Rumors is the name of the site, and all PB’s have followed the day after the beta release, it was, but incorrectly, a good guess.

Good point, bit risky releasing it just before the weekend i reckon. Hopefully start of the week release. 😊

You got one wrong, last PB was released few hours after the beta was released. 😜😂

Strikes me that Big Sur is still on a two-week cycle as a result, unless Beta 6 will be skipped for the public channel in favor of a Beta 7 next week.

your computer doesn't sleep because of a problem? or are you letting it run all the time by choice? (& if so, why? just curious)...

For the most part its because "sleep" has been problematic since the day it was introduced (still problems in 2020 eh?). I really dont need to be there that 2 out of 10 times the computer doesn't wake up properly and you just lost everything in memory. Some of us have apps that run 24/7 as well. And really, I just dont want it to plain and simple. I could care less about the $10 a year Ill save by letting it go to sleep.

From the reports of those using the developer beta, sounds like there is a few issues. Perhaps they choose to skip a PB.

I’m using the current developer beta and it’s running fine on my bac MacBook Pro and Mac mini. No bug issues within the team of Devs I work with either.
could easily be a GM build.

Guess apple didn’t feel confident enough in releasing the public beta, been running very smoothly for me so far, small issue MacBook Pro not sleeping while it’s open.

Hopefully apple keep up the good work with these betas.

Mine sleeps when open, I missed that being mentioned.

I've not seen many complaints about this beta, all that I have seen, has been minor. There were worse bugs in the las beta that became the GM last year.

Not everyone is having the not sleeping while MacBook is open issue, seen a few on this forum who do have that problem, mine started as soon as I installed the public beta, apart from that big sur has been rock solid, can’t wait for the 14"-16" arm MacBook pros, still awhile away by the sounds of things. 🥺

There were worse bugs in Catalina, High Sierra, Sierra, for their GMs, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was it.

The last 7 releases have all been 20th September or later, often in October. It would be unlikely they'll release earlier, as every bit they spend now ironing it out, means less dot increments later.

I never said they would release the OS sooner. I only said the it could be the last build before GM. GM comes a week before release anyway.

They can easily have this as the final builds, and then nothing until the GM comes out. It's happened before. Sierra and High Sierra had 2 weeks between the last build and GM, for example. They do it on iOS all the time, iOS 13 for instance was 29 days between the last build and GM.

I know this site is named 'Rumors', but lets not worry about hypotheticals. We've lived without Big Sur like 'forever', so what's another month.

Public beta dropping in 7 hours? Or nah? 🤔

Depends if the Dev Betas have moved to weekly ones (if that's going to happen on this beta cycle). If PB doesn't drop today, then I guess we might get a new DB tomorrow, with a PB to follow that (either tomorrow or Wednesday).

On the feedback assistent i got the information that maybe the apple watch unlock issue is fixed. Would be a great surprise after 1,5 years...

What issue?
If unlock with apple watch is activated the tx rate of wifi will be locked down after a while. It is stuck to 13Mbps/14Mbps or 27Mbps. Turn off/on Wifi will fix the issue for a few hours.

I have the issue since MBP 2018 already. This time i used the feedback assistent to report it for big sur and got this answer:

There are changes in the latest update, build 20A5364e,18A5369b, that may have resolved this issue.

I don't want to try out the dev beta and waiting for public beta so im very curious if this is really true.
