@Scepticalscribe may be busy agitating about the whole Brexit ordeal*.

I appreciate the break though -- job-searching intensifies.

* Not that it's not something not worth agitating over, however.

Er, cough, I am. Very much.

Er, yes, actually, it is worth agitating over. Very much so, I'm afraid.

Not just here, but, ahem, elsewhere, too.

If I can find time to re-read threads - and that is the key - and confirm spells tomorrow, shall attempt to do so.

Otherwise, thanks to Brexit, it will not be before Saturday. Or Sunday which is a lot more likely - when I tend to be confined to barracks, minding Mother. Sorry, but politics.....my passion, my life, my profession....wins.

My plan is to find myself suddenly on stage, turn my back to the audience, and quick review a couple pages of lines. I've learned not to pre-plan my role. :)

@ravenvii, the brexit vote is done so I expect @Scepticalscribe to be back soon. Can we continue the game while she picks her new spells ?
Yep! Let's make our moves!

@Scepticalscribe you can pick your spells in the meanwhile -- we're going shopping, so I'll hazard in assuming you probably won't need to use any spells immediately anyway.

So to recap:

It is early-ish morning. You guys are just outside of the inn, with the cart Claus made, with all your stuff. The one-legged knight is nowhere to be seen. You intend to take said cart to Barthen's Provisions to see if he would buy anything, despite the fact that the wagon you were supposed to deliver to him has been delivered to wagon-heaven instead.

@Plutonius @Don't panic @Scepticalscribe @Moyank24 @twietee what do you do?

Thanks for the recap Pluto, appreciated.

@Moyank24 - you still partying with us? Hope so!

I'll have a deadline to meet on June 30th, up until then I will not have any time to play. Afterwards moreso :)

Yes, please. :D

Let's move to Barthen's Provisions and barter. I want monies!

Maybe our lil' Hafling can jump up and raise a hand because I can't see her anywhere around - and I'm not that tall myself. Hope Portia didn't jump ship! :(

I should be around tomorrow (Wednesday, as I am out this evening).

And yes, I shall have - or, plan to have - prepared spells (thank you for confirming that I have that pearl), a desire for us to receive what monies are owned to us, stock up at Barthen's provisions, and I also desire to have a chat with Sister Graele before we embark on further adventures.

You suspect you recall seeing a trading post that is of decent size for such a town as this as you walk into the town last night. You retrace your steps down the main thoroughfare -- such as it is -- and indeed, there it stood, on the same side of the road as the inn, and two buildings over to the north. You see that Barthen's Provisions is the last building in the center of the town before the landscape becomes farmland and residences.

Barthel's Provisions is a trading post that consists of one large building and a smaller stable-sized building attached to its left side. Its front afforded sufficient space away from the road for one to leave a wagon without impeding traffic on the road. You go ahead and go inside.

The trade post is overstuffed, yet organized. You see many varieties of supplies -- from rope and backpacks to bedrolls and rations. A friendly-looking lean man approaches you. "Hello good sir! Ah! I am hearing gossip of a group of adventurers who ventured into the town late last night. My name is Elmar Barthen, and I am the proprietor of this here trading post." Earthen regards you with a friendly face. Before you could say anything, he continues, "of course! I have the compensation ready. Simply bring up the wagon to the front, and my assistants will take care of it," the lean man hurried behind the counter before you could stop him and begins to count the coins.

You follow Veit into what turns out to be Barthen's Provisions. You enter as a lean man -- who you surmise to be Barthen -- hurries behind the counter and begins counting coins. You wonder if he was told that the wagon is... no longer with us?

@twietee @Scepticalscribe how do you respond?

I will explain the whole dilemma - not leaving out any of the good parts with lots of action, lost hands and many dead goblins - to the kind man. After finishing the long story I will *sigh* and ask him: "And, good man, did you know him - my cousin Gundren who got kidnapped and possibly eaten alive? Do you have any idea where we could start searching for him - and your lost goods? It is my personal duty to follow any lead and I will personally see to recover most if not all of what was taken from you to fullfill our agreement. While I understand your present sentiment - we will need to look forward and I fear that our current loadouts won't suffice and we will have to prepare for the upcoming battles and adventures lynig ahead of us. Please, go outside where the rest of our party is and look at the goods we looted from brutally slain goblins and the likes found during our journey - if you are interested in those I am sure we can talk some business and make a deal that helps both of us. What do you say"

@Plutonius you may leave your hammock now and join the game. :D

Earthen stares at you as you related what occurred to the wagon, his eyes wide open. Stopping the count of coins, Barthen replies with dismay, "oh, and how is -- ah, he is your cousin? What a -- what?! He has been captured? And possibly eaten? I heard rumors of Hallwinter having returned sans a leg, but I cannot possibly believe that to be true. But indeed, your party have encountered quite a troublesome situation! You are aware of the Phandelver's Pact and the lost mine, yes? Your cousin -- and my dear friend -- claims to have found the mine!"

Earthen approaches you from around the counter, his face dismayed. "You must venture to rescue him if you can," Barthen says adamantly. "Ah, who is to tell the other Rockseeker brothers? Nundro and Tharden are camping outside of town -- I haven't seen them in a tenday, but they should be back shortly to resupply." Barthen's face darkens, "it will sadden me to relay the news."

Earthen nods to you, "of course I will see what you have, of course." You lead Barthen past Syllin and onto the road, where the cart still remains, surrounded by the rest of the party.

*** Hey, what's on the cart, can anyone refresh my memory? A ton of goblin shields, spears and bows/arrows obviously, but what else?

@ravenvii, you never told us a count of the stamped bags and boxes. Just that we found some. Would the weapons / shields be better sold at the blacksmith ?

Say to all (@Don't panic, @twietee, @Scepticalscribe, @Moyank24): I believe we should head to the Sleeping Giant Tavern to look for Iarno Albrek. Salidar said he might know the location of Cragmaw Castle.

Speak to Earthen: Do you know of a person called Iarno Albrek and where he might be located ? We have heard people refer to redbrands. Are they the town guard ?
