Control panel will forever stay in the right corner on the X because of the swipe up to do things so don’t expect that to change. Also I came from 3 years of a plus model it only takes about a day or 2 to get used to size of the phone. Then once you go back to pick up a plus model you realize just how way to big it actually is and that the iPhone X is the perfect size.

I was thinking more about a possible X plus. The top right corner would be a quite a bit further away. It'll be interesting to see how they manage it.

This is my strange yellow screen when I switched off the True tone. And I assume this is a defect.
I make an appointment with Genius Bar tomorrow. Better to replacement.

I want to try a replacement first I have an appointment Thursday at the apple store.

I went in on Monday to compare compare it with floor models and some looked like mine while others were like night and day. Crisp white whites and beautiful bright screens.

The store employees basically told me I was wrong and that it looked normal to them yet they insisted on “using their triage model” which probably has the same damn yellow hue issue on it. I’m gonna try multiple stores until someone with half a brain gets the issue.
Please keep us posted. I'll definitely switch it out if there's possibility of getting non yellow screen.

Been missing around with mine. So far with true tone on it does give it almost night shift yellow tent. With it off it does have a slight warm but with true whites. laying beside an S8 it looks little blue while the s8 looks little red. I can live with this

^^ I think that this is the case for most of us here, other than the uneven tint on the bottom for some.

I’m shooting to Apple in an hour to take a hard look at the 8plus. Customer was just in my restaurant with a space gray x and his screen had no color change when looked at from head on or the sides, and was pretty much spot on.

I refuse to deal with a stomach ache and going back and fourth with the Genius Bar, for which I wouldn’t want a white box replacement, I’d want a fresh new phone out of the box, which Apple doesn’t seem to have a supply of.

Mine has the same yellow issue with TrueTone on – but I guess you can at least turn it off.

Worse though, mine is pinkish at the edges and the top, and seems to go through a pink shift before it gets to the blue shift, which starts just a couple of degrees off axis. I could handle the blue as it's way off axis, but the pink phase is appalling.

I've seen some in-store that look as bad as this one, and I've seen a couple that look worse. But I've also seen some that look perfect with no pink edging or pink shift. So I guess it's likely any replacement I get will be just as bad as this one.

Trying to get an exchange but it's much trickier in New Zealand, as we don't have any Apple stores. Sigh.

Ultimately Apple is responsible for their products, however my point is that Samsung is likely capable of mass manufacturing only certain type of oled displays which means that the display used in Iphone X should be fundamentally quite similar to ones used in Note or Galaxy series.

For example DisplayMate has measured similar color shifts for both Note 8 (5 JNCD) and Iphone X ( 6.2 JNCD) at 30 degrees angle. Ideally color shift should remain under 3 JNCD and the LCDs used in iPhones stay well below this threshold.

If there's a major variance in measured display whitepoint between Iphone X displays, this points to quality issue somewhere in Apple's supply/manufacturing chain.

Hypothesis: Samsung couldn't make enough good screens so Apple lowered the requested specs.

I’m still confused to what people are seeing? I have two X’s and with TT off, they are crisp blue left, right, up and down.

I have an appointment with Genius bar in a few hours, I have already exchanged once (got a replacement with same yellow screen) and am gonna try to see if they will let me try another replacement, and if not or if that also is yellow, I plan to just completely return the phone and buy again later maybe when this issue is resolved

After one exchange, you can't return it, even if you are within 14days.

Mine is the same - pink, then blue. Do you see any darker areas when you full-screen this image and zoom it to get rid of the text (ie, just make the dark grey a full-screen background)? The whole left hand side of mine looks a touch darker/redder than the right. Much worse with True Tone on than off.

They are all the same all the shop ones was darker and nore yellow this oled is terrible
You don't know what you are talking about! I keep seeing you all over MacRumors. What's your point? LOL
FYI, you need to turn off Auto Brightness on the X in order to be able to see what this screen is capable of. It has been moved to General/Accessibility/Display Accommodations. Now try that and show me a pic of the X screen next to any other non-OLED iPhone. They all look archaic compared to the X.

Try turning off Auto Brightness. It's under General/Accessibility/ Display Accommodations. See if it helps

It's not recommended to switch off autobrightness on this phone so what's your point? Plenty of people have seen in the flesh multiple devices which exhibit differences in colour tone. Who are you to doubt them?

Your screen may..but not everyone’s. Ever think for a second apple screwed up a large quantity of phones?

Turning auto brightness off does nothing. The screen is still yellow with it on or off. There are defective screens out there. My whites are all types of different colors, but mostly a nasty yellow hue.

The sides are pinkish. Screen straight on is very muddied yellow, and it gradients from top to bottom from yellow to blue.

This is not normal I’ve owned multiple LED phones.

no help when turn off auto brightness. Only if changing the color tint will help a bit. I think it is a defect, why the regular screen color is yellow.

Not all of them at the apple store are like this though. Some of them are perfect crisp whites like it’s supposed to be.

To avoid confusion, they are crisp white beacause TT is off right? Or they are still white with TT on?

Then it's bad for real. My X screen looks fantastic next to my old 6S Plus and my friend's 8 Plus. With Auto Brightness off the X blows both phones out of the water and makes them look very outdated.
