From previous experience and releases you will get an email tomorrow or Thursday 100% usually Wednesday night to Thursday morning
I got my invoice email this morning, which included a ship date of the 21st and a “shipped from” being the Apple distribution center in Elk Grove California

OK so, I ordered maybe 2 mins after pre-orders opened. iPhone 12 Pro, 256 Graphite. Still on preparing to ship for my order. I have a feeling we'll get our tracking numbers at some point today, or tomorrow morning. Unless Apple is in fact shipping from stores, then it could even be Friday morning. Only time will tell!
I could see this going forward, as stores usually have stock, but doubt it's for the new release phones. Logistically it doesn't make sense to ship it to a store and then the customer. That's 2 shipping fees. It's always been that the new release ships directly from ChinaMay be because they have switched to this.

It depends, they are shipping pallets to the stores anyways. They might be including all the nearby orders as well for the stores to ship out.
Logistically it makes sense.
Mine now shows on the ups tracking if you search by reference # and enter your phone number
I am at least getting something on UPS now when I search by reference number and put phone number used for order..

I dont get anything tracking with my phone number as reference number, but when I log into "my ups" it shows up. Sweet, thanks for the head's up.
Finally! Nice to see the tracking show up. Now I have a new page to refresh all day 😂
Awesome to see; though there's still the note that "The delivery date will be updated when UPS takes possession of the package"
