Best Buy Pre Order for Series 4 Apple Watch?

Well, I decided to cancel my BB pre-order of the SB SS and go with an Aluminum for in-store pickup. When I chatted with the reps, they had no idea when my watch would ship and they couldn't change the shipping address.

Plus side: $200 less and I don't have to pay tax on it since I'm picking up in Delaware!

Woke up this morning to a change in status from "Pre-Ordered" to "Preparing". I also had the old authorization fall off and a new one post with today's date. I never had a projected date; it was always "we'll let you know when it ships" so I'm feeling pretty hopeful.

Wow that's pretty interesting. I ordered over 5 hours before you the same model and still sitting in "Order Received".

I now have a shipped order with Apple that left Suzhou, China at 2:16 pm today and UPS says I'm getting it today....I don't think so! lol

So if my BB pick up in store order completes today I will pick it up and return the apple order I guess.

This is frustrating for me. I placed my order at 3:15am on 9/14 for the same watch. I got a "We'll ship it by Friday 9/21". This morning, it went to "Order Received: we'll let you know when it ships". No charge on my card, and the BB rep told me it was shipping in about 5 days. Couldn't modify the order to update my address or anything.

I am happy for you, though. At least some people are seeing movement on their orders.

Just asked customer service about that, they replied:

Upon checking it here, I can see that our store is awaiting for the manufacturer to provide the item to us. There are times that the manufacturer sends the inventory to retailers on the release date itself.

Such garbage. Why even pre-order at all.

There's two stores "near me" that have some in stock, but only the cellular models...the ones that can't be returned without a restocking fee.

Yeah I feel bad for everybody that had a status indicating they were receiving it today and are now being told something different. I'd be very surprised if I had it in hand anytime within the next week. I have a Series 3 on my wrist so I'm not too terribly upset about being unsure.

The chat reps are really laughable and I'm not sure they actually understand English. The one I talked to said both the same thing above about the manufacturer sending the inventory, and then simultaneously told me that my item was still showing get it by 9/21 and that I will have it according to the promised date. You can't say both that you have no idea when inventory will arrive, and that I'll have it today when it has yet to ship.

So I just saw one of my local BB has the watch I kind of want. I originally ordered the SG sport loop gps model. But then I saw they had a SG sport gps/cellular model available for pickup today. So I just bought that and about 10 mins later I got a notification it was ready for pickup. So I guess I didn’t get the band I wanted but I did get cullular that I was really on the fence with. I’m hoping my XS Max 512gb(Verizon order) gets here at a decent hour so I can go pick up my watch today. If it comes too late I’ll have to wait until Sunday to get there. But in any case if it is in fact waiting for me like it said I’ll cancel the first order. We shall see...

I was able to get the Space Gray Aluminum 44 cellular sport band (not loop... which is what I wanted) model for in store pickup today... found the band at the apple store for today... Problem solved... and cancelling my pre-order... which still just says “Order Received” though I preordered in the wee hours of the morning on the 14th. Kind of crappy experience since I woke up to make the preorder for launch day.... and turns out I could have just done it anyways .... but ah well... all part of the ‘game’... Good luck to the rest of you guys and thanks for keeping us posted as your statuses have changed... been fun and frustrating to watch/read. ;-)

Is your iPhone coming UPS? Mine is and I can live track the truck in the UPS app and on the website. It's almost in my neighborhood!

So I had a preorder from the 20th, and checked this morning, and it looks like my local store didn't have any stock. Gave them a call and they told me it could be a few days.

Checked stock on another location, and I was able to "pick up today" instead of "pre order".

Couple minutes later, my Parma store pickup order is ready.

I ordered one from BB and one from Apple when the Apple date slipped. Stupid me - thought BB would order their ship by date of 9/21. Now, who knows when. I cannot even cancel the order at this point, so I'll have to go into their store to do the return. Last time I attempt to pre-order an Apple item from BB. At least when I ordered my Switch from them they honored the date. Not sure if this is Apple's fault or BB's, but BB should not be so confident in their dates.

Random question. Do they really require you to have the card on hand when you go to pick it up? I'm having a replacement BB card sent to me at the moment, so I don't have it. I don't recall having to have a card on me for other pickups

Mine got sent UPS Ground. It doesn't show on tracking but do you think it requires a signature?
