It's showing in stock near me with pickup for today for the 12 pro blue 128. I wonder how much of a pain it would be to just cancel my pre-order, and pickup at Apple and still get the trade-in promotion. Tempting, but worried about any gotchas from ATT.

I cancelled my order with AT&T for a 12 pro blue 128 (which wasn't going to arrive until mid-November) ... then I went to the apple store to try and get one, but it said I needed to pay full price ($999).... I had to go to chat on the AT&T website to 'clear out' the upgrade. Then I went back to the apple store to purchase one with the 30 payment ('free') option. It took me about 20 minutes total.

But now I'm getting my 12 pro blue 128 today at the Apple Store instead of waiting until November.

Well my Fedex guy (Fedex Express) comes to my business I work at here in the next hour, If my iPhone 12 Pro 128GB Pacific Blue Shows up I'll let everyone know, so far still in progress with no tracking #.

Not sure if you saw my post above but Tmobile is on their game. They are willing to help in any way to get my business. AT&T customer service was actually telling me how to leave vs. trying to find out more about my order. AT&T bought Warner Bros and cares more about being a movie producer than being a good carrier. 15 years of AT&T has made me suffer through this stuff but I think enough is enough.

And if you were a T-Mobile customer, AT&T would be just as much on their game to try and win your business.

My device - the one that I ordered 3 HOURS LATER - is coming by FedEx today. My wife's was set for November 2.... so I cancelled with AT&T and found one at our local Apple Store for her.

Why would an order 3 hours later get a launch day delivery, but not the one 3 hours earlier???

I ordered 12 pro 128gb blue at 7:36am 24 minutes before you and mine shows 26-nov 2nd...doesn't make sense.

Because clearly their logistics group is incompetent.

I ordered on the 16th at 805 am and had a delivery window for the 23rd. Yesterday that changed to 11/4. Today I log in and it shows 11/10. Yet, my next door neighbor ordered an identical phone on Monday and it's out for delivery. I cancelled my pre-order when ATT over the the phone 5 min ago and am going to purchase it from Apple directly.

Only issue I see is you can't set up monthly anything through Apple. You have to pay in full for the phone no matter what?

how long did it take for ATT to update their system. Anytime i play around on apples site its trying to make me pay full price and not adding it monthly to my bill?
yeah I was worried I would be back to square one if I cancelled and had to wait for ATT to update the system so that Apple could see my line was free. Surprisingly, the apple order went through no problem immediately after I cancelled my ATT pre order

My wife didn’t even care about getting a new phone but with the ATT trade in deal I got her a 12 and myself a blue 12 Pro. Guess who is getting their phone today..... It’s not me. It’s just super frustrating because I ordered mine first and within a couple of minutes of preorders going live. I don’t h see stand why it’s not a “first come first serve” process.

between waiting for years for the PS5 and now having to wait for my new phone, I’m sick of waiting !!! LOL. I know a new phone isn’t really very important in today’s world especially.

Moving from T-Mobile to ATT. T-Mobile customer service is far superior than ATTs. I was with T-Mobile for 5 years and never had an issue. I only switched for the free iPhones and so far I regret the decision.

I ended up doing the exact same thing, and am picking up today instead of waiting indefinitely for ATT to ship it out

Took 5 minutes on the phone. Super easy process. Just call 611 from your phone. I was on hold for maybe 1 minute till someone answered for customer service.

Sounds good, so don't cancel the pre-order online but rather through the phone?

ALSO... for those that didn’t get trade in info during the order process. I FINALLY received an email yesterday about starting the process. A huge relief!

Yeah, I cancelled my order right from the screen where it shows the progress updates from ATT. Then I went in and ordered from apple for in store pickup today. I was surprised how quick it picked up the change, because before I cancelled with ATT the only option on Apple was to purchase the phone outright.

Great, as soon as my dad gives me the go ahead I'll be doing that then. I initially ordered from AT&T b/c it's his account and we thought only through AT&T you get the trade in offers but that doesn't seem to be the case

Question for you folks. I ordered my pro straight from Apple and paid in full. It is my work phone and arrives today. I am going to be ordering a Pro Max through AT&T for my personal phone on November 2nd. I am curious how the ordering went. So, do you select AT&T, then no trade in? Then, you have 30 days to either mail in the phone or take it to a store, correct?

Are you going to order with Apple but select ATT when checking out. Is that what you mean?

What I would do except apple only offers $250 for the X compared to the $800 from AT&T

you will still get the trade in with ATT ordering from Apple. You just say no when they ask about trade in and do monthly payments. Then when your done you will get an email from ATT to tell you how to do the trade in.
