Just went back to the store today w/o appointment since I live close by, they gave me a replacement with new serial F2LV, the edges are slightly pink, but not as bad as the first one. I think I'll just stick with this one for now. At least the replacement was quick.

Really sucks if you don't live close to an apple store and don't have apple care. I guess apple's quality control just isn't as good now.

Pink all around the border or?

The macrumors forum is a good place to test to see if you have uniformity issues

The blue and white interchangeable threads per subforum

Seems like f2 is having lots of success?

My f2 att had a nice screen too

it's pink around the border when tilted very slightly but it's not too bad. I'm impressed by the screen's uniformity otherwise though.

My right side looks pink off axis but direct on I don’t see it at all. And top I see it too but not straight on. Left side it’s the smallest pink off axis. Bizarreness

So far uniformity of this unit is wayyy better than the f1 sim free I had

Could also have something to do with the glass screen protector. I know that screws with off axis on my 7+ too lol

Straight on is the main concern

I have exactly the same kind of pink tint as you, more visible on the right than the left and some in the ears.

I've noticed that the best screens shift blue when tilted slightly, but others shift red/pink first before shifting to blue.

Good way to describe it

The shift, on “bad” units that have red shift red shift up the whole panel you can see it vs the whole panel shifting more or less

So mine does shift pink, then blue, the green(ish). Why is that “bad” if the uniformity is “good?” Just curious.

I also have pretty bad ghosting. Not thrilled with that.

Yes, I agree. I hate the pink tint, it really is ugly to my eyes. Unfortunately the one I have now with it's (as close as possible) to perfect screen has a horrible speaker crackle so I am toying with the idea of ordering a couple SIM free models (sad you have to get two to get a chance at a decent unit) and returning this one yet again, ugh. Does anyone know how many returns Apple will let you do until they say no more? Each and every one of my exchanges has been for a legitimate issue and it is not my problem their quality control is so horrible with this model. I have been a loyal customer for over a decade as well and have called AppleCare to document my dissatisfaction this just in case. I know I am picky but for this much money, it is true that you deserve something that works the way it should.

Hi Guys, just some thoughts.

Premising that the "pure white" simply does not come with this panel, what do you think a solid unit should have?

I start:

1) evenness
2) X/Y (especially X) axis variation: the less, the best.
3) When present, the variation color should turn into green/blue instead of pink

I find that if all this things are present, when you turn OFF the true tone it become pretty decent during the day, but still too warm during the night.

With the accessibility filter ON at minimim intensity level, it pops up a good white point, both day and night.

Happy to hear you thoughts about that.

Honestly all I want and care about is evenness. I want every part of the display to be exactly the same tint, brightness and whatever else. Idc about blue yellow pink, I can change that in color profiles. What cant be changed is uneven brightness and stuff.

How Apple gets away with this on a 1000$ phone is mind numbing. Idk..

Curious... Where are "color profiles?" The color filters in Accessibility? Or somewhere else? Thanks...

Settings > General > Accessibility > Display Accommodation > Colour Filters > Select Colour Tint

Then you'll play with the Sliders...

Off axis uniformity doesn’t matter to ya?

Also remind me what was wrong with your other displays? Multi tint ?

If yours is uniform then it’s good, it’s just that I noticed screens with pink edges tend to shift pink first when tilted, but it definitely isn’t the same for every screen.

All I really care about is the uniformity of using the phone as I normally do. So whichever way that is.

First phone the popping sound
Second the bottom is brighter than top. If I shift the phone just a tad bit up, it’s even however.
Third phone ordered from Apple relations, should be here Friday.

Yeah, my question exactly. Why’s pink shift ‘bad’ and blue shift ‘good’?

I think Ive given up and I'm going back to my 7Plus JAILBROKEN

This one I had had an exposed frame by the vol BUTTONS and face ID sucked so I exchanged

And low and behold, hot pink bunny ears and the slightest off axis shift and the whole
Display turns this intense pink

Sucks cause I liked the X a lot
But quality control is horrendous on this release

If my att model got good receptiOn in my
Apt like my 7Plus att i would have never bothered and gone down swap hell
