But is the pink edge noticeable when looking at the screen straight on? The only time I see a slight pink edge is if I view the screen at certain angle. But if you can't see it straight on, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you were to exchange it, quite possible you might get some that has more noticeable pink edge, then you won't be happy and you end doing another exchange which could have another issue of its own.
when viewing the screen straight one I can't see that pink edge anymore, I guess I can live with it and wait for the Plus size Iphone X :D plus mine doesnt have crackling speakers and no dust in the camera.

what's the color of your Iphone X screen be if you hold it straight on? Mine has a yellowish tone, not completely white which I'm kinda sad :(

Sold my latest X due to 2 micro scratches on the screen coating and since I also noticed slight pink shift at the ears and pink edges from time to time in low brightness conditions. Figured why not try again, law of averages has to apply to me at some point. I hate pink shift with a passion.

Re-bought, again, and finally scored the best one I’ve tried so far. Serial is G6. Head on there’s no warm tone like several others I’ve tried. You know, where it looks warm head on and then when you tilt the phone slightly it looks perfectly white. That annoyed me.

Not a hint of pink shift anywhere, ears or edges, a welcome sight. As soon as I powered it on at the store I saw it was a winner. I’ve gone through more than I care to admit and it was obvious right away. Slight uniform blue shift when tilting but the viewing angles are so much wider on this one compared to most others I’ve tried. This is what I expect in a $1000 phone. Only took 2 months to score one, lol.

Until I buy my next phone / year or so. This one is the keeper (I’ve said that about earlier phones I tried but this one is truly the keeper, lol). You’ve prob tried a similar number of phones as me, you know a keeper when you see one. Slapped a screen protector on this in store right after removing the plastic wrapping. Amazing how easily the oleophobic coating scratches on this phone.

Thanks, glad you scored a good one as well. I know you’ve also gone through the lottery hell. It felt so good when powering it on for the 1st time! You really can notice immediately. That white Apple logo didn’t shift at all and the “hello” white screen was nice and uniform and just the slight blue shift at an angle. True Tone on/off toggle sample screen was a nice cool / neutral white. No pink hues, no rainbow color shift at an angle, no piss yellow head on. It’s embarrassing that I know all of these nuances, it’s good to know I’m not alone on these issues!

It’s almost like Apple flipped on True Tone by default just to leave you in complete suspense until confirmation turning it off haha

Sure. I will try my best later tonight. I no longer have a spare phone to snap photos so I have to charge my old point and shoot camera!

I bought mine from Apple.com and started return process online. The return shipping label says I have till January 20 to mail it. So that will put return way past 14 days, will they still accept the return?
It will give me time to try to catch Fedex guy instead of going to Fedex to drop off the package. Thanks

Here are the best shots I could take. Using my LG Exalt LTE flip phone, lol. Not the most accurate photos obviously but for purposes of color shift they are pretty accurate. The photo of the screen from head on appears blue at the bottom, it is just the photo, I could not take any better shot using the craptastic flip phone camera. I am using a matte screen protector.

You should be fine. I’ve started the return process on day 14 p, which gave me additional 14 days and I sent it near that 14 days and still accepted the return.

Since the holiday return period ended, they have till the 8th and if you start the return process on Apple.com they give you additional 14 days from the 8th so it would be 22nd that Apple have to receive it by.

Hi Guys, frankly speaking i had never seen a cool / neutral white so far (and i've tried many units).

Do you agree with me that the best white on the X model is the less yellow one?

Because - even if probably the picture is not 100% true to life - i consider this screen pretty yelloish/greenish:

Don't get me wrong, this is a good panel but it's not pure white.

This is my unit, but i'm not fully satisfied: even if i know it's great for the average quality, i just think to try another lottery, looking for a cooler one (that probably - now - does not exist).
vetro 2.jpg

I'm really satisfied when it comes to the outdoor panel quality (true tone on) - see the picture below - but for the most of my time i'm indoor, with artificial lights that don't trigger the white on.

Man, give me this display, lol. I had 2 iPhone X so far, both with really bad pink edges as soon as you go even slightly off axis. I don't care about color shift as long as it's uniform across the screen. What I can't stand are these edges.

Was your model a Space grey or Silver?

*Edit- here you go. Tried again using a 10 year old point and shoot camera. Re-shot photos at a spot where natural sun light wouldn't affect the photo as much. Red hue isn't this strong in real life, I'd have returned it already. But I do just barely notice it. Screen is still by far the best I've had. Because it is uniform it's simple to adjust in color settings if I want to. Maybe it's the matte protector too. So take these with a grain of salt.

Guys do sell for x plus or XS or X2 or whatever you can market it having a relatively perfect screen of the batches of hell, and get it sold quicker or for a bit more coin :p

Guys, can anyone provide me with any point of contact, where I can escalate the service related issue with my iphone x?
I read it in this thread, where some member was in touch with tim cook assistant or at some senior level.

It seems like my model has a “yellow” circle in the middle that moves up and down when I tilt the phone. There’s pink all around and when tilted further it gets blue.

I don’t have the weird texture problems or speaker issues though. So I don’t know about playing the lottery

Hello to everyone I need an opinion on what to do with my iPhone X. This is my 5th phone that has a problem... which make my experience frustrating.

In general the phone is perfect, the screen has flawless whites and don’t have the tilt shift problem... but has a very small dead/stuck pixel that is hard ti notice, and in darker apps: clock app, spotify, watch app i have the screen uniformity problem in the mid left section of the display.

I'm still in time for a replacement but I do not know if it's worth...

Dead or stuck pixel(s) on a $1000 phone = auto return without even thinking about it.

I had this awhile ago on one that I returned. Looked like someone took a piss on the middle of my screen. The rainbow pink to blue shift is just gravy on top. Return this P.O.S. You spent $1000+.

I am currently talking to the store. They wanted me to take pictures and videos of the problem since the service guy couldn’t see it (all other employees could, so could everyone else I showed it to). I’m now having to wait for the repair centre to say yes or no to an exchange. Otherwise I’ll have to send it in for repairs and probably get it back with a service fee because they somehow can’t see it.

If the store doesn’t come through I’ll go through Apple themselves though.

How many replacements did you go through during this Lottery?

Good luck. Hopefully if the store doesn't help you out Apple will. You shouldn't have to put up with a really bad screen. I've gone through more returns and re-buys than I care to admit, lol. I've also sold borderline phones rather than return them because I don't want to abuse the return policy. The borderline ones I just sucked it up and took the small loss. The obvious defective phones I returned and have never gotten attitude / rejected / banned / looked down upon. Staff has always been pleasant to me, managers included, and willing to accommodate me. Depends on staff and store and how you interact with people, obviously.

Either the 5.8 inch X2 or the 6 inch LCD iPhone. I really dislike the OLED screen lottery. It's been much worse than the LCD lottery.
