I'm still trying to figure out why many are considering the inclusion of USB-C as a "feature". Being able to charge your phone with a different cable seems like a very minor QOL change for those who may not want to carry around multiple cables for their devices. However, seeing as how most users have accumulated numerous lightning cables/chargers over the years, not to mention magsafe charging options, I'm not really seeing why USB-C is such a huge deal.

Better transfer speeds are one thing, but that more than likely only affects a very small percentage of users.

Agree. I wonder what’s the percentage of people who even manage their music via computer or transfer phones to other computers. I bet the majority use online services.

I love usb c but not something I’d upgrade for.

After thinking about it some more, if I get half of what I paid for the other 14 Pro Max to put towards the 15 Pro Max, then I’ll more likely upgrade. It also depends on the colors they release. I’m not worried about the other features, but getting used to USB-C will be an adjustment, as all of my Apple devices still use the lightning cable except the iPad Mini 6, I ordered last night. I’ll have to get used to carrying around 2 cables. Carrying around 1 cable was perfect for me, so we’ll see.
How are you liking mini? I got one a week ago but debating if really need it. Also if I upgrade from my 13pro to 15PM, is it redundant.

I love it. The battery life has been great, the 60hz isn’t bad, the size and weight has been great. I love how easy it is to handle and how light weight it has been, even with using a case. I was able to adjust to using Touch ID again. This will be great when we travel on Amtrak to Florida this summer. I’m definitely keeping it. I just have to remember to carry my cable. Luckily I already have several charging bricks that support the usb-c cable. I’m able to use 1 charging brick for my iPhone and other iPad.

Wow you went down to se?

Yes. I will be keeping my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I don't get bored with tools, I get bored with toys.
I don’t quite get the point you’re trying to make.

I mean I know what you’re trying to do, but the lines in this day and age have been blurred.

Sure, the iPhone is a tool. But it’s also an entertainment device, which can do many things.

Try taking a parent’s iPhone off of a kid in a doctor’s waiting room, who’s playing a game, and tell them it’s not a toy.

I will always prefer to use dedicated devices for entertainment, however blurred the lines become. And I don't believe the group of people who use a device as a computer/media substitute is bigger than the group who uses their devices as tools.

Lastly, that isn't a reaction my kids would have. They were taught to behave in public and tantrums were never tolerated. Respect for other people's property WAS taught. They also didn't get devices that were actually theirs until 15 and 12 respectively. They are 19 and 15 now.

Nah, keeping my phone until it breaks or is too slow with the latest iOS. Trying to keep in mind electronic waste and not unnecessarily create even more.

Almost certainly, yes. My iPhone X is now very tired: weird battery problems, overheating, and general flakiness. Battery life is the real problem - I don't want to carry a brick with me, but equally I don't want to have to worry about my phone dying a few hours after leaving the house.

I've been waiting for usb-c charging before upgrading, but mostly as a delaying tactic (I dislike waste and reuse is better than recycle).

However, I have been quite disappointed with Vodafone UK's + iPhone network performance the past few years. Call quality can be crap, 4G in particular can be crap even with three bars of signal (central London). My contract isn't cheap, but I rely on global traveler to keep costs down when abroad. I'd want to be sure that these problems are fixed with the new iPhone. It's a lot of money if all I really get is better battery life.

No

- I will not purchase any more Apple devices unless they have USB-C
- my iPhone 12 Pro is still working well
- what I really want is an iPhone Ultra Mini, titanium case, pro features and a plus size battery, go ahead and make it thick

If you are bored with the 14 pro max how long will the 15 really stay new and shiny to you though? 1 day? 2? It will not be a massive upgrade IMO and at rhw end of the day the jump from 14 to 15 won't feel "new"

It will stay shiny until the next shiny comes out.

No rush to replace my 11 Pro, it still works fine, and I have no reason to get a newer model anyway. Probably when the iPhone 16 comes out, that's when I'll upgrade.
