Hi, bluetooth an WIFI are working fine on Monterey and i see that it is a BCM_20703A1. When i start with Ventura the card is not the same it says BCM_4350C2. WIFI is working fine but no bluetooth. Any 1 have any clue what am doing wrong?

@Galostro It seems the Bluetooth module did not initialize properly. I saw this happen several times but mostly if I reboot my machine rather than power it off and back on. Try that...
I said it fails on reboot sometimes so rebooting is not always the fix.

Power the computer fully OFF, unplug the power cable, wait a minute, reconnect power and turn it back ON. If it still fails you may have a bad D+ & D- connection or a bad Bluetooth module.
You think the connection or module could be bad even if in Monterey everything is working great?

So sorry about this I missread and somehow thought you were still running Monterey! For Ventura you have to disconnect the Bluetooth data lines from the motherboard, and connect them to an external USB 2.0 hub. See my post here: https://forums.macrumors.com/thread...lling-ventura-with-oclp.2378654/post-32091218

ooooo man am not at ur level of expertise , was just wandering where to plug the other end or ur usb cable

The "other" end plugs into the original factory fitted BT controller or a replacement WiFi+BT Combo card if the original BT controller is removed. The replacement WiFi+BT combo card is better supposed by Big Sur & later macOS without need for OCLP.

Thank you for your help guys everything is working fine with OCLP 0.6.5 nightly build.

I grabbed the 0.6.5 nightly build and built/installed OpenCore, rebooted and then did the "post install root patches" step, rebooted again, and I still don't have functioning Bluetooth.. I've got the "Mac Pro WiFi Upgrade Kit for 4,1 5,1 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Bluetooth 4.2" and a USB 3 PCIE card.

I had been running Monterey on a 5,1 via OpenCore 0.6.4 and used Software Update to upgrade to Ventura.

Does anybody have any ideas as to why my Bluetooth still isn't working?

was your USB 3 PCIE card plugged when u did it? I unpluged mine for the whole process only plugged it back once everything was install.

I'll give that a shot, thanks, @Galostro

Edit: Bluetooth works, but unlocking with my Apple Watch doesn't.

I'm having BT issues as well on my cMP 5,1. I cannot for the life of me get the BCM94360CDP to enable BT.

I have the mPCIe adapter wired to a JST in the old usb 1.1 port for PWR/GND, wifi is working (i know power is not needed) and BT is not.

Im on OCLP 0.6.6 with Ventura. I currently have a 10g Intel x520, RiiTop NVMe adapter, RX580 and a TitanRidge card in the box.

OCLP has USB1,1 root patch applied.

Any ideas?

Hi there,
I've been looking for a solution for a week all over the net to have Bluetooth working on my MB Pro 8.1 ( early 2011 ) with MacOS Ventura installed thanks to OCLP with no luck.

What bothered me was that, when i first tried OCLP on a 2nd partition ( with High Sierra on the primary partition ), Bluetooth was working perfectly fine... Therefor, I couldn't understand ( or accept ) why Bluetooth could not work with a clean instal of Ventura ( even tho the issue is explained on github by the fact that the USB 1.1 support got dropped for pre 2013 MBPros ).

After a few tests, i managed to have Bluetooth functional under Ventura :D
Here is how to do it:
- Under your actual OS (High Sierra for me ), install OCLP
- Build a USB stick with Ventura
- Create a 2nd partition on your main HDD or SSD ( not a volume! )
- Follow all the process to install Ventura on the 2nd partition
- Boot from the Ventura partition
- Under Ventura, erase the High Sierra partition with Disk Utility
- Use the "restore" tool from Disk Utility on the freshly erased High Sierra partition
- Select the Ventura partition as source
- Reboot on the "new" Ventura partition
- Launch OCLP and run again the "Build and install OpenCore" option
- Select your main HDD / SSD to be able to boot without the USB stick

And voila...

I know it's not what we can call a "clean" install but, at least, it is a solution to have Bluetooth work with Ventura installed thanks to OCLP on an old mac book pro.

The only downside is that, if you switch Bluetooth off, you cannot switch it back on without rebooting.

I hope this post will help.

Big up to all the people behind OCLP for the amazing work done !!!!!

You are right and I edited my previous post, the MacPro5,1 factory BT module cable have different two different connectors in each end, you will remove the connector that goes to the backplane.

You will slice the end with the Molex PicoBlade connector, this end will be where you will splice the wires from the USB-A cable.

the BT card is USB1, you need to plug it into a USB2+ hub to force it to work. Either put a mini usb hub internal or run cable out the back and plug in (only need TX +/-, no power)

That is one of the best way to get around the issue of USB 1.1 drivers being removed from Ventura (as I document here). That will allow the macOS installer to see the the BT devices during installs (and Recovery Mode).

However, if OCLP is used to and Root Patches are applied, the OCLP will add the USB 1.1 drivers to Ventura which should allow the BT controller on the BCM943602 to work on the native USB1.1 port.

@Ugurk, According to the screenshots above the BT controller is not being picked up by the drivers (Address: NULL). OCLP config issue somewhere.

Ive had 0 success without the hub, not doubting it can work, but the $15 i spend for jst's and a tiny internal hub was the only way i could get it working

Thank you for the guidance however I’m not exactly sure how to go about doing as you recommended. Is there a guide showing step by step how to do it? It’s really strange coz before purchasing the upgrade kit I was assured that there wasn’t anything else I would need to do in order to get the card to work
