IMO- I don't believe switching a carrier cause of a pre order of a phone... It should be based on cell service, Data plan, and cost of the phone bill. ATT has a nice discount for first responders and I have good coverage in my area... Now this pre order was deff more stressful than my last pre order of my X... They let people in WAY before the pre order time which wasn't cool.

Apple will probably be my next way to pre order a phone.... I ordered at 758am est and checking Apple app I was able to get the same phone , 128gb pro graphite, with the October 23 delivery until around 835am est.... For my X pre order i got only one date and it was the release date unlike this 12 pro I got a week range of dates that weren't the release date.. Even tho it worked out for me this time, my phone is out for delivery, I will probably try apple first (they have more units) and go from there.

Could covid be the blame for the lack of units, the lack of shipping etc... most likely.

my Apple store has every single option for instore pickup! Carriers suck for pre ordering.

Att is the worst! I can not stand them for pre orders. I just checked my local store and Apple has every model, color and GB size available for walk ins..... let’s start a movement. #ATTPreOrderDaWorst

so I did a buy one get one 2 years ago. I didn’t get the first credits till 3 months down the road. They did give me 3 months of credits tho. They also had problems giving me the credits every month but worked it out. You won’t see the credits till your trade in is in their hands, approved and then probably a month after that. But this process will take some time.
Thank you so much!! I figured that would be the case. I worried because they didn’t even acknowledge my trade in and sure enough I was supposed to submit for it myself which I didn’t know. Thanks again!

I called ATT this morning and the guy told me there shouldn't be any reason my phone wasn't shipped when I ordered so early. Nothing is holding up my order. He said it is changed from Oct 26th - Nov 2 to the Oct 23- Oct 30 window but he still didn't see it as shipped. He said he is sorry and isn't sure why they didn't send them out by first come first serve. He said that I am high on the list since I ordered early and he hopes it get shipped out to me ASAP but he couldn't do anything. So frustrating. I wish I would have ordered through Apple. Lesson learned. :(

I have to be honest... I don't really mind that it's late. Mine was ordered at 8:02AM on the 16th (128 Pro Blue) and is still in progress. I was so shocked to get such a huge credit for my X that I'm at the point where as long as it gets here before next Friday I'm happy.

this is the attitude to have! in a month you won't even care that you didn't get it on release day.

I didn't do a trade in, my oldest son paid off what I owed on my 11 pro so he can have it. Its not really that big of deal cuz he is deployed and doesn't need it till next month when he gets back to the states. The reason I'm mad is the principle of it. When people ordered within minutes of preorder, I did it within 4 mins, they should send the phones in the order that people ordered. People who ordered hours after me should not be getting theirs before me. Its false advertisement to say its first come first serve. That is poor business practice. Now I would understand if no one got theirs by today due to COVID but when people are getting then today then those of us that ordered bright and early should have been the first ones to get it. I set an alarm on my day off to order. That's why I'm irritated. Its just a phone, I know I can survive waiting on it. LOL Just next time, I order through Apple.

I'm surprised FedEx is delivering it on a weekend. I know they do ground residential delivery on weekends now for free, but they still up-charge for express shipping on weekends. Perhaps AT&T recognizes they've dropped the ball and are willing to eat the extra $$$ for Saturday air delivery.
AT&T probably has that negotiated in the deal with Fedex. I’m sure Fedex is making a lot from this deal so they can eat a few weekend deliveries with no extra charge.

Ah well, my 7:01 CST order for 128 gb pacific blue won’t be here today. Only went with ATT because their website loaded first... at least my IPad Air is out for delivery from Apple today ?

Ordered a 64gb 12 and a 128gb 12 pro on Wednesday and both are still in progress. Ordered another 12 128gb project red this morning and it is already changed to shipped with a Fed Ex tracking number.

If I paid off that payment and attempt to use the Apple website to-pre-order a iPhone 12 Max Pro (when pre-orders open up), would I be able to add AT&T Next up or is that only available via AT&T?

I've done just that through Apple for the last several years. I'm sure you still do it now. You just choose the AT&T installment options. Next Up will even be offered if you want it on the new phone too. AT&T will figure out that you need to trade in.

Looks like every Best Buy in my area has IP12 Pro in Blue 128GB available for pick up by Tuesday Oct 27th. I should've just waited and done that. My premier order still doesn't have an estimated delivery date and customer service can't give me a straight answer. All they can do is ensure me there are no issues with the order and that I will receive an email when it ships.

I saw next up as one of the installment options on Apple, one of the last steps before confirming the order.

Seeing as how Fedex can get these packages anywhere in the country from anywhere else overnight where you live shouldn't matter. But on that note I have noticed a lot of people in my area not receiving their orders as expected. Strange since we're less than an hours flight from the FedEx headquarters and an 30 minutes from the busiest airport in the world. Sometimes I think they just make up excuses.

Mine is currently on a FedEx truck out for delivery. Not sure what time it will show up. For those of you who aren't getting your phones today, that totally sucks! Hopefully y'all will get yours within the next few days. AT&T definitely dropped the ball on handling pre-orders this year, and that is saying a lot since their standard for pre-orders in the past wasn't all that great.

Well I canceled my AT&T order. Had chat push through the upgrade and purchased from Best Buy with 1 hour pickup today. Would have done Apple store but the closest is about 1 hour away and Best Buy had stock. Never doing AT&T preorder again.

I think its also what contract you are on (terms and whether business or personal), and whether you are a new or existing customer.

Apple stores here in LA have every model available for pick up tomorrow. Tempted to cancel on AT&T and just do that but with my luck AT&T will foul up putting my upgrade availability back on my account.
