Pixel 7 Pro. Camera is gorgeous but it overheats and battery life is abysmal.
Depending on the exact nature of your overheating issue, that may not be that uncommon. Truth be told: on hot summer days, every iPhone I’ve ever owned had problems with the heat, eventually reporting that it can’t function until it cools down.

... Except for the 14PM that I bought just recently. Gotta say, that particular improvement was a very pleasant surprise. (I imagine the 15 will likewise be better about heat management.)

That does make sense (hot environment, which I do live in), but I'm talking about watching YouTube and playing music inside, with AC (house/car). The battery life drops 1% by the second and I can only get a couple hours. Maybe I got a lemon... I don't know.

Do you think Apple will discontinue all previous Lightning iPhones when the 15 comes out?

No. My iPhone SE 2022 is doing what I need performance wise, it is easy to carry when I am out and the LCD screen does not present PWM eye issues. On occasion I contemplate going back to Android but from what I read the Galaxy S22's and S23's are bad for PWM and it is not possible to buy the most recent Pixel phones here.

Nope, especially if they get rid of the sim tray in Canada. No capacitive buttons and the mute switch should have stayed as is. You already have a programmable button on the lock screen button. Three clicks on the lock screen button brings up the assisted touch, for me, with better functions like a screen grab. Why they didn’t just expand the selection on the lock button and keep the mute is beyond me for this year. If they make a big deal out of something they already have, then Apple has truly run out of ideas.

iPhone 16 looks to have more changes.

Looks like we will be upgrading at least one of our 12 to a 15. Battery life on that 12 is quickly dropping (78% health) and our attempt to have the battery replaced by an authorized location semi-locally was a waste of time and gas. So we will do a phone shuffle come Sept. Pretty bummed we couldn’t get at least 4 years out of this phone without needing to carry a backup battery for a full day outing.

Currently on a Pacific Blue iPhone 12 Pro Max and its working just fine, however if the 15 pro max comes out in that Burgundy color, Washington Commanders fan here, i'll go for the upgrade (plus any tech/performance upgrades as well of course).

I doubt it. Mind you, I'm not in a position to have any specific insights... but my guess is that they will discontinue old products on exactly the same schedule that they have always used. The exception of course being that they apparently won't be able to continue selling Lightning products in the EU beyond 2024 -- but that doesn't mean Apple will stop selling them elsewhere beyond that date, until those products have run through their usual lifecycle.

iPhone 12 Pro, will trade it for iPhone 15 Pro. I always upgrade every 3 years, my work company pays for the hardware upgrade, as long is done every 3 years or more.

Yes, my 14 pro max battery hasn’t done so great.

I really want the periscope camera lens (just hope it’s closer to 10x like the competition has had for years), I want a titanium frame, more ram (12gb should be the minimum!), a more scratch resistant screen, a larger battery, and hopefully they don’t fudge the gpu this year.

If I could manage** my watch with an iPad, I'd ditch the iPhone for a flip phone (like all the youngins are doing).
I miss T-9 txting :)

** yeah the watch still has a bit to go to be able to drop the iPhone (ie CarPlay connectivity) but I find myself leaving my phone in the car often (unless I'm going to read).

I been flip flopping but I will only upgrade if the trade in deals from Apple are REALLY good AND the iPhone 15 really has something that impresses me or I would find really useful. Other wise, I very happy with my 14 pro max for another year like I mentioned. I just hope I don't fall into the hype or watch YouTubers videos that overhype it like iJustine and others.

Also, we all know one of those YouTubers is among us here................ LOL

I was planning on it, but sold my 13 Pro Max and got a 14PM. I realized I have so many lightning cables it would be a pain to change and I don’t want to pay more for the 15. I’ll wait a few years this time around.

The only thing that will get me to upgrade my 14 Pro Max is if they launch a Rose Gold Pro Max. That is the only thing that will make me upgrade on the spot, otherwise I’ll wait for the 16 Pro Max next year.

No. Because the 14->15 will be a smaller upgrade than 13->14. I believe iPhone 13, 15 etc are still "S" series phones even though Apple has stopped using that nomenclature.

I just bought a silver 12 Pro Max refurbished from Apple. I have a 14 Pro Max but the display sets off migraines. I’m going to give it to my husband since his 14 Pro Max has been acting up a little.

So I guess I downgraded. But I honestly don’t care anymore as long as I get an iPhone I can use without incurring neurological side effects. I’ll upgrade, I’ll downgrade. Whatever, just give me one that doesn’t make my eyes uncomfortable or my head hurt.

I use many Android phones just fine so it’s not me, per se. Apple does something different that my brain and eyes don’t like.

So, are they still called Washington Commanders? I sometimes slip up and call them by their original name because I’m 57 and I knew them by that name all my life. My husband had a burgundy Samsung S22 Ultra. It was gorgeous. I hope you get your burgundy iPhone.

Yes, i will upgrade from my 14 pro. I can extend my current contract in November, so ill sell my 14 pro, pay more then the 50% upfront and will sign a 1-yeat contract with T-Mobile and get the 128gb 15 Pro.

Looking forward for the titanium frame, hope it will reduce the weight so its as light as a regular 14. I really do hope the picture quality gets better as the processing is sometimes really bad. Usb c is a nice addition but not necessary for me.

I would be happy if we could us the main 48-mp camera in HEIF format so we can have all the quality of the 48 mp in a reasonable size.

I would also(which isn’t rumored)love to have a QHD screen.

I dont care of ONLY the Pro Max gets periscope, but would love to have it on the regular Pro. A 4-5 times optical zoom on the Pro, and 6-8 times on the Pro Max.

Also, i hope the battery life increases as my battery life tanked with IOS 16.5.1. And this 14 Pro i have now is 2 months old and at 100%.

The smaller footprint because of the slimmer bezels are very welcome aswell.

Upgrading from the 14PM to the 15PM or ultra or whatever it is. Work allows me to buy one phone per year through salary sacrifice, so I get the 10% tax refunded instantly, the phone gets bought out of pre-tax income so brings my total tax down saving me more money, and I sell the old phone each year. When you add it all up, I'm really not paying much per year to upgrade.

I will hopefully upgrade this year. I currently have the 12 Pro Max and the battery life is abysmal. Lasts about 4-5 hours after charging to 100%. And just recently I noticed the bottom main speaker no longer works so all of my sounds come from the earpiece which is awful.

Right now, I'm trying to decide should I get an iPhone 14 Plus (512 GB) or the upcoming iPhone 15 Plus (512 GB). I may end up with the iPhone 14 Plus (512 GB) because I worry the USB Type C port may not work with wired Apple Carplay on many cars.

Thx me too, the early renderings look really nice. And yes at this time that is the name, the Redskins are no longer unfortunately. But even more exciting is were finally going to be getting rid of Dan Snyder!

Not this year!

I personally don't get the thrill anymore of yearly upgrades! The more often i upgrade the less of an upgrade it feels and then it leaves me asking myself why do i keep going to this expense? The only reason i ditched my 12 Pro Max for the 14 Pro Max was due to my 12 having seriously bad battery life.

The 16PM or 17PM might tempt me next year, but im happy to continue with the 14PM.
