I'm super busy at work now, going to a concert afterwards and will be on the road from tomorrow till next monday. So if DP can't make it and you guys want to move forward I'll hereby post a:

"Hello, how are you? Really? that's good to hear! Listen, we've got an aweful adventure behind us and an even worse one ahead and need desperately to resupply ourselves. Will you be so kind to have a look at *insert all items of interest for the Lionshield Coster* and make us a good price!"

Good luck and see you Monday. Who's playing in the concert you are attending ?

Hanging above the front door of this modest trading post is a sign shaped like a wooden shield with a blue lion painted on it.

"What do you want?" a sharp voice sounded as you and Claus enter the Coster. You see a large room with supplies stored in crates and sacks lining the walls, and a human woman of approximately thirty approaching you. "Newcomers, huh. I am Linene. Tell me what you want to buy, and get busy elsewhere."

Claus' voice catches when he tried to talk, but you continue, as smoothly as you could, with a polite 'how are you?'. "Don't waste my time. Buy, or turn around and start walking."

"An awful adventure? Sorry to hear that," Linene said, not sounding apologetic in the least. "Fine. I'll take a look, but if it was a waste of my time --" Linene cuts off, full of implications, as she herds you and Claus out of the Coster and into the clearing.

"The supplies! So you did have an adventure, I see! I was expecting a caravan carrying those crates and sacks, but they never arrived. I feared the worst. Thank you!" her demeanor morphed completely. "I will award you 50 gold pieces for your efforts. If there are anything I can do, please do come to me."

Linene hurries back into the Coster, and returns with 50 gold pieces, and gives them to you (as the others watched closely -- you're not going to do anything funny this time). As Linene starts lifting and carrying her supplies into the Coster, she looks at the other equipment on the cart.

"I have no use for those," she says between grunts and groans. "The equipment are too far gone to be resold. I would suggest that you take them to the smithy up there -- they will surely be happy to take those off your hands for a nominal amount to be scrapped and reforged. Ah, those tooth should definitely be taken to the miner's exchange, down the road."

As she is carrying the last sack, she paused to look at the statuette. "Intriguing little thing you have there. You spoke to Barthen, did you? He might be interested in such things."

"Of course! Come in," Linene says when Claus asks about a rapier and a studded armor.

Claus follows Linene into the Coster. There turns out to be a back room, where all the weapons and armor are stored. "I moved them here so it wouldn't be so easy for them Redbrands to see what I have. I refuse to sell to those ruffians."

"The studded leather armor? That will be 45 gold pieces." She sees Claus' cringe, but says nothing. "Ah, the rapier is a rather fine piece of work. That will be 25 gold pieces."

@Plutonius what do you do?

Since the adventure seems to be in motion again, anyone care to offer a quick summary on combat? How many spells cast per day? I need to break out my notes.

Cursing the Count (@Don't panic) under my breath since I wanted him to negotiate a good deal on the studded leather and rapier :).

Say to Linene: It looks like a fine set of armor and a rapier but unfortunately, I haven't the gold. Do you carry an older used set that is less costly ? Also, do you know who might be interested in purchasing the two wolf pelts ?

"There's the leather armor that is ten gold pieces. I see you already have that. We do have some hide armor, which provides slightly more protection. It also costs ten gold pieces. Since your leather armor is worth the same, you could give me your leather armor, and I will give you an hide armor, no charge.

Ah, I normally do not purchase raw materials. But since you brought my supplies, I will give you 10 gold pieces for both pelts. What do you say?"

@Plutonius how do you respond?

*** I'm going out of town today, and will be back Monday. So have a good weekend -- see you guys/gals then!

Say to Linene: Who normally buys wolf pelts in town ? I think I will try to shop the pelts around but I may be back.

Orders: Head to the blacksmith next to sell the loot.

"Well, the only other shop in town that may be interested is Barthen's Provisions. You can ask him -- I doubt he will make a better offer, however."

She nods as you depart, "the doors will always be open for friends such as yourself."

Leading the party, you retread your steps up the main road, past the inn and arrive at the smithy, which is directly opposite Barthen's Provisions. The building is nowhere as large as Barthen's Provisions or as grand -- for this town, that is -- as the Lionshield Coster. The sign hanging in the front of the wooden door says SMITHY in faded wording.

@ravenvii, When I hear from Linene that no other shop will buy the pelts, sell them to her.

Orders: We enter the blacksmith shop and Veit (@twietee) or the Count (@Don't panic) better speak up if we want to get a good price.

*** Okay, +10 GP to the party (Claus is holding it right now).

You walk directly through the wooden door, and a wall of heat hits you. You fitch as spark flies past you, barely missing your head.

The sound of a hammer hitting the anvil assaults your ears once more before the burly man stops and looks up at you.

"We don't sell weapons here. Get ova' to Linene's if you want 'em."

Say to Smithy: "Good man, please take a look at our equipment: how much would it cost to reforge those so we can sell them? Make us a good price please too! :D"

Sorry to say this but it seems like our party fell apart. Probably we should check that first before we try selling our stuff over the next couple of weeks. No point in that if half the crew left without notice - I might stop playing then too - and can start a good ol' [WW]. :D

There is no reason why the two games can not run concurrently :). Currently, this game is running one turn / 3 days or so and only requires a two minute response. All the players are posting in the PRSI so I can't understand why some say they are too busy ATM for the game. This especially goes for @Moyank24 who has been posting in the PRSI and not posted once here in a long time :(.

I want to sort of my spells, and decide what I am going to use - I am completely rusty, and have forgotten much of what I had already painfully learned.

Although I did make copious notes earlier in the game, my capacity has levelled up slightly and I need to work out what I can access, and what I can readily call to hand.

Re the bargaining, my charisma deficit means that my powers of persuasion are relatively limited, so I will leave the negotiations of such things to others who may be more gifted in that department, and content myself by keeping an eye on proceedings, unless my counsel is needed.

I will hold off asking about our finances for now, but I will admit to some slight curiosity for now as to whether Sildar Hallwinter intends to pay us the monies he had promised.

For myself, I have one or two errands in this village, - I wish to have a few words with Sister Garaele, as was recommended to us in the inn last night, but they can wait until some of our other business is concluded.

I am so sorry!!

I was given a little forced vacation last month, and I think it changed my settings, so I wasn't getting any alerts! I did receive a PM to let me know that I totally missed the game being started up again!

I'm ready to go, and will be good so i don't get any more vacations!

Me too :). Like you, I'm hoping that Veit and the Count can handle selling our loot.

Reading through the older turns, the Count was talking to the innkeeper's son and was told of a cave just outside the town. That might be something else to look into. I myself am looking to our trip to the tavern to watch Portia (@Moyank24) cheat at play cards :D.

Glad to see you back !!! I was getting concerned you might be having recurring health issues :(.

We would be hurting without our goblin killer :).

Thanks! So far all has been clear on that front! Already through 2 3-month check-ups! :D

I, too, am ready to get to a tavern! (And hopefully will, as soon as I catch up on everything I've missed)

*** whew, awesome to see you guys back -- I was afraid the game's been abandoned -- there's awesome things in store!

The burly man looks at you, then brings down his hammer.

He said no words, but his message is obvious -- he will finish the sword he was forging first.

Luckily the sword was almost complete -- you do not think you could take the sound of the hammer hitting the anvil much longer. The man picks up the sword and eyes the length. It looks destined to become a shortsword.

Satisfied, the man places the sword on a table behind him. You realize there is a dozen or so of shortswords lined up in parallel along the table. Only a few more can fit on the table. You surmise that those will be sold to the Lionshield Coster, to be resold.

The blacksmith nods, and approaches you. You turn and exit the smithy and onto the road where the rest of the party await next to the cart.

"Bad condition," the man remarked looking at the pile of scimitars, bows and shields.

The man picks up a scimitar. "Those goblins do not take care of their equipment," the blacksmith said with disapproval.

Eyeing the size of the pile, he remarks, "killed plenty, didn't you?" The blacksmith smirks. "You won't get full price for those, but I could reforge them anew." The man looks up at Claus. "I will give you 60 gold pieces for the whole pile."

@Plutonius @twietee @Don't panic how do you respond?

maybe we can shorten that process (going back and forth): anybody has an idea how much we will get for the reforged stuff more or less by experience?

"Smithy, before we settle the deal: how much would you demand for reforging all of it?"

The burly man shifts his eyes down to Veit. "Those will sell for, I'll say, ten times that at the Lionshield Coster. I reckon I sell the forged metals to Linene for half that. So I reckon I'd get 300 gold pieces, give or take, for those after I'm done with them."

"haha, thanks good man. the idea was that we give you money to reforge and eventuall polish them but sell them ourselves to Linene for a profit afterwards. ;) How does that sound? :D

Not that we don't appreciate your offer of 60coins of course! but we are a fairly large group with quite some murderous battles ahead and not that well equipped as of now - so every extra coin we can make - or save by not drinking too much *raises left eyebrow and musters Portia, wondering where the large amount of alcohol went in that tiny body* not only comes in handy but could make the difference between a mere flesh wound or even worse...not that I want to lay it down too thick but have a look at his *nods at Clauses hand* hand... yea, sorry, I know...not a beautiful sight."

Speaking quietly to Veit (@twietee) : I believe it might take a lot of time to reforge these and we can only tarry here a day or two before heading out to rescue your cousin. I believe that we should take the money offer from him but maybe you could talk him into paying us more (i.e haggle).

Speaking quietly to Syllin (@Scepticalscribe): It seems that the only place to sell the frog statue is back at Barthen's. Barthen is currently angry at Veit and myself so could you please get the statue appraised at Barthen's while we sell the weapons here. The quicker we finish liquidating our loot, the quicker we can get back to our adventure :).

Speaking quietly to Veit: Sounds good. He will probably counter bid lower and we can counter bid and get 75GP.
