LOL! You are right, I should bow down and beg Apple for forgiveness for I have sinned. Take me to the Promise Land Apple, where everything you say and do is right. Shun those who have a different wants and needs for they have sinned.

That pretty much sums it up, and why I avoid the iPhone like the plague

Sure the hardware and design of the iPhone are top notch, and look great, with awesome processor. But man does iOS just suck, it feels like its ten years outdated, but looks like its current from 2015, but it is so limited and basic, I could never use it, until a major overhaul is done. The iPhone feels like a dumb phone, with a bit of smartphone capabilities.

Sarcasm won't work here... mainly because Apple doesn't read these forums... but if you can convince them after 8 years of not having that annoying little blinky LED, go for it.

I dont mind iOS to be honest. I definitely don't maximize the potential of androids (tasker, otg, themes, customizing, rooting, roms). However there are one off times that I do utilize a few of these features. Hence I prefer to have it than not have it.

My main gripe is hardware with iPhones. Front facing speakers are a must as well as LED and fast charging. I watch a ton of media on my phone without headphones in bed as well as torrent alot of the series I watch. Lastly (software) I simple can not do without Google Now. Over the past year it has consistently blown my mind lol.

options / choices. Not everyone wants a notification light. Not everyone wants a smart watch. Android gives you both the choice of smartwatch and/or notification light. What is so wrong with wanting that choice? It is a non issue for Apple to just toss in a 10 cent LED light. Or does that cut their profit margins too much?
I honestly don't know, you have to ask Apple. But clearly their stance is they don't subscribe to the kitchen sink approach to feature addition.

LOL. Of course I'm being hyperbolic and satirical (as are you) here and in characterizing the Apple ads etc., but satire only works when there's a kernel of truth. Underlying the whole Apple ecosystem is a certain ethos of 'Give yourself unto Apple and they'll take care of you.' What you see here is knee-jerk intolerance to and compulsion to defend against anything that contradicts or undermines the safe warmth of Apple's bosom.

Huh, what? I use the products because I like them. Nothing more, nothing less. There are no safe and warm bosoms clouding my judgement. :D

To sum up 7 pages of thread
  1. A notification light is a somewhat legitimate reason to not buy an iPhone
  2. There are plenty of other reasons to leave the iPhone and perfectly legitimate reasons not to leave the iPhone

Before this "Alternatives" forum existed, this was half the threads in the iPhone board.
Seriously? Are they that hung up on it or are their lives so boring that they need to periodically create this drama???
Now that's just about the saddest thing ever. Good to know for the next time.
I do see some obvious pot stirrers. Staying away.
Thanks for the info. Over and out.

If you do consider Android, get one with really, really long battery life.

Some moments I get angry at my phones' limitations. One doesn't have enough storage space. The other kinda lags from its custom skin. But today is not one of them. Had a brownout (aka blackout in US) since 7am this morning. Been only 2G browsing for 3 hrs on Opera Mini (data/battery efficient) and still was at 71%. I can get 10 hrs SOT on this. Yes, only 2G and Opera Mini but I need to save as much left if electricity could be gone longer. Who knows when it comes back? Been 8+ hrs without it. But at least my phones are about 70%, so another 24 hrs can do without electricity and dead power bank.

Good battery life and good camera are two areas you should focus on.

Satire also "works" when there are stereotypes.

Still don't understand why people argue against the implementation of a notification light when it doesn't effect them negatively in any way if they don't want to use it.

Buy an apple watch they say...
I don't really care if Apple implements a notification light, not having it is not the end of the world; I don't know why this is a hard concept.:(

That may be your sentiment, but this thread is filled with posts against the notification light for essentially no reason other than that they don't want it. Like qbnkelt specifically who embodies the stereotype Robison is talking about.

You do know when the 6s launched 13 million voted it's okay that Apple doesn't have a notification light. And the debate on this is also good as we should be able to discuss features.

Where the line should be drawn is a personal attack such as what you said above as if you were to draw a conclusion of a stereotype based on the persona of the way some post its non too flattering.

Totally agree. And if Apple someday does implement a Notification light, watch the fans say they do it better, smarter, and the only way a notification light should be done.

Sorry, but way too many Apple apologist's here.

Why can't people admit the iPhone has a laundry list of lacking crucial features. I am still shocked in 2015 it sells as much as it does, just blows my mind.

But then again McDonald's sells a billion Big Mac's, and those are ****** and bad for you, but still sell like crazy

For me right now it's because android has a laundry list of issues too and I think iPhone 6s offers the best overall nonphablet experience for me. Even though I wish it had a notification light

The smartphone market is all about compromises :(

The attitudes in this thread drive me bonkers though!

Before IPhones 6 and 6 plus came out, I remembered there were several polls that showed more than half of Apple fans were ok if the screen size smaller than 4.7" and you know what happened!

I am a big Android Nexus fan, but am still open minded to other OS and different smartphones.

Last winter I bought a iPhone 6 Plus to really give it an honest test. I should have known it was bad the minute I was using it, I was dragging app icons down to the bottom of the screen, for easier reach and quicker access, but the app icon kept bouncing back to the top, and I kept trying, and it kept going back to the top for no reason. Long story short, I found out you have to have app icons in row from top to bottom. WTF ? I are you kidding me, in the year 2015 and the 8th generation of iPhone, you can't do the even most basic simplistic of customization as just placing the app icons anywhere you like on the home screen. Wow.

I Jailbreak the phone, which helped, but before 30 days was up, I returned it for a Nexus 6, and not sure I can ever go back to the dumb-smartphone iPhone again, until a major overhaul of iOS is done. The iPhone IMO is just way too basic, and feels extremely outdated in the OS. Yes the design and hardware is top notch, and Apple makes a beautiful device, with great hardware, but iOS just blows for me.
