Depends on your mobile provider really! Some have pretty sleek charge free eSim systems online like Freedom and Bell, not sure about the rest but have experience with those two. Just gotta log into your account and can migrate relatively easily.
on a corp plan and it’s been a pain asking my IT to switch me to esim so if i could do it at apple, that would be amazing

Has anyone ordered a case from Caudabe for the iPhone 14? I ordered the sheath on Sept 9 for the iPhone 14 pro max and have not received it yet. Hoping to get it soon. Im in Toronto.

CanadaPost did come through and Priority was delivered to me next day (despite CP saying Tuesday) so I received the phone early afternoon on Friday from Telus. My case and screen protector were delivered Friday also from Amazon. Happy to be back at the Max size after 2 years with the 12Pro.

Black is sort of boring...should have got Purple....probably should have got 256 over 128 to future proof as now that I know I'll be happy with the Max size I may keep this phone for 4+ years....I went from 6s+ to 12Pro so I often will keep a phone going for more than just 2 years as I did this past time.

Not sure why you guys didn’t just picked pick up at store. It’s way faster than waiting around for ups driver to roll by lol
Picking up at a store isn't an option for some.

I guess every year UPS drops the ball on a few of these deliveries. They should recover with a Saturday morning special delivery. Instead they close down on the weekend and don't even update their tracking system. Sure doesn't sound like a company that's focussed on its customers.

Hey guys, so for everyone that helped me or watched my situation about mu cousin buying the iphone 14 pro max in CA…it went everything ok! She sent me this photo today, the thing is that she tried to buy 16/09 8am CA but didnt went well, sold out fast, so she bought for pickup in store in Miami before her flight back do Brazil. Thanks for the help

My Friday iPhone delivery via UPS is missing; Apple and UPS are investigating. It hasn't been scanned since Thursday so doesn't look very promising. Spent time on the phone this morning talking to both Apple and UPS. Neither offered a great customer experience, especially UPS which said an investigation would take 8 business days. Apple was more helpful but unable to get me a replacement quickly. What a hassle. Hopefully the phone shows up soon.

Still having the same error with Paybright trying to get an iPhone 14 for a family member

Wondering if anyone else had gotten the below error when trying to go through financing

No further update from UPS or Apple today so guessing the phone is lost in UPS somewhere. It might turn up but I managed to find one for pickup at an Apple Store tomorrow so will go that route. Not at all feeling confident about UPS after this experience. Sure won’t be using them in the future.

Surprise, Surprise. Who shows up at 7pm tonight but UPS with my phone. No tracking update or anything. What a bunch.

I was a minute or so late due to Apple Pay errors and mine says Oct 4th to 11th, I'm hoping where I live it's before the 11th as I leave on vacation then. However, typically where I live in Canada it's usually when they give that kind of a date range at the beginning.

Nightmare? Bell make it easy out of all the carriers. Just login to your account and select Transfer service to another phone. Enter in the IMEI or IMEI2 number, and follow the steps.
You're absolutely right! This was way way easier than I thought it would be.

Thanks for the update.

Gorgeous phone!!!

So I decided to list my 13 Pro Max on Facebook Marketplace and sold it within a day for nearly $600 more than Apple's trade-in value. Not bad! ($1,550 vs $955). Well, to be fair, the trade-in should be $1,079.15 with tax savings, so around $470 more.

Much better than having to haggle with Apple or Paybright about tax issues. 🥳

Though I am still curious if anyone here will get the tax adjusted from sending in their trade-in. My girlfriend also upgraded to the 14 Pro, and we listed her 13 for now to see what happens. But she has a base 13 128GB so it doesn't seem to be going for much more than Apple's trade-in. If we end up sending her's in, I'll report back if her tax gets adjusted.

I heard Apple puts it on a gift card when you trade in for another device, so I don’t think there is tax saving as they treat it as 2 transactions?

Your 13PM is the 256GB model?

Haven't done this in a while, but pretty sure they add the tax to the gift card to make you whole on the tax side.

There was a lot of discussion on this earlier in the thread.

Trade-in tax laws in Canada for tangible items state that you only pay tax on the net amount of the purchase price less the trade-in, when done so in the same transaction. Doesn’t matter whether it’s a car or a phone.

I’ve done many trade-ins with Apple and always paid the net amount of tax. This year, it seems that paying with Paybright with a trade-in is charging the incorrect amount of taxes.

Apple will give you a gift card if you are only trading in a device and not purchasing one.

You’re right. That’s how it works when you trade in vs sell outright.

Better off selling privately than trading anything back. Apple's idea of a trade in is down right rip off. As I mentioned before my $1,119 Apple Watch 7 SBTi 45mm last Nov is now worth $135 trade in. That is almost as bad as a thief. I think I am done giving them my money especially when the turn over is every 6 years. I just got my brand new 13 for dirt cheap via corp plan. No need for a 14 Pro or spending $1K+.

I need some advice...

I am in need of a new iPhone and really want the new 14Pro, usually I would buy my iPhone in the US, but where I live there is no provider that uses eSim.
By pure coincidence I will be in Seattle early October for a few days and will take a car up to Vancouver BC to just buy two new iPhones.
I noticed that there are 5 Apple Stores in and around Vancouver BC and I want to do an in-store scheduled pick-up.

I am checking availability every day on the apple site, but not a chance yet...
With demand being so high, I was wondering what other options do I have in and around Vancouver to buy an iPhone on-site, in case I will not be able to get my hands on one in an apple store?

Any suggestions would be helpful...

The Apple Store is the best way to buy one outright with no BS in Canada. Most carrier stores won’t allow an outright purchase without an account. I suggest just keep checking stock regularly until one shows up. Stock will only get better as the days go on.

Not sure if anyone noticed, costco.ca is having lots stocks for iPhone 14 pro for next week delivery date. I have seen iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 pro max come and go. If you want it soon then Apple Store, maybe keep refreshing costco site. Good luck.

Only got the trade-in value back without taxes. Anybody else got the same back from apple?
I ended up selling privately so won’t be returning the trade-in.

But that’s interesting you didn’t get the tax adjustment. Curious to see if anyone else will report the same. Maybe give it a few days to see if it adjusts, but if not then maybe it’s time to contact CRA LoL…

Unlikely. It’s already credited on my credit card and posted. I’m hoping for a miracle lol
