Fifth iPhone X...

New one came also with a rather noticeable shift to blue, however it is more uniform than the last one.

I don't know what to do : give up ? settle with one of these two ? try yet another one ?

To my eyes the one on the left is vibrant, whiter and brighter. The one on the right has that dingy green/blue haze that just looks dull overall. Apple loves to calibrate all their displays similar to this, it's mind boggling. Then again, my eyes are very sensitive to a green tinge, so I usually take the green down quite a bit on all my devices, Macs and TVs.

Thanks for the advice. I think I will stop the lottery and definitely settle with one of these two.

The more uniform is the pink one (the one on the left), right ?

This one, shifting to pink, is closer to good to what I consider a good display.
It's just a little too pink at an angle, like it's blushing. But otherwise, it's very close. And it's whiter straight on.

When I show the two models to people, a majority prefers the pink one because it seems whiter !

according to the pictures, the right one is more uniform, even if more greenish.
The left one, especially in picture #2 and #3, show a strong color change from bottom to top.

Can you please post a couple of straight picture in order to assess better wich one is better?

Moreover, consider that a pink shift make your eyes perceive a yelloish tint when the device is put straight on.

Here are some more pictures with one straight on.
To me, the yellowish tint is more important on the blue shift one. The pink shift one seems whiter straight on.

Guys, my device is G6 made week 50, the moment I switched-on the phone I noticed very rare hint of pink edge running on the right side, but after using it for a day and a half, pink hue seems to be gone or faded away. I am not sure though, have a look on the pictures attached and suggest me should I get in for exchange/return lottery!

You can see the diagonal striped pwm dimming in the left pic at 3.

I’ll go through the one on the right. Even if warmer, it looks more even than the other unit.

The pictures may be misleading, though. If you can stay in the returning frame days, try each one for a whole day and then choose the one you make you more comfortable.

Don’t forget to test the top speaker, many units suffer of crackling sound.

Yeah, I just noticed that. But, the pink hue on the right side edges and yellow tint has drove me nuts, that I haven't noticed anything. Went for the replacement, will be getting a white box replacement by saturday.

Mine had pink edges on the right side running from top to bottom in any light and was very distracting while using facebook, so I went for replacement.

How bad do you think the blue cast on my iPhone is? Should I try to exchange the phone for a white box replacement at Apple?

But is that blue tint normal, it seems really strong to me?

It’s not strong and yes it’s normal

You got a keeper of a unit.

I’d seriously entertain selling it to that dude if you don’t like it. OR check out demo units to calm your concerns

OLED isn’t for everyone. Some people just prefer LED. But not me :p

Still the p3 7/8+ is a very very nice LED. As good as it gets

I have compared my mobile phone to the iPhones in the Apple contract shop anyway, they have for my taste less blue portion. Maybe they just had a red cast. Anyway, I took down the screen protector film and the blue cast is much weaker now.
you should see a galaxy note 8 and you will know how bad that phone shift to blue
You guys just saved the iphone at the last second. I already had it in its original packaging ready to be returned.

Returning a keeper and getting a truly bum unit would be a real bummer

Congrats glad you
Figured it out!

I still have some pink edges on my replacement, I think I’ll wait a few months before going to the Apple store again and hopefully the new replacements will be better.

Finally I tried one last time and exchanged the pink shift one for a SIXTH iPhone X...

I think I finally got the one I'm going to stick with...
It's quite similar to the previous blue shift one but even better, the shift is more subtle and more greenish than bluish.

It is not annoying in normal use.

To be honest, the previous one had an acceptable screen but I noticed it was consistently 2-3% slower than all other iPhones X (it was noticeable when launching apps at the same time, and confirmed by geekbench with a consistent result around 4100 vs 4250 for all other models)

The one I'm going to keep is the one on the right (6th one, no noticeable issue)...

Did you refund the old ones and buy a brand new ones or just asked for replacement in the white box?
I'm on the 15th days of using my iphone x but I just realized mine has a slight pink edge (it's hard to see unless I view the screen off axis) don't know if I can exchange for another one or not

But is the pink edge noticeable when looking at the screen straight on? The only time I see a slight pink edge is if I view the screen at certain angle. But if you can't see it straight on, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you were to exchange it, quite possible you might get some that has more noticeable pink edge, then you won't be happy and you end doing another exchange which could have another issue of its own.
