get some use out of the stuff I bought for the old MacBook. I know the SSD is working but haven't tested the RAM - will it fit the Mac Mini?

Mac mini (Late 2012) and Mac mini server (Late 2012) computers have two internal memory slots. These slots accept standard PC3-12800 DDR3 204-pin SO-DIMMs (Small Outline DIMM) with the following specifications:

PC3-12800 DDR3
Unbuffered
Non-parity
204-pin module
1600 MHz

isn't this too much? the apple refurb is 2.6 quad for $589 right…
When Amazon still had them in stock, they were $799.99. For a while Best Buy was selling them at $749.99...then they saw the market and got greedy and increased their price to "sale" price of $789.99!!! People were buying them with the mover's coupon.

FWIW -- the reburbs are "new" (Serial numbers didn't even change for the ones I've received ...else they'd have the 4th and 5th digits reflect most recent months)

Your referring to the base configurations correct? I'm hoping to snag a fusion drive BTO myself.

That would be sweet if the two I ordered are both "new" may sell one on eBay then.

My refurb just shipped...shipping from San Bernardino, CA. Is this normal?

Thanks!

I had two shipped from there tonight also.
