My replacement is a F2 and the screen is perfect. No pink/green banding. 100% even and whites are great plus minimal colour shift. My previous X had a pink tinge and pink edges 1/3 way up.

May we have a picture of the Mac rumor page with tt off please?

It’s annoying how completely random the screens are.

I’m going totally off of what I read here, but do we know for a fact that there are different OLED production runs tied to different serial numbers? Based on other iPhone years, I know this to be true. But I’ve not actually seen a listing anywhere that states “Serial numbers starting with FK have a XYZ OLED produced on Sep 7 but Serial GA have a PDQ OLED produced on Sep 9.”

In other words, FUD. Because I don’t really know that random itself is, well, random or a pattern.

Hey all. I just got a sim free model X 256GB.

Wanted to share the pictures to compare but it seems like most of the pictures are too large to upload... except 1.

The one of the left is the sim free model with serial G0. Interestingly when I looked up the serial online it says “Factory: G0 (Assembled in USA).

Thought they were all made in China?

The Verizon on the right is a G6 serial. Let me know what you think.

Both seems little bit pinkish, but that might be because of the camera

The one on the left is more pink but pretty uniform. The one on the right is pinkish at top left and goes to green / blue as you go right. Maybe play around with the color tint utility and then see? Also camera / photo can cause them to look different than in real life.

The same factories I've been getting most of mine from previous. F2

Its a week 46 and of the 5 sets I've gone through its has the least colour shift. If it didn't know what the blue tint shift was about I wouldn't even notice it on this.
I figured out why my screen looked “brighter” at the bottom. It’s the tilting color shift. I tilted my phone a tad bit up and the screen matched perfectly.

Super annoying. Checked out a co workers X and saw the exact same thing as my phone. This is def widespread. I am jealous of people who don’t notice this or don’t care.

It depends. If u place the phone flat and look at it from the side, the tint should be even across. On my current set from the side it looks uneven tinted already.

So it’s not from the colour shift from different angles.

My partners launch day phone looks even from the side and a bit brighter as u said from front one because of angle shift

What do you suggest I do?

Hi guys, I just received my phone today. In addition to the color shifts, I'm not sure if I have some red/pink tint on one side the phone. I'm debating if I should try to exchange it out. Let me know what you guys think I should do. thanks!

I picked up a DN serial week 47 SIM free model and it has the most perfect screen I have seen yet. A cool tone off center (I hate the pink!) and is as uniform as I think I'll find. Also I actually DO indeed notice a difference with the Qualcomm chip in my house as I do not have the best service. Can hold phone calls where my Intel model would drop them. HOWEVER- this one has the crackling speaker issue pretty strong, however at this point, who thinks that I should cut my losses and just live with that as I have gained two pluses with this unit? I mean it's pretty annoying as you can hear it on phone calls speaker at higher volume but as long as I keep it a few notches below it's fine. I think a proper screen is more important. #ocdrantover

I don’t have another iPhone X to compare my screen to, but I do have another OLED screen, which is the one on the original PlayStation Vita. The iPhone X looks noticeably more yellow and even comes out on pictures. The Vita has a great balanced white for an OLED screen, and even though it was pretty much 1/8th the price of an IPhone X, the screen looks a lot better.

Are there seriously any good iPhone X’s out there with a good cool/neutral white balance? I’m super scared to get into the display lottery incase I’ll never be happy, but I don’t enjoy using this phone at all because of the god awful screen. :(
