Depending on what the iPhone 15 comes with - I am looking at getting rid of my 13 Pro Max which has worked flawlessly and in perfect condition. However I want a phone that is slightly smaller.....
Have to ask… what would tip you over to let go of your 13 max?

After taking a quick look at what others are asking and this one is in pristine condition - 512GB storage and Apple case suitable for wireless charging - I am thinking about $1100 Canadian.... however would be open to offers. Also would not be until after I get the new phone.

Have not checked prices at this point - but seeing what the trade in price is I would say about $1000 Canadian. The phone has 512GB storage....
Ok, but I was thinking more of what the 15 would have to offer to make you upgrade?

Unfortunately, all current trade in values will go down at launch because will add the ip14 to the trade in list and then considered another year older.

Trading in 14 pro max 256gb to apple for 15 pro max , what is the estimate apple will be offering for the 14 pro max? Thanks for any information

At iPhone 14 launch, 13 Pro Max trade-in value was $720. No one really knows though. Could be less, could be more. I think trade in values were better for the 12 series at the 13 series launch than the 13 series was at 14 series launch.

So I’m considering selling my phone on ebay, but I‘m worried because my phone had a scratch on the front glass (you can feel it with your nail, it’s not just the coating) and it could devalue it. I have applecare, so will apple replace the screen if I pay the $29 service fee? Last thing I want is for the buyer to give me a hard time because of the screen, even if I’m as transparent as possible.

Also, for those who have sold on ebay, how much would a scratch like this devalue the phone? Here’s a picture of it, it was difficult to capture on camera with the glare.

Edit: Also, if the scratch goes all the way to the glass and I feel it with my nail, is it technically a crack? It’s pretty deep.

I can't speak directly to eBay trade-in values -- but I can speak somewhat to carrier trade-in values: My daughter had an iPhone with a cracked screen, (really cracked -- not just scratched) and we were looking at switching carriers. The carrier told us that her phone would be worth something like a couple hundred dollars more as a trade-in, if we just took the time to go get that screen replaced. The phone wasn't under warranty anymore, but the local repair shop only charged $42 for a one-hour repair job, and suddenly the phone looked pristine again. I figure that repair was well worth it.

Of course, you have factors both in your favor and against you, compared to my anecdote; your screen is only scratched -- but eBay shoppers might not be quite as ready to part with their money so easily as a carrier who's trying to win your business. So, I'd say it's probably a bit of a crapshoot.

I'm also limbering up to sell ahead of the 12th. Having not done this before, I'm after some advice.

I'm in the UK and have the 12Pro, 128GB, bought as part of a deal with EE but "No SIM restrictions" and battery is 86%. It has had a screen protector since purchase. No chips or scratches.

How much should I be looking for and where's best to sell? It has a Snakehive leather case, but should that stay as a feature or be removed?

(I have 3 months of SIM only contract left with EE - generally happy with them.)

This is the first I’m hearing about 8gb ram potentially only being on higher storage models. I was planning on getting 512gb but if the higher ram is only on the 1tb and up then that changes everything. Unfortunately they don’t really talk about ram before the phone comes out.

I know everyone always says how efficiently iPhones run that ram doesn’t matter but I swear I can’t even leave a form in Safari to check an email or text to find the information I need for the form without Safari ditching everything I’ve been filling out. The immediate closing of background apps is soooo wildly annoying. It sometimes closes Audible WHILE I’m listening. And ideally we’ll move forward to allow even more multitasking. The time for 6gb ram as the maximum option has long since passed. ****, sell increased ram as an optional upgrade like increased storage, but at least give us the option to have a reasonable amount of ram.

8GB was the rumor for all Pro models until this article a few weeks ago. Then, it became both 6GB and 8GB being tested, so maybe 8GB is only for higher storage models which has happened on the iPad Pro models.

Thank you. I'm actually leaning towards doing a trade in, but my worry is that T-mobile's rule of thumb is that if a scratch stops your fingernail from going across, it's considered cracked. And that's the case for me. I have AppleCare still so I'd only have to pay the $29 to get the screen replaced, but my question is if Apple would even do it? Is a scratch that goes all the way through the glass and that you can feel considered just "cosmetic damage"?

EBay would be the last place I sell something that expensive. So many horror stories of people being scammed and eBay defending the buyer and not the seller. A friend of mine sold an iPhone and had a completely dead one returned, covered in scratches. He couldn’t prove it wasn’t the one he sold and he lost £500. Can’t you trade in to a reputable dealer or sell on Facebook marketplace where you can sell face to face for cash?

Most T-Mobile stores will take the device with a deep scratch. My store would take it as a trade in with the description you gave (COR STORE)

This is the way, that's where I got my 14 pro and sold my 13 pro max.
I've sold a lot through it, no sellers fee's and less likely to be scammed when the person has to collect in person. I've sold old iPhones, iPads and even a couple of cars through it in the past. I think my old BMW 520D was advertised for 3 hours before a Bosnian chap turned up with £18k in a plastic bag lol. It is probably safer to use in the UK and Australia than other places though.

Yeah I use it alot for selling and buying, it’s better than gumtree, you can check peoples profiles on FB, still plenty of scammers though, usually have a new account ie 2023 lol with a name from the scammer countries, and they have a brother who will pick it up as they are away working 😀
That is all I use FB for have zero friends.

Hang on that’s $35kAUD lol, gonna be a sad day if they get rid of cash. 3 hours must of been a dealer to have that sort of cash on hand?? Most I’ve done was an old Honda CRV for $8K cash.

12pm to 15 pm, no real reason to. I would like the brighter screen
can’t really justify it but I have the $$ and like the newest gadgets (was first to oled tv, etc)

I might slightly consider the upgrade if they weren’t differentiating the cameras between the Pro and Pro Max models.
