The pricing is SO bad. They've pushed the prices up for all the other iPads as well. Apple are getting scummy with their pricing.

Really? I just checked the and the M2 12.9 iPad Pro is the same price as the M1 12.9 iPad Pro?

Hmm. And a few other nuanced differences here and there. Makes me wish a little I had the 5th gen Air over the 4th to get Stage Manager support, but in reality I know that doesn't matter AT ALL as I have a Mac Studio connected to a 34" Ultrawide and with whatever Apple calls the screen thing / Sidecar / Universal Control, I can do so much of that that I would realistically never connect my Air to an external display.

$449 while the old model stays at $329.

Should have expected those shenanigans, it would’ve been too good to be true otherwise.

Edit: 1gen Apple Pencil support with USB-C dongle needed? What a joke.
Yeah crazy they created a new model with new more powerful hardware and charged more for it. Would you have preferred they not offer the old model anymore for people who don’t want to pay extra for the extra features? Everything will have to go usb-c so in your mind should they have just told people apple 1 pencil is not supported rather than saying it is but with a dongle?

I was excited about this, but it starts at too high a price and has Apple's standard $150 upgrade fee to go from 64GB to 256GB. That brings the total to $599 which..... is the exact price of the iPad Air!

What a mess. Still offering the gen 9 iPad? Gen 1 Apple Pencil support? Only with a USB-C to Lightning dongle? Why? This was the big opportunity to simplify the lineup to have a unified charging and accessory landscape and they went and made it even more confusing. This is how Apple went down the first time, but this time Steve's not coming to save them again. Sad.

Once again Apple completely muddled up and complicated the damn iPad lineup. This is the stuff I do miss from the Jobs era the most, which is these half baked products wouldn't have been released. Too much confusion. This is straight out of the Tim Cook Playbook. 11"pro/Air/10th gen and 9th gen...too much

This is BONKERS. The budget iPad gets the landscape camera, a better keyboard option, and the Pro gets…. A new chip? Insane.
Not fully laminated display, A14, only supports 1st gen pencil, 64GB base storage, less RAM

The iPad is in many ways inferior to the Air/Pro. At this new elevated price, I don't think it's worth it tbh.

Now there is no reason for me to consider the entry level ipad anymore. Apple has successfuly upsold us all to their higher end models. They increased the prices all around the board. There is no point in buying this one with its massive price increase. Screen size now identical to the air. I'm sick of the greed tactics.

I think I've said enough.
