Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

I went for the Series 7 Hermès, 41mm Silver Stainless Steel Case with Biscuit/Bleu Électrique Swift Leather. I’ve got launch day pick-up from the London Regent Street store. I am upgrading from a Series 6 40mm Silver Stainless Steel with Milanese Loop. Though I’ve noticed it’s more expensive to buy the Hermes model above vs. buying the stainless steel + band separately (the extra money goes towards the exclusive orange sports band, 2 year warranty, premium packaging and etc which I don’t really care about!). So I might actually return and do that instead if I can find it before the return period ends.

When I was ready to order mine at 7AM CDT US, I had to wait about 6 minutes for the store to finally open up. Ordered in about 4 minutes with confirmation email at 7:09AM CDT. The fact I actually had to wait the 6 minutes had me puzzled, but I was able to get my Watch for delivery 10/15.

Bought Apple Watch Series 7 Graphite with Milanese loop at 8:04 AM EST on pre-order day. Have to wait until Nov 2 - 9th. I'm looking into visiting local Apple Store this Friday to see if I can pick one up instead.

Apple doesn't let everyone in at once, they stagger it. In the past, sometimes I wait several minutes, sometimes I got in instantly. It varies from year to year, you never know. But the app tends to get you in faster than a web browser.

I was able to order both my IPhone 13 Promax Sierra Blue on it’s September preorder day, and the Hermes SBSS Apple watch 45mm within the in the first minute of the app going live at 5am. Fastest ordering ever, as I received the confirmation email for both at 5:01ampst.!!!

A bunch of this stainless steel configuration just popped up for in store pickup on Friday. If you are in the USA, check your local apple store to see if they updated their stock.. I dont care about the band, I will be using my graphite Milanese from the 6.
What do you do, check every combo in the studio? I can check the solo sport, solo braided and Milanese options pretty quickly but the studio is a pain to check dates for delivery or in store. There has to be an easier way

I noticed that this same configuration is available for pickup on Friday at my Apple store as well. Very tempting as I originally was going to order a SS but ended up getting a midnight because I didn't want to wait. Now I'm having trouble justifying the extra $300 again...

You missed the exclusive Hermès watch faces. I use those almost 100% of the time.

I‘m a bit different from everyone else here. My first few watches (I’ve owned every series) were SS. The current one is aluminum. And going from SS to Al didn’t change my experience, at all.

So this time, I’m getting the midnight Al. If I don’t like the color, I’ll get SS. I do not like the Starlight.

Really hoping I like the midnight and that it is black, not blue.

Honestly, I love the green and the red, but I need a watch I can wear with everything.
I also love the green, the red, and I also love the blue. I wouldn’t switch to SS or Ti only because of colors. I always have something very colored on me. For one, my prescription eye glasses frame is… red. So this year I will upgrade to a red S7. And I’ll wear it with everything. Switching through bands but I cannot wait to see it red on my wrist.

I’m going for the green. The color looks kind of subtle anyway. But, I don’t mind mixing colors that don’t traditionally “go together.” So, even its it’s less subtle than I‘m thinking, I’m okay with it. I’ve loved my S4, but looking forward to the upgrade and the new/new-to-me features.

The stainless is nice and worth the extra money IMO. My first  watch was a Space Grey aluminum model.

I wanted the Space Black SS, but at the time it only came with the SB Link band and cost like $1100 total. I dealt with only having the SGAl and enjoyed it until I scratched it like a month or so into ownership. Around June/July 2015 or something like that, Apple finally started selling the SBSS with a sports band for like $600 or so. I sold my SGAl on Craigslist and picked up the SBSS.

Immediately fell in love with the weight of the watch and how premium the deep glossy finish looked. I loved that it matched the vast majority of the bands available and always looked great. The durability took awhile to realize, as I was super careful with it after scratching my first  watch. Eventually I hit the SBSS on something and expected the worst and it was fine. Realized this watch could truly take a beating and stopped worrying about it as much.

Fast forward to the Series 4 launch and my OG watch had a faded OLED screen, but the watch crystal and body were still flawless after 3+ years. Made the decision to order another SS watch that much easier to do despite the price of a 42mm SS watch rising to $750.

This time I thought I’d convinced myself that I was going to order a Blue Al watch and keep my SBSS Series 4 to wear bands that wouldn’t match the Blue or when I needed to dress up the watch a little bit. About a day before preorders went live, I started to think about how I scratched my first  watch a month into ownership and how poorly my wife’s Al Series 4 has aged even in comparison to her OG Series 0 Al watch and told myself to just order a Graphite SS and trade in my SBSS S4 to lessen the blow.

Then about 12 hours before preorder time, I realize I’ve essentially worn the same watch for 6 years and decided to order the SBTi. 😩

Hopefully the Ti is low maintenance as my SBSS watches have been.

Sorry for the long post y’all…
I have also worn a SS since the first launch and I have also switched to the Neutral Ti. I’m hoping it will feel a little bit less heavy than my SS.

Thanks for the heads up!!! Ordered mine right when the store went live and it had to be shipped cause all stores near me showed unavailable for pickup, and ended up with delivery between nov 2-9. After seeing your post, decided to check again and boom!…. Available to pickup this Friday. Cancelled my original order, and re-ordered. Good looking out!

It is 10:16PM in SFO. Ahhh! I’m finally in my hotel room. I was out exploring all day. I had a really long and productive day. I don’t see anyone with an active UPS scans yet. Not to worry. Tomorrow is the day.

Time to catch up with all the comments again :)

Same in the UK store. A few configs now available.

I’ve ordered SS but thinking of switching to titanium. I’m guessing there’s zero chance of them being available for pickup on Friday.
