Quite. Even more ridiculous when you realize that these iPads aren't 'bending' with use, they're actually quite rigid. The problem is at the factory level, as they are being assembled with this crooked (or bent) frame (or perhaps it is a step within the assembly process that is causing this to happen).

Some 'bends' or crooked frames are more severe than others. People are receiving their iPads 'bent' but aren't noticing it right away, or they aren't noticing it at all. A few people posted pics of theirs saying 'mine is fine', when the pictures showed that they were indeed bent (or crooked) as well - but very slight. If they don't see it (or care about it), then good for them!

Exactly. Or it’s a trick of the light too. It is possible some have bent theirs. The bottom line is with normal use and if you take care of it it’s not going to bend.

I’m still laughing over what that guy did to his iPad. Why even bother buying it?

ABSOLUTELY the best post on MacRumors of ALL TIME!!!!!!!!........I cannot get over this!!!! And this is where a Apple fan should draw the line and just give up......come on. So many other gadgets out there that would never need this much extra fluff to keep the device intact, non-warped, and completely stable. :D:D:D Definitely will pass this around to Reddit users lol....

Only they aren’t just bending because of normal use. They just aren’t. Those with bent iPads either received them bent and didn’t notice, or applied force to them beyond what is considered normal use. They just don’t bend themselves.

This would have never happened had Apple used 7000 Series Aluminum. I wouldn't mind the extra weight. As a matter of fact, I welcome it! I had an 11 inch Pro and I did not like how light it felt. It was very disconcerting. If it has to be thin it needs to be strong. That's where Apple failed this time.

Agreed, but they have made clear they are trying to keep it a certain weight. But there are also very few that have been bent in real world use, most bent iPads have been factory defects so far.

Well the fact that so many people on here don’t get the 12.9 because they say its too heavy proves that people do, indeed, want thin and light.

I got the 11 inch iPad because of weight. All things being equal, a larger screen would be nice. I just don’t see myself holding the 12.9 in one hand like I do my 11 inch.

And no, my iPad hasn’t bent, just like my iPad Air 2 never bent despite all the hyperbole about it bending when it came out.

Wow bendgate again. I can't believe Apple is letting this happen again. Sigh.

This new ipad pro chassis feels just "cheap" i just hold one in my hands this week, nothing to do with the previous 10.5 pro one that was much better quality.

It might be the way you’re looking at it.

what did you mean? astigmatism? LOL
[doublepost=1544926186][/doublepost]
Mine looks fine to me but different angles can make you 2nd guess yourself

Its a little bend at the end definitely. If the others commenting are not sure i definitely recommend them going to the Ophtalmologist to check their eyes (i use glasses and have astigmatism so i know what i'm talking about).

Do you have an iPad Pro, or are you just bashing?

I had an iPad Air 2, and my iPad Pro 11 inch feels just as strong in my hand.

I honestly have not had this iPad out of the office, it sits on a stand running duet display. It gets very hot, not sure if this has anything to do with it. it has only bent at the top, where it wasn't supported by the stand. I don't go out of the house, I stay here and cull images. It has not moved.
I have AppleCare, they wanted me to pay to have it replaced, I said no. They wouldn't have a bar of this forum, or reports it is bending. They said they know that manufacture is not faulty and I pads do not bend. Said I could take it up with legal.

Felt great, fantastic experience.
They both had beards and were very sure of themselves, one manager even remarked he had a more expensive motorbike than me a Panigale, I asked why he chose such a brand to invest? was it the quality or brand reputation, support? - yeah that's why I bought the iPad ...
Did they want full payment or the deductible? So is Apple’s stance this is customers handling. If that was case too they could refuse to take back within 14 day window.

What did I do wrong?

My iPad Air 2 never bent. My iPhone 6 never bent, and my 2018 iPad Pro isn’t bent.

I doubt you did anything wrong. People have reported it coming that way in the mail. Others are reporting it happening after heavy use, which would produce heat.

It’s not a recurring problem. I bet less than half a percent of all people who bought the new iPads have issues with bending. Hardly a recurring problem.

If half a percent are having the issue, it is recurring. It just isn’t widespread. Calm down there, Tim, nobody is firing you as CEO yet.

The 2018 normal ipad 6th generation is the safe buy. It has the pencil support and you can always add a bluetooth keyboard and think of it as a ipad pro lol. I realized this after getting rid of my 10.5 due that bright white spot appearing. I could never get the latest generation pro due to the bending issue which is everywhere!!!!!! Next year, I will reconsider going back to the 2019 pro models if applicable to my standards 4 months after its released due to quality control issues with Apple lately.

They wanted me to use one of my accidental replacements, I would happily do this if I was at fault. I just am not at fault, honestly thought they may appreciate the feedback and understand that a new design may see some flaws.

Hello,
After 1 week of using the ipad pro 11 inch i notice it slightly bended. All corners around 3mm it also have thin hairline crack on the middel left side, around 3cm, its in a full body case. The back of the ipad have some smal bumps. 3 days ago its becomes quit hot after using a heavy app.

Any idea why it happens?

Especially when you only get 2 incidents to claim. I fear these design flaws are mostly with profit in mind and they have gone to far.

1.) No need for the hyperbole. We get, the bending exists pending how one treats their device, but claiming it’s ‘Everywhere’ is fear mongering, many in the same thread who own the latest used Pro, have never experienced bending.

2.) I do think Apple needs to address this. They clearly are aware of it. It really is a simple procedure Tonise a higher grade of aluminum or add internal bracing support of the engineering aspects permit it. Either way, a remedy would alleviate future issues and costs.
