Still having issues completing my order with Paybright. Here is what Apple is telling me: Screen Shot 2022-09-09 at 1.28.12 PM.png

This is the first time since the iPhone X that I've ever tried and failed to secure a launch day delivery. Still hoping that maybe Sept 27 - Oct 4 will get moved up... :(

Folks, if you missed the Sept 16 delivery, check the Apple site on the first weekend. They usually release more stock for pickup on the first few days to meet extra demand based on their first delivery batch. Check regularly between 8 and 10 am.

On apple.ca site, every single model/configuration/colour/size is not available for pick up when pre-pay in the GTA. What craziness.

Managed to complete PayBright a few minutes ago.

I still have 2 reservations for the 14 Pro 512GB Purple:

First at Dix30 on Friday at 8AM
Second on St Catherines St on Saturday at 1PM.

My experience from last year is that the product and the time slot immediately become available again once they are canceled.

So, before I cancel them, if anyone here would like the model/time slot, please PM me and we can coordinate so that you can place an order at the same time as I cancel.

Finally worked but like I was afraid full value of taxes charged. Maybe they’ll refund me the tax value of my trade in once apple receives and assesses my trade in? Ughhh

I was emailing with Paybright support and after I sent them screenshots of the “something went wrong” and my order number the link started working again and I was able to finish my order from this morning.

I’m not sure if email support did it or if they are slowly going through the orders from this morning and re-enabling the payment links.

This is exactly what happened last year. I can’t believe they didn’t learn.

128GB Purple 14 Pro ordered for my wife, and 256GB Space Black 14 Pro Max ordered for myself. Both scheduled to arrive on the 16th. Got up early and pre-ordered them at 5am on the dot lol.

Here you go:
Reporting suspected tax or benefit cheating in Canada

LoL in all seriousness, I have a feeling it will post the correct amount once it's all said and done. It's probably glitching because it's a pre-order, and the charge will be pending until shipped or picked up.

Yep I hope so. Because I’d rather keep the phone or sell it for more than $655 lol. At $740 I was on the fence. $655 no way. Phones worth a lot more than that.

Paybright finally worked.

Then cancelled my order.

Apple won’t reinstate it. **** this. I won’t bother. I’ll cancel my Apple Watch ultra too.

Paybright emailed me 2 duplicate agreement plans. Both items show up as 'Payment Received' on Apple side. But it makes me wonder if the plans are properly created for the missing one.

Such a mess.

Yeah that’s originally what I thought but then r.d brought up the CRA rule and someone confirmed that they were charged taxes on the net amount.

I’ll probably just not return the old device and have apple adjust my total owed lol

Here's a screenshot of a family member who did a PayBright purchase a few months ago with a trade-in. You can see the tax amount is based on the net amount from the start:

$1,019.00 - $290.00 = $729.00 x 13% = $94.77

I have a feeling Apple and/or Paybright isn't showing the correct about because it's a pre-order. It should all work out once the phone ships or is picked up, but we'll see what happens. What a disaster this year.
