Do you plan on ordering the new Apple Watch Series 7 (2021) this September?

I asked this question before in different threads. Seems like nobody knows for sure. For the series 6 I found it only on the spanish apple page advertised as dlc. A few people wrote they asked an Apple specialist (whatever that means) and they confirmed to them it isn’t dlc coated. But I won’t give a s**t on such informations. We need an official statement from Apple.

hmmm annoying. I am on a 3 year upgrade cycle so won’t want anything that gets dinged up easily! The space black series 4 SS looks the same as the day I bought it.

Googled apple watch 7 DLC and one site is suggesting its included on the SB titanium model.
I had the SB Ti 6, it was immaculate when i sold it last week, but then I did use a plastic cover on it during heavy activities.

Am I correct in my assumption that Apple won’t charge for the full amount until the item is about to ship?

when I pre-ordered on Friday my CC was hit with a pending charge right away for the full amount (probably because apple had stock). Delivery is on Friday.

Yesterday I changed my mind and ordered another model that has an early Nov ship date. So far no pending charges have hit my CC. So I think if the item is in stock they’ll hit your CC with a pending charge at time of order. If it’s out of stock they’ll wait until it’s in stock to hit your CC

Good morning! Happy Sunday! It is October 10th, 2021, 06:56AM in San Francisco, California. Last day here before I head home back to Las Vegas.

Today is the day. Today I’m expecting to see UPS scan show up along with some tracking movement. I hope everyone is going to have a wonderful day.

Can anyone confirm if the graphite has the dlc coating? I have the space black series 4 and it’s held up flawlessly until now, but reluctant to go for a finish on the series 7 that might be worse.
I am 99% sure that it is DLC coating. I’ve had my Graphite for a year now and it’s absolutely mint. Sold it today as I pick up my S7 Graphite in Friday

Ordered 13:08 UK (8:08 EST), email immediately. Paid £800 on 3 gift cards and £450 on debit card. Full charge taken out 2pm UK time.

May help someone, but I know Credit cards are different than debit cards etc and different for different regions. FWIW, went to preparing to ship on Friday too, for Friday 15th delivery :)

Well, last years S6 was actually advertised to have the dlc coating on some other language Apple websites. But this year it isn’t. I wouldn’t be too surprised if Apple just stopped the dlc treatment to make more money.. maybe they just don’t advertise it anymore to move more people to the SBTi Watch. Who knows… hopefully they make an official statement.

That’s strange why would Apple would remove the DLC coating?

I love SF !

In the marketing photos, the midnight 7 looks just like the blue 6. Any thoughts?
It does look dark blue and I think it will show that way in bright direct light. Look at reviews of the midnight iPhone 13 to see what the midnight aluminum sides look like.

I cancelled my pre order for starlight yesterday and reordered midnight but I’m not too convinced on the colour so I’ve cancelled that pre order as well. I’m just not 100% sure on either of them so have decided to wait until I can see them in real life or at least on YouTube to get a better idea… disappointed that I won’t get it on Friday but at least when I do I’ll hopefully be completely satisfied!

The only way I could get the watch on Oct 15 is if I picked it up at the Apple Store, which I decided to do. But now I can’t track it, but it’s okay.
TBH I would have picked in store pickup as my first choice if it was offered but it wasn’t at the stores near me. It’s really easy and the staff are always so nice to work with.

I find it interesting that pre-orders for launch day always seem to move to an order status that can’t be cancelled almost instantly. It’s almost as if the Apple marketing team knows about “buyers remorse” and the fact that most people can’t be bothered to return stuff.
It has nothing to do with potential buyers remorse - it's all about shipping logistics. Things need to move really fast when launch day is exactly one week from pre-order day. Once a shipping label has been placed on your watch (or phone, or whatever) and it has been placed on a pallet with hundreds of others, shrink wrapped, and ready to be loaded onto a cargo plane, there's no way they can remove one box because someone decided to cancel.

"Preparing to ship" status means the shipping label is printed and on your box, which is why that's the point where the cancel button disappears. It's just impossible at that point in the process to make changes to individual units.

I just rechecked and there have never been any watches of any finish for pickup in the Dallas-Ft Worth area. None. I have an aluminum coming with 26-28 Oct date but all the talk about SS has me thinking. I’ve had every watch from the beginning but always aluminum. If SS appears for in store pickup on launch day here I’m seriously considering trying SS.
Do it - it's so worth the extra $$.
