Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

I’ve owned regular aluminum, Nike and stainless steel and honestly I think it’s worth the extra quid for a SS version. I actually just changed my mind and went from an aluminum s7 to SS because my pre-order day decision was eating at me lol
Ah cheers. Which colour did you opt for? The graphite looks nice but seems as if silver is available for launch day. Is it also prone to scratches?

Hey

Question about the nike watch, ive always had the normal ones.

Are they exactly the same as normal ones apart from bands and additional faces / app?

Do they also include all the standard faces which the standard watch’s do too? I assume the straps are as good as the apple sport ones for running / swimming etc

In other words, I guess I’m not losing anything atall just gaining features?

thanks
Marc
Marc,

For the most they are the same. There some writing on the back of the actual watch, it comes pre loaded with NRC app (Nike Run Club) and then the feature you mentioned, Nike branded watch bands and Nike watch faces. The latter being exclusive. Any Nike strap is based around the component of fitness/sports activity so yes the bands are just as good. Any Nike band with the holes hold up really good against sweat with their extra breathability. All good gains, based on your usage taken into account.

I agree, but I go for the Titanium black. It's a subtle matte and looks great.

I mean the plan for me is to upgrade against next year assuming apple release the flag edge design, if I’m planning to do that, would it be worth still getting SS and then selling it again next year? I’m not even sure what the resale value is for these models.

So… another order change for me. Decided to cancel my order with Apple and go with Curry’s, as I get 7% discount on instant gift cards through work and they have stock for launch day delivery (allegedly). I’m also selling my Series 5 with Mazuma for £135. It’s got a few scratches on the screen, so it’ll be hard to sell privately because of that.

If you had done store pickup and traded the SE in store even without adding it in preorder , the Apple store guy would have applied the trade in amount to the original cost.
They were no availability for pickup in the parisians Stores…

Unlike iPhones, watches don't seem to hold resale as well. My $850 Series 6 Titanium will fetch about $330 on commercial sites. Apple would give me $270. Going private sale, you might get $400 or so.

Would you say its still worth getting though?

Originally bought a product red and red braided solo loop and I’ll be returning it when it arrives because I ordered the silver stainless steel with dark cherry sport loop.
If silver is available for launch day in your area I’d be all over it but my advice would be to take your time and decide and order what you love even if there’s an extra wait involved.

My s6 gold SS is in perfect condition with no scratches. Also had an s5 gold SS and used it for a year without a scratch on it either. So I’d say these are pretty good for scratch resistance.

If resale value is a concern nothing will beat the aluminum. If you’re going to only be keeping the SS or titanium for a year and selling it you’ll take a hit for sure. What I do is have two apple watches and upgrade the older one every year so I’m keeping every watch for at least 2 years.

What are you guys doing about charging? Now that apple doesn’t include a brick are you just buying a brick separately or is there like a USB c charging hub with multiple ports that someone can recommend (that would be able to charge all my new apple devices)

I don’t understand Apple’s inventory strategy. A green Series 7 watch with a green strap is still available for 10/15 delivery, and the nearest ten stores all have stock for 10/15 pickup. Change to a blue band and delivery is 11/24.

Why wouldn’t Apple just keep an inventory of all band choices so that you can mix and match whatever you want? The shortage is on the watch itself. I can’t imagine why there would be a shortage of blue bands.

Amazon is always having sales on 3rd party USB chargers. There is no reason to buy an Apple one unless it’s on sale.

I bought this one recently:

You might as well get one with two USB C ports. All Apple devices are heading that way.

I’ve placed an order for a silver SS for collection, will check how it looks when I’m at apple.

Yup, several gains, a different band, and nothing lost. I personally love the Nike faces.

So I’ve ordered the Nike edition starlight for release day collection. I’ve just seen that there’s a stainless steel cellular 45mm available for collection as well, I’ve never owned SS having always opted for aluminium but is it worth the extra £300?
For me personally, it's worth it, without question. I didn't "get it" until I bought my first SS, then I understood. That said, I've also loved my aluminum watches, but the SS just feels more premium, more like jewelry.

Do you have the silver one? If so, does it have a lot of scratches
