Got the ip12 pro max.
interesting bug, i ran the text after i saw ppl talking about this and got a normal result as you can see.
But after i restarted the phone and did a second test, the multi-core score became 2427. also did some tests today and the scores are always 2400+.
btw on ios 14.5.1 my phone has a great battery life at least lol.

Well my iPhone 11 is throttling like hell, it feels like I’ve been using iPhone 7 since this update. Apple please fix this

The multi score performance has dropped to less than half, this really sucks

can someone tell me how to downgrade to 14.5?

Geek whatever doesn’t interest me. If it is abnormally slow on even basic graphic OS effects then there’s a problem, period.
All else is blah blah.
My point is, my iPad speed/performance is no different from iOS 12/13/14.....blah blah.
Was asking the question out of curiosity, what was the official gb5 bm...blah blah.

Yes, however the likelyhood of you encountering somebody using the exploit in a nefarious manner is basically zero, while it’s very likely your device will be throttled upon updating. This is gonna be pad PR for Apple, especially after batterygate. They should’ve waited to push the update.
I really wish Apple would tell us what the security risk is so we can then gain a better understanding of how dangerous it is. Instead of being Chicken Little and make us think the sky is falling every single time.

they do in technical detail in the change logs.

This explains the fixed vulnerability well in plain speak

Confirming here on my 12 pro that a complete wipe/reset then restore from latest iCloud backup worked to restore performance.

Strait after the restore, performance was just as bad but after leaving on charge overnight all is well.

I spoke to Apple Support about this. They told me to shut down my phone, wait 30 seconds and then restart. geekbench scores seem to be back to normal now, tested it immediately after and after 12 hours. Your mileage may vary.

But was your UI normally fluid?
People seem to be obsessed with bench scores (couldn’t care less) but the problem was that the thing was so slow as to being unusable!

This was the first thing I did by the way. No effect.
Maybe I should have waited more than a minute?
They don’t have a clue, do they?

The UI wasn't smooth for me, multiple stutters and frame drops which matches up to the 50% reduced metal score in GB5. After a phone reset, back to being smooth.

Wow. This actually worked for me. I will test again every few hours

This isn’t a fix at all, i believe 99% of us here tried this after finding this bug. You just lucky and maybe the bug will return on your device.

Quite possibly. Just thought I’d throw it in the ring as it seems to have rectified my device, at least for now. Nearly 24 hrs and all GB tests back to normal so I’m happy. Fully intend to keep an eye on this thread though. Just in case…

iPhone 11 here. Throttling as well. CPU clock speed is down to 1440mhz. Interesting thing though it I am on 14.6 Dev Beta 2, not 14.5.1

Thanks for the heads up man, can confirm this worked for me.
But I had to do the "Shut down -> wait 30 second -> switch on" total 2 times to work.
The first time I shutdown and wait, the result still in 2400ish score.
After I did the 2nd time of shutdown and wait, the multicore score back to normal.
