No one is bending my ipad, not the russian dude, not the jerry rigged dude. I had a 1.5mm stainless steel plate cut along with some machined aluminum braces. looks nice and industrial, adds some weight to the ipad but I have no fear of leaving it in a backpack.
No offense, but that does not look nice at all. To each his own, but this whole bending thing has been blown way out of proportion. I’m pretty sure it effects less than half a percent of anyone who’s bought the new iPad Pro.

That is ridiculous. No person should have to go this far to protect a device that should have never had the problem in the first place. That IS unacceptable.
What’s ridiculous is this whole bending thing. It has been blown way out of proportion and now people are doing this to their iPads? It’s kind of hilarious and laughable, honestly. Anything from the first iPad to the new iPad Pro is going to bed if force is applied to it. It’s that simple. If you take care of your stuff, and are congnizant of force not being applied then you will have no problems.

I agree, but my point is I have never heard of another product arriving bent right out of the box. I would think the box itself would protect the product from damage. Sure we can all move on and not make a big deal out of it, but still the very idea that a packaged product is bent before even being used, makes one wonder how that could even occur.
This issue isn’t the box. The issue is it obviously had force applied to it BEFORE it was placed in the box. It would be impossible for it to get bent in transport in the box. Impossible. Any force required to bend it through the box would destroy it not bend it.
With millions of products leaving the factor, there are bound to be issues here and there of damaged products making it through quality inspection and placed in the box for shipping. We’re humans. We all make mistakes.

Look, it’s perfectly fine to be happy about your purchase and only you know what is important to you. But that 10.5 is “better in most features” is simply not true. It is great, but slightly worse in every feature compared to the 11”.

Oooor.... just take care of your iPad and not put it in the steel chastity belt.
This. People are making way way way way too much over this bending issue. It’s few and far between. Simple care will prevent it from bending. It’s that simple.

Dude I fully, 100% agree with you. It's absolutely ridiculous how apple mocks us with their ridiculous thin-first design, the whole 3.5mm jack situation. But all things considered, I still want the superfast A12X processor, the 120hz screen, the ecosystem. Apple deserves our collective middle finger. But at the end i'm a pragmatic guy, so I designed my own solution.
I don’t think Apple is mocking us. They are making design choices. The 3.5mm jack is a thing of the past. I casn’t Believe people are still going on about it. Wireless headphones are the future, corded headphones or not. They had to make that transition at some point and they decided to do it when they did it.
Personally, I think this whole thinness thing has gone to far, but that’s what the buying people of people shows Apple most people want. Thin and light. The thinner anything is it is less durable - anything. I wish it would be the thickness of the camera, a little heavier, and a litter sturdier, but it’s not like any of this was a surprise. I knew exactly what I was buying and it was my choice to make the purchase. If the product isn’t everything you want, then either don’t buy it or live with it. It’s that simple.
There are tablets with 3.5mm jacks, and thicker, and more durable. If that’s what one wants that’s what one should buy.
