Almost certainly, yes. My iPhone X is now very tired: weird battery problems, overheating, and general flakiness. Battery life is the real problem - I don't want to carry a brick with me, but equally I don't want to have to worry about my phone dying a few hours after leaving the house.
I've been waiting for usb-c charging before upgrading, but mostly as a delaying tactic (I dislike waste and reuse is better than recycle).
However, I have been quite disappointed with Vodafone UK's + iPhone network performance the past few years. Call quality can be crap, 4G in particular can be crap even with three bars of signal (central London). My contract isn't cheap, but I rely on global traveler to keep costs down when abroad. I'd want to be sure that these problems are fixed with the new iPhone. It's a lot of money if all I really get is better battery life.
