Public beta this week? 🤔
If the theme at the moment continues, then I'd expect that 15 days makes Friday 18th drop day for macOS Big Sur Beta 7, and PB on Monday 21st. Doubt it'll drop tomorrow, so much else being dropped.

The problem is, the public won’t be able to do any iOS 14 related things tomorrow on Mac, since Big Sur is needed for iOS 14. Such as restoring or updating. So, we need the public release of it soon.

Maybe we will see GM and public release soon! This build seems stable enough.

With build 20A5364e I have problem with Messages. It has blurry fonts in message area.
It's hurting my eyes 😞.

Restoring via Mac, manually updating via IPSW, etc.
But you don't need to do those things. We went 'unplugged' years ago. The Public aren't developers, they are users, all they will care about tomorrow, is just clicking update! The numbers escape me, but the % of iPhone users that are also Mac users is pretty damn low. Take those users, half it to account for those who couldn't care less, and you have a non event.

When I plugged in my iPhone with iOS 14 GM this morning, there was a message saying an extra download was needed to connect it. After a few seconds this was installed and I noticed no difference.

My iPhone on iOS 14 PB has been working fine with Catalina all the way through anyway (I haven't updated to Big Sur PB as there are too many apps I use with incompatibilities). You can connect and restore iOS using the Finder as always.

some people still do. Especially if the device goes into DFU mode. You can’t deal with DFU mode ‘unplugged’ 🙄

It might not be a high number, but still needs to be accounted for, even if you don’t see a need.

I have the public beta running and out of curiosity, installed the developer beta profile. Instead of giving me the latest dev beta through software updates, it's opening the App Store and offers me the download there. Is this normal?

Wouldn't be surprised if it dropped at 4 ET. The build is virtually identical to what came out last week, just a small tweak to fix a kernel bug in beta 7.

I had that too. These two commands made it work and beta 7 and 8 showed up in system preferences

sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Versions/A/Resources/seedutil unenroll

sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Versions/A/Resources/seedutil enroll DeveloperSeed
