Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

Do you have the silver one? If so, does it have a lot of scratches
Yes, I have a Series 5 silver SS. I've worn it a ton, and am not especially careful with it, and it looks pristine. Great thing about the silver SS is that scratches, if they happen, can easily be polished out with Cape Cod polishing cloths.

Are you able to post a pic of yours and how it looks? Just wanna know if it’s worth justifying the extra £300 for the watch if I plan on upgrading next year IF the flat edge design comes out.

I was very lucky with my pre-order, I was able to get one of the 2020 winter bands before they got discontinued!

So, I was pretty quick with my order this morning by I ended up with 10/26-10/28. Wondering if it was my choice of the Nike that resulted in the delayed delivery? Did anyone get a release day delivery for a Nike version? (Mine, specifically, is a Nike Series 7 GPS + Cellular, 45mm Midnight Aluminum with Midnight Navy/Mystic Navy Nike Sport Band.)

I was pretty quick this morning but I did make one mistake -- I was ready to check out and realized I'd forgotten the trade-in.
I ordered the 45 Nike AW GPS with olive gray band with October 15 delivery

Here's a photo I took last month. There's some light reflections but no scratches. I wipe it with my shirt sleeve regularly but have never had to actually polish it. :)

Thanks for the feedback. I think you’re right. I’m going to pair the stainless steel with this amazing shell cordovan color #8 band I have. Will basically look like this except for a silver SS instead of gold SS lol. My s6 will keep me company while I wait lol. I appreciate the gentle nudge to do what I know I really should be doing :)View attachment 1861062
That looks like black cordovan?

I’m currently in the process of getting one created, I’ll be going Amaretto Marble, however, both colour number 4 and 8 look great

Would you say its still worth getting though?

The big advantage of the Titanium (and I think the SS has it too) is the ruby sapphire glass front, which is more resiliant than what's on the aluminum. Other factors, like lesser weight, are far less noticeable. The Tltanium also is more scratch resistant. It's also more matte, while SS is more shiny, But that's a personal preference.

I’ll probably just compare the two on Friday haha. See if it’s worth the extra 300 quid.

Marc,

For the most they are the same. There some writing on the back of the actual watch, it comes pre loaded with NRC app (Nike Run Club) and then the feature you mentioned, Nike branded watch bands and Nike watch faces. The latter being exclusive. Any Nike strap is based around the component of fitness/sports activity so yes the bands are just as good. Any Nike band with the holes hold up really good against sweat with their extra breathability. All good gains, based on your usage taken into account.

Yup, several gains, a different band, and nothing lost. I personally love the Nike faces.
Great thank you!

And I guess all the original Apple Watch faces are available, the Nike ones are just additional not replacements?

The 🐐 says this Thursday Aus time. 😁😂

It’s either Tue or Wed 9am when embargoes usually lift so it’s not some out of the blue surprise. I should start my own twitter doing ”exclusive predictions”.

My next prediction: Apple will release the Series 8 sometime in September 2022, and it’ll be faster, brighter and generally better!

Actually, it's pretty smooth. Not like it would be on a large screen monitor, but it is noticeable in many situations, like Microsoft Flight Simulator. But I usually have it hooked to a 120 Hz widescreen Samsung Thunderbolt monitor anyways.
macOS +120hz would be heaven, charged my M1 MacBook Pro to 100% last night, been using it for a little while this morning, battery hasn't moved from 100% these Macs are more than efficient for 120hz.

Can't believe they haven't fixed the stupid last fully charged bug on the left hand side. 🤦‍♂️ seems like nothing is getting fixed at apple these days. Apparently It was last fully charged on the 5th. 😂

So much sexiness going on with this combo. 🤦‍♂️😳 that price tag though. 😂

According to this comparison the sapphire glass is worst with reflections. Not sure if there are other studies that confirm this:

So I’ve ordered the Nike edition starlight for release day collection. I’ve just seen that there’s a stainless steel cellular 45mm available for collection as well, I’ve never owned SS having always opted for aluminium but is it worth the extra £300?

I‘m a bit different from everyone else here. My first few watches (I’ve owned every series) were SS. The current one is aluminum. And going from SS to Al didn’t change my experience, at all.

So this time, I’m getting the midnight Al. If I don’t like the color, I’ll get SS. I do not like the Starlight.

Really hoping I like the midnight and that it is black, not blue.

Honestly, I love the green and the red, but I need a watch I can wear with everything.

Here is a conversation I had with an Apple rep today regarding trade-ins.

I can certainly get this order for an Apple Watch cancelled, may I ask why we are cancelling today?

Forgot to add trade in

I completely understand where you are coming from! Let me get this cancelled!

I do see this order is for in store pick up, you w may have the option to do a trade in in store and have the credit applied to this order. Would something like that work for you?

I heard about that but also heard the stores won’t accept trade ins at time of pickup

May I ask where you heard that information?

There’s a huge tread on macrumers.com

I see. So the resources I have access to have been approved by Apple themselves. With that said, it's awesome how you're able to find and use what resources you have access to. When it comes to trading in a device it is always better to be thorough, for sure! However, it's very easy to publish information on the internet so the best way to get the answer you're looking for we should rely on what's been released from Apple directly.

According to my resources you have 14 days after purchasing your device to bring your trade-in device (ready for trade-in) with your recently purchased device and it's receipt with the serial number as well as the credit or debit card that was used to complete the purchase of the new device.

You could also just take the trade-in device in alone and the way the trade-in would be processed is you would receive an Apple Gift Card code to your email that could be loaded to your Apple ID!

Ok, good information.

Thank you! I keep the order then!

I get the feeling. The S6 blue is nice but it’s very limited with straps that actually goes together. I am a fan of the starlight but I’ve also had aluminium for every watch I’ve had and I’ve managed to find a silver SS for store pickup. Never owned one so I just went and ahead and ordered. I’m not sure which I’m gonna keep but I’ll see Friday. I’m just not sure if I can justify the extra £300.

i used that 14 day window with my last iPad ordered on launch and picked later the same day

It’s an e3 color # 8 shell cordovan. I was checking earlier today and looks like e3 is out of business which is a damn shame. I’m going to be using this band with my s7 silver SS and I’m having c2 custom make a red leather and gold hardware band for my s6 gold SS.
Great choice with the amaretto marble. Custom leather bands are 100% the way to go. I just get the cheapest band combo with my watch because I know I probably won’t be using it lol
