Ladies and gentlemen Best Buy did this with the series 2 watches and then issued 50.00 gift cards for those that were over promised and under delivered. I’m sure they won’t be so accommodating this time around. Frankly, just don’t promise anything other than “will ship once available,” and set the appropriate expectation.
 
Yep same here. In progress and the change order is available but when you choose that it says changes can't be made. Whelp guess we are officially delayed.

They changed my status to “order received” with no shipping date after saying “pre-ordered, will ship by the 21st”. I’m hitting cancel. My watch from Apple is preparing to ship, will get here before “we don’t know”.

They now have watches available for pickup today!!! Just cancelled my preorders and replace for instore pickup
 
Yeah, I was about to cancel because have a trip coming up and BB still hasn't ever given a delivery date. Now my status went to order received and can't cancel. Its odd and bad that BB won't let you cancel an order when they can't tell you a delivery or shipping date.
 
44mm SS Gold with cellular and stone sport band from BB also switched to "Order Received" so I jumped on two in-store pick-ups tomorrow that randomly popped up (Black and Gold SS, not sure which color I'll prefer)

Update: I Pre-ordered a 44mm SS. It was listed as: Will let you know when it ships. Tonight the status changed from Pre-Order to Preparing Order, and a note appears near the CC info that says "Awaiting Authorization". When I logged into my CC account, I see they added a new Pending charge after midnight. I also can't "Cancel" the order now.

In short, there is some movement on the BB SS models that were listed with no shipping date. At this time I don't have a shipping or delivery date, but there is some movement.

Now I just have to hope it reaches me before I leave town Weds night.
 
My order status updated to "in progress" and the option to make changes is available. There is now no mention of any date. Just says we'll let you know when it ships. However, when I go to cancel the order and choose "won't get to me on time" as the reason, it says "get it by Friday October 12" with standard shipping!!! That is a 3 week delay!
 
Same...SS changed to preparing order and can no longer be changed. 9/14 order. The SBSS that I ordered 9/17 could still be changed and cancelled.

My local store was showing stock for a SBSS so I ordered that one for pick up and cancelled the 9/17 order.

I will see later today how that all goes.
 
We all want our watches. But let's put it in perspective. Lots of people can't afford a watch nevermind a iPhone. We are spoiled brats because we want it on day 1. Some people live on the street. Gosh who am I right now. Haha

This is true... Especially considering that most of us are typing on perfectly good iPhone X's wearing perfectly good Watch 3's lol. Still, even the homeless guy on the street wants promises kept. Nobody actually needs an iPhone or an Apple Watch, much less the newest models on the day that they are released. Of course it's just stuff, but it's the principle that someone broke their word or severely miscalculated supply. Demand can be difficult to guage, but they should've known the initial supply when they started taking preorders a week ago.

Sigh... Originally got the Gold Aluminum 44mm set for pick up on 9/21. Got charged and all that. But like the rest of you, my order is still "Preparing To Ship", my pre-charge fell off, and now when I look at my order it doesn't even say WHEN it'll ship -_-
 
One frickin thing after another. Woke up to my wife askign me this morning.... 'did you do this?' Chase sent a message to her phone for the credit card charge at 2am last night and it ended up getting declined because neither of us woke up quick enough.

I've now contacted chase to have the restriction lifted and reprocesssed payment now. Payment was now re-preauthorized.

Something was happening last night... I'm now concerned that they were trying to ship it at 2am or whatever and now that will be delayed due to the credit card authorization stuff. :mad: . GRRR

Edit: My order status for each watch has now changed to 'preparing.' (44mm Space Grey/Black Sport Loop & 40mm Silver/White Sport Loop)

I keep saying it because it makes no sense but Best Buy charges $35 for any open box cellular item. Unlocked phone, cellular Watch, iPad cellular, and regular phones.

Activated or not $35 if open on return.

This policy changed last year.
 
Preparing and charged my credit card. They haven’t connected to ATT yet with the new number, as they did with my iPhone XS max yesterday. Picking that up today maybe they’ll have the watch by then but I doubt it.

My 9/28-10/2 order with Apple has already shipped and is showing Wednesday delivery. Now my Best Buy order has been downgraded to “order received” with a “ships by the 21st” date to “order received” with no date. I wish I could cancel the Best Buy order but it won’t let me.

Mine won't let me cancel which I hope is a good thing but card still has yet to be charged hoping Monday for delivery
