Mine's "failed" about 4 times so far; it checks for updates again, presents the update, and then proceeds from where it left off

Anyone else have a relocated items folder on desktop after installing the beta?

Can we delete it?

How do we get the battery percentage back on the menu bar?

I restored my MacBook a few weeks back in prep for Big Sur, as the weeks have gone by and seeing issue after issue, and then a rumour on a new MacBook Pro later in the year... I’m gutted to say I’m gonna skip the public beta and wait.
Hopefully everyone enjoys it, and has zero issues.

Hey all, has anyone else experienced the weather widget in the big Sur beta not getting the current location automatically? I noticed it first thing, and was trying to figure out if it's a bug, or redesigned behavior. Under location services in security weather is still checked, but I had to add my location manually to get it to show something other than Cupertino. I tried removing the widget, turning off weather in location services, putting the widget back re enabling weather in location services, and it didn't change until I manually changed it. So was curious if that's a bug, or new behavior. I noticed some other known bugs, but beyond that, it wasn't too bad. Just haven't seen the weather problem I experienced mentioned.

Youtube 1440p and 2160p running like a pig on my late 2016 13" MacBook Pro.

Apart from that everything else is running smoothly.

Safari address bar is huge, hopefully apple shrink it down a bit in the upcoming betas.

I installed it on an external SSD drive for my Mac mini (2018) and everything is going smoothly so far. I don't mount my internal SSD to keep my primary drive uncorrupted. I had previously gone into the boot setting to allow booting from an external drive and had the latest Catalina version running on it before the public beta dropped.

Looking at the Big Sur developer beta release notes, the weather widget not getting the current location might be a known bug.

Thanks, figured it was, didn't make much sense to change that to manual only. Anyway, not a huge deal was just curious. What I can't figure out is, where is the notification center ? the lines i'm used to are gone, and clicking on the time/date brings up the widgets, do notifications still go to the same area? I've pretty much figured out the new menu layout other than that little detail though, so my adjustments here have been minor.

doesn't tell you a lot about what or why. This is from my 3rd attempt.
