Is it an email sent from att about trade in? I didn't get any email from att about trade in....
Yes.
If you ordered through AT&T and answered yes to the trade-in question you should receive an e-mail.
My email came today even though my phone shipped yesterday.
Mine showed up about 15 minutes ago and the box was so messed up. It looked like someone tried to take what was inside without taking all the tape off. The package inside was fine but it was super strange to see such a mess of a box.
Just curious, has anyone had a surprise delivery today where their AT&T order status still says in progress?
I preordered 14 minutes in from AT&T when the Apple Store App got stuck completing my order. iPhone 12 Pro 128 Pacific Blue, still in progress 10/26 - 11/2. An AT&T chat supervisor told me today that the order would be delivered today. Then changed his mind later in the chat. Absolutely maddening.

From what I've noticed this specific configuration seems to be one that either AT&T received a crap ton of orders for, or that they just did not have. Most of those I have seen who got in early and haven't got them are this specific combination.
I think I am like you...I am not doing the $800 trade-in deal, just the standard Next Trade In. I will be doing this for the Max pro in a couple of weeks. Would you mind sharing your exact steps so that I may benefit from your experience?
Yes. Did 2 separate orders on the 16th sent to different addresses. One iPhone 12, Blue, 64GB. The other iPhone 12 Pro, Pacific Blue, 128 GB. Both still say "in progress" on AT&T website and nothing at all in FedEx manager, but the regular 12 was just received. Still waiting on the 12 Pro.
Just got the email from my local Apple Store that my phone (12 Pro Gold), case, adapter and MagSafe charger, and screen protector are gonna be ready for pick up tomorrow morning. Now that’s top of the line service.
My blue 12 was delivered. I actually think FedEx dropped it at a neighbor’s house. I saw the truck outside but he didn’t come to my house. Later in the afternoon we saw a package sitting outside our door and I never saw the FedEx truck again so I think the neighbor just ran it over.
I was wondering has anyone ordered from apple but was on a ATT next installment plan? I have a iPhone 11 Pro Max that is eligible for a upgrade, and when comes time for pro Max preorders I don’t want to deal with same fiasco. I ordered my wife’s blue 12 pro 10/16 at 7:48 and got dates of 10/26-11/2.
Since ATT **** the bed on this launch - especially with the Pacific Blue 128GB Pro - I cancelled my preorder and reordered through Apple to pick up on Sunday. I was able to choose the installment plan with the Next upgrade option, so you should be good.

You just take your phone into a ATT store? I’ve heard horror stories of phones getting lost on transit when mailed in.
I actually pay mine off then sell on Craigslist or swappa! Get an extra $200 versus trading it in.
but today with my daughters I am going into ATT store to trade in. Will never send in mail! Plus it’s quicker to your account.

I tried to be optimistic. I was ready to go at 8am est. I usually go through apple on pre-order day but the att site let me in and order my pb 12 pro 256 with no glitches. Delivery by oct 26 -nov 2. The order remained in progress all week (In fact it still says In Progress). I woke up with an email saying it is shipped.. with UPS? that's weird. ATT uses Fedex.
Looks like the delivery date was correct as UPS will be deliverying my phone on Monday. It's back to going through apple next time.

They send FedEx from their location in Texas. I have seen it from other locations to other shippers
Magsafe still works with this case , also non MagSafe wireless chargers work too and yes the vent mount is very strong!
Two days after the announcement, I got on a chat with ATT to figure out billing and all that jazz and ordered my 12 Pro 512GB in blue. I checked the status last night and it said prepping for shipment.
To my surprise, it showed up today!
